Flow

I have been working on my journal like I said I would using the Creative Entrepreneur workbook by Lisa Sonora Beam.  This is just one of my entries.  Today we are going to Midland to have dinner and shop just a bit.  I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.

The Creative Entrepreneur

I have looked at this book for a long time at the book store.  I hesitated to get it because my first thought was that it was too right brain and not enough of the business side.  But gradually as time when by, I realized that this is the perfect book for the creative individual who struggles with their creative goals.  It is a "DIY Visual Guidebook for Making Business Ideas Real". Keep in mind I have only started the first chapter and this is all strictly an account of my creative journey. I have this burning desire to live a life of creativity!  I dream of someday actually earning a living doing the very thing I love! Maybe you feel this way too?  Without going into "excuse mode" I will confess that I have many barriers to my success.  It is totally up to me to remove the barriers.  I think this book will help me to further explore my personal road to creative success.  It is set up journal style which appeals to me right off.  I hope to ...

iPod Joy...no Ecstasy

I finally bought my first ipod ! For several years I have wanted one. I just could not bring myself to spend over $200.00 on one (for me that is). Both of the kids and the hubby had one though. (Hello, my name is Lesley Chandler and I am a poor abused/neglected mother and wife... LOL ). I have known about podcasts for some time now and always thought that if I ever get myself an iPod that I would love podcasts ....TRUE THAT!!! Oh, first let me say that I was wrong about the price! Not all of the iPods are that expensive. They vary in terms of space and price. More space....more price. So, I got an Ishuffle for only 45.00 at walmart which says it has enough space for about 250 songs ( I believe that is what it said). So I bought it. I could not wait to get home and download Itunes . After I got all that done, I downloaded some of my favorite music using my Paypal account....YES, isn't that great?...they accept Paypal . Then, I clicked on the PODCAST section. Then ART (oh yes) ...

Seven More Days Until Christmas

OM gosh, only 7 days. The panic is setting in. I think I must work better under pressure because I'm suddenly making lists...checking them twice....etc. Anyhoo, just a few things to share this morning..... Debbie over at Suburb Sanity featured me in her blog! Well, I say "featured" as it seems a little more special then saying "mentioned". Anyway, if you don't visit her blog, you are missing out on lots of laughs. She is very good at capturing the day in the life of women, mothers, etc....to me, she is a lot like Erma Bombeck. I hope she will write a book someday. She has over 99 followers, maybe you can add to her numbers. Oilcloth: Yesterday, I was listening to Martha Stewart 112 on serius radio and she was talking about making oilcloth placemats. I have been interested in making oilcloth somethings for some time but could never find oilcloth. Here is the link she suggests for purchasing oilcloth But she also gave some tips about sewing oilcloth. She sa...

Early Bird Gets the Worm

Yes, it is early. I'm enjoying my coffee (my worm) and updating my blog. More about the bird pic in a minute. We got to go see Cody in San Antonio this weekend. We took his girlfriend Nadia with us and we all had a nice time. It was just good to spend time with him before he goes to Camp Bolus for 3 weeks. We won't get to see him during that time. I took my pens and colored pencils and canvas and used the idol time in the car and hotel to draw and color. I created 5 new ink/pencil drawings. This bird is one of my favorites. I did list this and another in my Etsy shop last night. I also ordered some prints that will be available soon. I have returned to that book The Secret to refresh the positive message in my mind. I really feel like the message is so good. If you have not read it, I do recommend it. I want to get it on cd so I can listen to it occasionally in my car. I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed day. Love Ya! Lesley

The Secret

A friend of mine recommended this book and I am so glad she did. I am only half way through and I am totally moved and inspired by the ideas. The secret is nothing new....no new idea really. It is all about how powerful the mind is and how we create our own reality by our thoughts. The Secret is based on biblical principles but I would not say it is a heavily religious book. The author refers to the 'Law of Attraction' a lot in the book. I highly recommend this book! It is awsome. I have started my apron too as Renea discusses at Pocket Full of Prettys . I can't wait to see Reneas apron because I know it is going to be cute. We just wanted to wear something that would add to the element of fun to this workshop I am doing next weekend. By the way, I believe at least 10 women will attend. I have prayed specifically for at least 10 people and I believe that they will be there. I learned this in the book. You have to 1) ask the universe (for me it is God) the thing you desire ...
