Dance, Sing, Live! Verve Blog Party Challenges VSNOV09 A and B!

Finally had a chance to stamp! I have combined a few challenges. This card is for today's SCS Inspiration Challenge(IC208)! Thanks, Stef! Here is my inspiration picture.

This card is also for the Verve Blog Party Challenges! This is for VSNOV09A! A color challenge. Julee is challenging all participants to use black, white, olive, and turquoise! As you can see I went light on the turquoise and vintage everything up a bit. I need a color scheme that works well with a manly Birthday so these colors are perfect!

Before I made my card, I needed a sketch so I am using MOJO114!

I am using all Verve images. I am using Bountiful Backgrounds, Beautiful You, and Filigree Fantasy sets!

I cut out the top cardstock banner three times using one of Spellbinders diecuts that looks like the top note. I stamped the stripe panel from the bountiful backgrounds set. I heavily sponged the edges with some ranger antique linen and vintage photo. I stamped the background of the card with one of the images from the Filigree Fantasty set. I used ripe avocado ink and stamped off. The stamping off was not exact as I wanted some areas dark in places. More of a haphazard stamping off look. I sponged the edges and added my sentiment. I softly stencil inside the stencil with some adiraondack pool, ripe avocado, and antique linen. Then, I stamped off the same filigree image in the ripe avocado in the sentiment ofthe sentiment. I added layered ribbons and bows. I combined the mini bowdabra and the bow easy for this look. I placed one of the trio flower punches layered with a gold metallic dew drop in the center of my bow. I finished with some gold pearls.

Stamps
Verve Bountiful Backgrounds, Beautiful You, Filigree Fantasy
Paper
GP white, black, ripe avocado, turquoise
Ink

Accessories

I interupt this blog post at 2:17 pm to add a second Verve Challenge Card! This is VSNOV09B

This card is two challenges. The first is this week's SCS Ways to Use it Challenge(WT246)! While I did not use anything sweet on it, I did think of food while doing it hence the title. Does that count? Something about cocoa and razzleberry color combo makes me think of Double Chocolate Nut biscotti and raspberry coffee. I so need to find the raspberry coffee I used to buy in Indiana in alittle pack. Dunking the double chocolate nut biscottin into that raspberry coffee was out of this world fabulous!

This card is also for for the Verve Blog Challenges(VSNOV09B)! This one is a sketch designed by Laurie and Tosh with a twist. The twist is that it must be a Thank You card! I turn the sketch.I am using all Verve stamp sets called Grateful Elegance, Just for You, and a couple little Thank yous that received free from Verve just for ordering. Love those!!!Please check out this blog post for more card details!

Stamps Verve Paper Rich Razzleberry, close to cocoa, and ivory Ink Bordeaux, close to cocoa, ranger antique linen and vintage photo Accessories spellbinders, nestabilities, sponges, foam squares, glue dots, satin ribbon, sheer dotted ribbon, heart charm, gold pearls, sewing machine for holes, permanent marker for faux sew stitches, sponges, mini bowdabra

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC43)!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC43)! It is the last Tuesday of the month and we have a guess challenge host for you. This month our challenge host is Carol Lee. Please give her a warm welcome! We are so thrilled to have Carol host with us. Carol is challenging us to themed cards. Since this week we celebrate Thanksgiving as well as kick off the Christmas Season, Carol is challenging us to Thank You and/or Christmas themed cards. You can choose one theme or create one of each. Or like many, you may need to finish up a few Christmas cards in time for mailing next week. Whichever you choose, we look forward to seeing what you create! Have a Blessed Thanksgiving!

This card is also for today's SCS Color Challenge(CC246)! It is all about Pretty Olive Bays! We are to use Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, and Bermuda Bay! We have a dessert option this week. We are using plaids..totally optional, of course!!

I am using Flourishes Christmas Wreath and Fancy Labels sets. This particular Christmas Wreath is done with fruits, but I wanted to make them look like ornaments. After I colored, I used dottings of the stardust pen over the ornaments to give them some sparkle. Love how it looks IRL.

Peace and Goodwill!

This card is for today's SCS Inspiration Challenge(IC207)! Thanks, Stef!
Here is the link to my inspiration buttons! This card is also for Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C12)!

I am using two of ODBD releases this month called Blessed Christmas and Christmas Verses. I went with ivory and kraft cardstock in keeping with the look of the buttons. I stamped the poinsettia in snow white craft ink onto the kraft and let dry. I used a damasklook sizzix template for my embossing to further mimic the button looks. I stamped my scripture with Ranger vintage photo ink. I layered a MS border punch along the bottom to further showcase more patterns in my card that give the look of the different buttons in the set. I finished with a simple bow using the bow easy and a heart charm and some gold pearls!

