Grateful Sunday

We've been in a rather celebratory mood ever since we closed on our house on Friday. We went out to dinner, to the movies, and ice skating this weekend. The big kids could have skated for hours. Miles was done after one lap. Today, I'm grateful for:
  • the decision we made to go with a modest house which easily fits into our budget. It brings us so much peace knowing we will be living comfortably and within our means.
  • the prospect of simplifying, starting with our furniture and toys. Yard sale, anyone?
  • our health and strength.
  • my fabulous trip with the ladies in my family. We had so much fun, can't wait to do it again!
  • chilly weather and the occasional fall-hued tree, hooray!

I like the idea of simplifying too... just easier said than done. It's amazing how quickly you can get attached to things - it takes some courage to downsize.

Congratulations on the new house! And your trip to NY with sisters looks dreamy! So glad you go to see Mehrsa, too--we loved staying with her last year when we were there. Can you believe we'v all reconnected after over a decade? Nothing like London to bring friends together. Love checking your blogs--you family is darling and I love all your design ideas...can't wait to see the progress on the new house.

i've said it before and i'll say it again - the kids are growing too fast! audrey looks so lovely - such a grown up little lady. but honestly, if y'all want a REAL ice skating experience, come on out - the ice is ready for you outside!
and i cannot wait to see the new house...hopefully in person.

I second the staying within or under budget. We have always done that when buying a house and it's SO nice. Sure, we could afford more. But really, this affords us the opportunity to do so many other things. Congrats again! Oh, I love that lamp.
