Triple Sweet Card

Happy Wednesday! Kate here. Today I am sharing a triple sweet card with you.

I used the Sweet Cakes stamp set to create the ice cream cones.  The ice cream was stamped using Quick Quotes Chalking Ink in the same pink tone as the cardstock, creating strawberry ice cream.  Each ice cream was then hand cut out to top the cones.

Have a sweet day!

Throwback Thursday With Kate

Happy Thursday! Kate here today, sharing a couple of fun photos.  All this month the Gel-A-Tinas are hosting Throwback Thursdays.  We are giving you a little peek into our past and hopefully making you smile (and sometimes giggle) with us.

My sister, Sandy, is a huge part of my daily life. When we were young she was a total pain in my tush, but I thought nothing of taking the blame for her mischief time and time again. Check out this photo of us as young children. Totally giving my age away by telling you that this is 1973,  Sandy is two and I am three. Pretty sure I am holding on to the back of her jacket so she doesn't run off.

Now a days, I depend on Sandy for support, laughter and love.  She is a whip, too!  Keeps me in stitches and is quite often the voice of reason.  I love her ability to tell it like it is.  Here is a picture of she and I at a play in the park a few weeks ago.  Somethings just don't change!

Hope you enjoyed a little throwback of my life.  Please come back tomorrow, I'll be sharing a very sweet card.

He is All Boy!

Hello Gel-A-Tins Fans.  Kate here today, sharing a layout I created of my sweet grandson, Chase.  Chase is all boy!  The "Hello" stamp set has some perfect adjectives to describe him, so I used these stamps to create a focal point on my layout.

I used a Core'dinationat Core Bookmark, that was painted a bit with Distress Paints, to stamp several of the adjectives found in the "Hello" Collection.  I stamped the "guarenteed trouble" emblem right onto textured Core'dinations Cardstock and then hand cut it out.

Simple Pleasures

Creating a simple card for any occassion is a super sweet task when you create with the Sweet Cakes Collection by Gel-A-Tins Stamps. I am just digging the fun cherry stamps that are included in this collection.

I created the stamped cherry background using two different colors of ink by masking the stem and then the cherry when stamping.  The masking is easily done using some washi tape.

Loving the retro feel of the cherry image and color combo.  Very reminiscent of a dress I had during my childhood.

Wishing you a sweet day!

Christmas In July

Today when I was trying to finish up a summer layout, my creativity was leaning me towards creating this great Santa card using the Groovy Santa Collection.  I wish motivation to make Christmas cards actually struck me when I need to make them. Sometimes I think that my creativity is seasonally challenged.

I think this Santa stamp looks like he is saying "Ho, Ho, Ho."  Don't you?  I stamped the image and sentiment on a Core'dinations CoreTag after I had spritzed it with some Chalkboard Mist.

While I am definitely not wishing for Christmas anytime, I am happy to see that my Christmas card making mojo is still intact and hope that you enjoyed this bit of Christmas in July.

Love Knot Tags

Happy Wednesday Gel-A-Tins Fans!  Kate here today, sharing two gift tags I created using the Love Knots background stamp. These tags could easily be used to adorn a gift box, gift bag or wine bottle.

The background on both of my tags was created by spreading some Walnut Tim Holtz Distress Paint all over a Core'dinations CoreTag.  I swiped the paint off with a baby wipe in random spots to create an uneven, but smooth effect.  On top of this painted background, I stamped the Love Knot stamp using brown Archival Ink.

The "Thanks For Everything" sentiment on my first tag was stamped using the Admission is Free collection.  Again, I used brown Archival Ink to stamp the sentiment.

The "To" and "From" sentiment stamps are from Groovy Santa.  Such a fun font and perfect for this tag!

Next time you need a cute tag, pull out your stamps and have some fun! ~ Kate

Out Of This World Gift Bag

I am so loving the "Take Me To Your Leader" Collection.  It is just fun and flexible.  From cards to layouts to even gift bags, this collection of stamps takes you to another galaxy.

Kate here today.  I am sharing a cute gift bag altered with all of the stamps in the "Take Me To Your Leader."

The plain green gift bag that I started out with needed a bit of sprucing up, so I decided to create a fun border.  To create this border, I cut a white 2.5" x 9.75" strip of white stamping paper.  I lined up each of the stamps from "Take Me To Your Leader" on my Fiskars Stamping Press to make sure the images lined up correctly and were evenly spaced.

I glued the stamped strip onto the green gift bag and added a border of orange ribbon on the top and bottom.  Such a fun gift bag for any boy!

Guaranteed Adorable

Nothing is more adorable than a newborn baby. A baby boy or a baby girl is the perfect reason to make these cards adorable using the "Hello" collection.

"Guaranteed Adorable" for both cards was stamped on colored cardstock using Archival Ink to get a crisp image  The gender signs on both cards are heat embossed.

For this boy card, I stamped the maled gender sign with VersaMark and heat embossed the images with clear embossing powder.

For the girl card, I again stamped the female gender sign with VersaMark and heat embossed it. This time using white embossign powder.

The next time you need a cute baby card, go ahead and grab the "Hello" collection!

Intergalatic Card

Hello Gel-A-Tins fans!  Kate sharing with you today.

I got a package with a bunch of stamps from Gel-A-Tins Stamps a couple of weeks ago and was absolutely thrilled with the cool "Take Me To Your Leader" Collection and was inspired to created this intergalatic card right away.

I used Core'dinations Cardstock for the whole card, even the stamping.  I love the textured look of my stamped planets!