I just want to add that I do start out with the exact sketch for the challenge in mind, but somehow I always manage to turn it or do something alittle different. I hope that is okay!

Thanks for stopping by! I am hoping that the blog issues are fixed. If you are still having trouble commenting, please let me know via pm at SCS! Thanks a bunch!

Blessed Christmas!

This card is for today's SCS Sketch Challenge(SC255)! Thanks Roxie and Chat for a great sketch. It is also for yesterday's SCS Color Challenge(CC245)! Always Real Chocolate! What can I say? I really love these colors!

I am using one of ODBD new releases this month called Blessed Christmas. For this image I pretty much used my pure poppy ink pad to the poinsettia and my new leaf ink spot to the ivory leaves and some of the tips of the poinsettia. I love this noncolored rocked and rolled look.

I softened up the ivory cardstock a bit with some ranger antique linen ink. I added my bow, button, gold pearls, and gold curly que to finish my card.

Since the Martha Stewart new border punches came out, I have been trying to get a few. I have had this one a few weeks and could not figure out how to use it for it to look right on my card. I ended up layer two sections opposite each other so I have this wonderful opened scalloped edge of the top and bottom. Totally love it this way!

I have been having some blog issues. It seems my blog page does not load correctly and some people are not able to comment if and when it does load. I am trying to fix this. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC42)!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC42)! This week Silke Ledlow is our challenge host. Silke is challenging us to a sketch she has designed. As far as sketches go, there is not much of an explanation necessary. You can turn it and modify the shapes to fit your size card, but in the end, it should still look like the sketch. Thanks for a great sketch, Silke!!! We cannot wait to see what you all create!

I am using one of the new releases this month called Winter Bouquet and Holiday Greetings. I used Momento Tuxedo ink and Flourishes Classic ivory cardstock. I colored with Flourishes Copic Color Collection. I used the same stamp with versamark onto the always artichoke to create a stamped background. I added some texture, vintage ink distressing, and punch accenting. I finished with my sheer bow, gold cording, and gold pearls.

Please check out the other blog team designer's cards to see what they created with the limited challenge for you this week.

This card is also for today's SCS Color Challenge(CC245)! Today is all about Always Real Chocolate! I just want to say that my computer is fried! I had to borrow the kids's tower to even get online today. As you can see, my card picture is using a typed watermark instead of my usual. I have no watermarks and editing software on this computer. I hope I can be up and running on my computer soon!!!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC41)!

It is time for
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC41)! The blog design team is celebrating Flourishes release week with you. We are sharing with you today, Fancy Labels, one of five sets to release this Friday! Dee Jackson is our challenge host this week! In keeping with the Fancy Labels set, Dee Jackson is challenging us to Boxes and Bags! You decide if you want to make a stamped box or a stamped bag to house anything from homemade treats to knitted mittens! We cannot wait to see what you create!

I decided to create a treat bag. Actually, these little kraft bags came in a pack of 8 I think and were on sale at Target a month or so ago. I just happened to pick them up thinking I might be able to use them for some little gifts. I sure am glad I did. For this treat bag, I am using the Flourishes sneak peek set, Fancy Labels, and the Holiday Greetings set.

For this treat bag, I embossed the whole bag with a texturz plate. I lightly sponged in ranger vintage photo. One of the images in the Fancy Labels set when stamped opposite each other creates a perfect insert frame for one of the Spellbinder's Label 4 die cuts. I stamped this image to create this frame onto Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock. I used one of the label 4 die cut frames to die cut the perfect stamped fancy frame label! Perfect fit!

I used a larger Spellbinder's label 4 die cut to create a window opening in my bag. I inserted chipboard inside of the bag so the hole did not go all the way through to both sides. I used a piece of crystal clear cardstock to create a clear window. I adhered with red sticky strip. I added a sentiment and year stamp to the inside of my fancy label 4 frame and attached to the outside of my treat bag. I decided to keep this treat bag pretty simple so I can make several fast. I added some white chocolate covered pretzels, folded the top over, used my CAD to create two holes to tie bag close, and finished with my big bow. I just love the way it turned out. Once I figure out the the how tos it was pretty fast and easy! Of course, I finished with some gold curly que bow and gold pearls. I think they dress up the kraft a bit more.

Please check out the other blog team designer's cards to see what they created with the boxes and bags challenge for you this week.

Christmas Nativity! FS144

This card is for today's SCS Feature Stamper Challenge(FS144)! Congratulations, Christine! Beautiful gallery with so many wonderful cards to choose from. I chose this one to case.

