Funky Stuff

Do you need some funky in your life? Well, here it is sistah! I did this the other night with my prisma color pencils and some markers. I have a little plate that a friend gave me with a very similiar design. This is somewhat digitally altered on Flickr. If you have followed me for any amount of time, you know I can't resist a good digital altering. I think it came out pretty funky/cool. It has been a crazy weekend already. Cody is coming home on Saturday the 25th of April. Guess what else is happening that day? ....The funky finds in Fort Worth. So, I won't be here when Cody comes home. But, I will be here Sunday. I'm going crazy trying to get everything ready for the Funky Finds. I'm very excited. I am just glad to get to spend time with Renea and Lisa. It would be nice to sell some things too so I can add to my secret (shhhh don't tell my husband who never reads my blog) fund for our 25th anniversary trip to Seattle. He knows we are planning to g

Inexpensive Christmas Gift Idea

I have an inexpensive Christmas gift idea for an interesting and personal piece of art. Here is a picture of the one I just created. The photo probably does not do it justice. Here are the instructions: 1. Go to your word processor-like Word or Works and type in words that are meaningful to the person for whom the gift is being made....I typed in our family names, dogs names, hobbies, etc-and then copy the text to the clipboard 2. Go to Worlde this link here 3. Click in the "paste in a bunch of text" box and paste your text from your clipboard 4. click the "Go" underneath the box 5. Look at what you made! Then, you can change it up using the buttons.....just play around until you get what you like. 6. Print it out on photo paper 7. Use that print out for your art 8. Or, go to copy shop and get a larger copy 9. Buy a frame-I got mine at Michaels and used my 40% off coupon 10. Wrap it up- Wala- Beautiful and thoughtful art gift....Yay for you

OMG Where Have I Been?

This is a digitally altered image of a painting I did recently with journaling in the layers. I liked the digital alteration much better. Can you believe I went so long without blogging? What is wrong with me?! I have been busy with life issues and though I keep doing art...seems like I can't finish anything. But, I'm kinda pumped up this weekend. I am doing some polymer clay tin containers and I made several polymer clay faces-that are in the oven right now. I just feel like working with the clay. Oh, have you got the latest issue of Cloth,Paper, Scissors? There are several things that inspired me. I want to do that recipe swap! I think I will do something on my grandmother's chocolate mayonaise cake or her yellow cake muffins. It has to be something about my grandmother. I love Cloth, Paper, Scissors! The cover alone this month is so beautiful. It just gets me so inspired! There is a great article on page 76 about a woman with Panic Disorder and how her art has helped h

Creative Tools For Your Photos

I have had so much fun playing around with all the fun tools available for tweaking your photos. I created this one this morning. Yes, that is what it would look like if I was a famous artist. They will come for miles and miles to view my art-(insert sigh here) heehee. This tool can be found at http://www.dumpr.net/ It would be easier to do if you had a flickr account. I'm almost finished with my kitchen project. I still have to put a poly finish on the cabinets and I need a few more little doodads to put up on the walls. It was a hard pr0ject mostly because of the border scraping I spoke of last time. NEVER AGAIN!!! JUST SAY NO TO BORDER. I have had the last 4 days off from work. My husband and son went on a little trip together so it was just me and my daughter. You would think that I might have taken that time to relax and "gather my thoughts" but no, I had the psychotic idea to do the kitchen. I am so sore in my legs and back from getting up and down from the stool