Here are the simple instructions for this card:

  1. Create a 4.5" x 6" card base with Core'dinations Neutral Cardstock.
  2. Emboss a piece of 4.25" x 5.75" Black Magic Core'dinations Cardstock.
  3. Sand the embossed cardstock so the blue shows.
  4. Add round spots of color with Distress Paints to the round Core'dinations Core Tag.
  5. Stamp Alien image from Gel-A-Tins TMTYL collection onto the painted Core Tag.
  6. Stamp planet images from Gel-A-Tins TMTYL collection onto cardstock and fussy cut.
  7. Half-way down the left side of the embossed Black Magic cardstock, cut a circle shape out big enough to place the decorated Core Tag into.  (I left enough room in my circle to let the background grey show through and for the tag to overlap off the Black Magic cardstock)
  8. Adhere the embossed Black Magic Cardstock onto the cardbase with Helmar Premium Craft Glue.
  9. Use Helmar ZapDots to give the planets and alien a bit of a boost!
  10. Add random brads to finish off the card.
  11. Share with someone special.
Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Hello Gel-A-Tins Fans! Kate here today, sharing a sweet card made with Gel-A-Tins "Sweet Cakes" Collection.  I don't know about you, but a cupcake can brighten any day for me!

Here are the steps I used to create this simply sweet card:
  1. Start with a 4.25" x 5.5"  Kraft card base.
  2. Die cut out a Poloroid frame.
  3. Stamp sentiment onto die cut frame with black ink.
  4. Stamp cupcake bottom from Sweet Cakes onto colorful cardstock in complementary darker color, then fussy cut the image.
  5. Stamp the cupcake from Sweet Cakes onto a different colorful cardstock in a complementary lighter color, then fussy cut the image.
  6. Glue the die cut & stamped frame onto the card base.
  7. Add a little bling to the stamped cupcake top....looks like sprinkles, doesn't it?
  8. Add ZapDots to the back of the stamped cupcake images and create the cupcake in center for the frame.

Paisley Flowers

Hello Gel-A-Tins Fans!  Kate here today sharing my latest card using Gel-A-Tins "Build Your Own-Paisley Florals" Collection.

I used one of the paisley stamps to create the flower petals.  Such an easy way to create a pretty flower! First I stamped the paisley stamp on white stamping cardstock with VersaMark.  Then I embossed the stamped image with embossing powder from Stampendous.  Each paisley image was fussy cut out and then the tails trimmed off.  I then layered each "petal" until it looked like a pretty flower and popped them with Helmar Zapdots.

Love Is Like A Butterfly

Love is in the air! So are butterflies!  Kate here today to share with you a card filled with love and butterflies.  The butterflies in the sweet grass stamp from the Easter Bunnies collection inspired me to play on the butterflies.

I stamped the image across the bottom of my kraft cardstock in Emerald Green Archival Ink.  I love the little flowers and butterflies just peeking out from this stamped image.

You know a stamp is great when you can build a card around it. That is exactly what I did with this stamp!

Birthday Layout

Hello Gel-A-Tins Fans!  Kate here on this lovely spring Tuesday.  Today I am sharing with you a layout accented with fun, colorful rays that have been stamped with a sentiment from the "It's Your Day" collection.

I initially posted this layout to Quick Quotes for their challenge this month, but was so thrilled with the stamped rays of color that I knew I just had to share this with all of you! I love it when I can effectively add in a sentiment stamp as an embellishment on one of my layouts.

Adding a monochromatic "It's Your Day" stamped on my rays of color was the perfect touch. It added interest to the colorful strips of paper.

Happy Monday Gel-A-Tins Fans!  I hope you had a lovely weekend.  Kate here today, sharing with you a simple thank you card made with the "Build Your Own - Paisley Florals" Collection.

I stamped the patterned paisley stamps with both a heavy-hand and a light-hand create different hues of blue and black paisley images on some blue speckled paper from The Robin's Nest.  I then cut out the stamped paisley images and glued them on the kraft paper.

I kept the design simple in order to show off the great patterned paisleys.

Spring Bird

Spring has sprung here in Maine.  That means lots of green and lots of birds.
It is such a wonderful time of the year for renewal and color.

Kate here! Today I am sharing a spring card.
My card shows off a pretty bird created with Gel-A-Tins

I created the bird by stamping the large paisley stamp twice onto Celebration Glitter Swirl Cardstock  by The Robin's Nest. Then I cut out the image and mounted it onto Green Glitter Cardstock, also by The Robin's Nest. The images were then overlapped so the bottom image creates a bird wing.

I stamped a small solid paisley, cut it out and mounted it on the
Green Glitter Cardstock creating a fuller bird.

I hope you have enjoyed the insight into how I created my spring bird
using the paisley stamps from Gel-A-Tins!

Bright & Cheery Card!

Happy Friday!  Kate here!  Sometimes an occassion just calls for a bright and colorful card.  Something cheery and happy.

Today I am sharing a card that is very bright and cheery. I used Gel-A-Tins' "It's Your Day" Collection and Gelly Gems.  It is also chock-full of The Robin's Nest papers.

I stamped the "It's Your Day" sentiment on textured cardstock.

I cut out individual Gelly Gems to use as bling accents on the stars and the sentiment.

This month the Gel-A-Tinas have the pleasure of designing with products from The Robin's Nest.  Be sure to check their blog and Facebook fan page. Be sure to tell them Gel-A-Tins Stamps sent you!