I kept to a theme concept. Christine has Valentine's Day, I chose Christmas
I changed the colors. However, I did try to stay with two pattern papers and one texture like Christine.
I chose to add a punch border along the sides of the back vertical panel
I did use a sentiment as my focal image like Christine, however, I opted to add a nativity image behind my sentiment. I rocked and rolled the nativity scene using adirondack pool and lettuce inks. I stamped the scripture using Momento black.

I am using ODBD Joy to the World and Christmas Verses stamp sets.
I used as my background the SEI Winter Glitterland dp. I love these non-traditional colors, texture, and sparkle!

Stamps
ODBD Joy to the World and Christmas Verses
Paper
PTI true black, garden green bermuda bay, white, new leaf, SEI, DCWV Holiday stack
Ink
Adirondack pool and lettuce, Momento tuxedo black
Accessories

Rejoice!

This card is for today's Sketch Challenge(SC253)! Thanks so much, Roxie!!! I used the bow pieces for my vertical pieces.

I am using ODBD Luke 2:11 and Christmas Verses sets.

For this card I am using soft suede and purely pomegranate with some ivory cardstock. I think purely pomegranate just screams Christmas and I actually still have some of the holiday dp left over to use for the background. I stamped my poinsettia and colored with copics, distressed with some ranger antique linen, and added a double layer at the top and bottom panels of MS border punch. I finished with my bow, gold curly que cording, and gold pearls. I paper pierced the background vertical panel at the top and bottom. I faux stitched with a permanent marker. All of the ivory panels were lightly sponged with the Ranger antique linen ink. The main panel just a little heavier with the ink.

Stamps
ODBD Luke 2:11, Christmas Verses
Paper
Soft Suede, Purely Pomegranate, Ivory, retired SU holiday paper 2007?
Ink

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC40)!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC40)! This week Kimberly Crawford is our challenge host! Kimberly is challenging us to a limited supplies challenge! Our challenge is to combine a colored image, texture or textures, and any shades of neutrals we want. You can pack on the layers and textures just make sure you include an image to color and use only neutral cardstock. Just so you know you can us any combination of whites, creams, blacks, browns, and grays! So make your cards pop with texture and a beautifully colored image! We cannot wait to see what you create!

I created a pendant tag for my card. I also stayed with the neutrals for the cardstock colors, but chose to give pop with my color image and accessories! I am using Drummer Boy and Christmas Music stamp sets! I am using Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock. I literally use this cardstock all the time regardless if I am coloring something or not. It has a wonderful weight and hand to it! Just takes inks beautifully and embossing magnificently! I colored my images with Flourishes Copic Color Collection.

I laughed a bit while making this card because when the Spellbinder pendant dies(lattice pendant) came out I really thought that those were something I did not have to have. Well, I kept saying.... "Cindy made me do it"! Hee Hee!!! Cindy Haffner, one of my blog team friends, just makes the most beautiful cards and sports the details like no bodies business. So, when she started using some of the pendant die cuts I went...oh, dear!!!
Nuff said!!! I was hooked! So, here is my first attempt using one since my package just arrived today! I do have a suggestion when working with these intricate die cuts, though. While using a piercing tool does help a bit, I found that using my embossing buddy helped a lot. Now, it may make your cardstock chalky, but you can always go over that with like ink.

Please check out the other blog team designer's cards to see what they created with the limited challenge for you this week.

That's three GREAT new sets that will help you with all your card making needs just in time for Christmas!!!

This month the ODBD challenge is Glimmer Christmas! Check out the blog for even more ways to win!!! I am using some the mustard seed glimmer spray that is sold in the ODBD store. For my card, I cut to size two white pieces of cardstock, sprayed with the glimmer mist, let dry, then I stamped the top one with the corner image from the Luke 2:11 set. I colored colored with copics, and sponged the edges using Ranger antique linen and vintage photo inks to give a more vintage feel to the glimmer effect. I added a few tiny silver pearls for some extra background effect. I just wanted to add that my cardstock is very shimmery. I tried to capture some of that sheen when I took my photo! It really is unbelieveably glimmery in real life!

I stamped the same flowers onto more white cardstock, colored with copics, and sprayed with the mustard seed glimmer mist for aded sheen. I cut those out and topped them with some tiny silver pearls. For these particular poinsettias, I was trying to get the all green with the touch of pale pink color.
I stamped my sentiment panel and used the two cut out poinsettias as cut work floral detailing for my corners. This sentiment comes from the same set called Luke 2:11, however, I did alternate with the holly touches in the corner either the corner egde poinsettia image from this set or the poinsettia spray image from the Blessed Christmas set!

Thanks so much for reading my post and checking out what I created for you this month. My secret word is has! Next, you need to hop over to Silke's blog and see what she has created for you! As always, thanks so much for stopping by and your comments are greatly appreciated!!! Have a Blessed Day!
