Happy Birthday...

Hi everybody....well my few days off haven't gone quite according to plan...I did intend to be crafting for at least one full day that I have been off...never mind!

Somy friend asked me (well in advance this time) if I could make her a card for another friend of hers daughter...and here it is!

I thought I would try something a bit different for a wee change...so I randomly inked up the watercoloured card with a few shades using my zig pens,I left it to dry and then added the sparkly numbers.  I pierced a couple of holes at either side in order to thread the ribbon and fix it to the card.  I layered the panel onto pin cardstock and distressed the edges.  I added a sentiment from Altenew Label Love. I finished with doodled edges, sequins and splodges.

Hope you like!

Poppy Gems...

Happy Sunday everybody!!

Well I am up to my eyes in work but I ordered some new crafty goodies and this stamp was one of my new purchases.  I am off down south in the morning to the Bulmers cider mill to meet some important people....and of course work!!  I'm there for three days so back late on Wednesday.

I couldn't wait to stamp and colour up this stamp as I have been eyeing it up for ages, it's from Penny Black and is called Poppy Gems.

I white embossed the image but left a section off the card...so that isn't the full image you can see.  I then coloured the image using my watercolour pens.  I gradually added colour building up the layers and I think it looks ok...I am still practising.  I also added some shading around the flowers as I think it helped them to pop out. I added a sentiment and some sequins, pearls and gems.

Iam actually loving white embossing at the moment...it is very therapeutic watercolouring over embossing, it helps not to go over the lines too....so there may be more to come lol!

I added some doodling to the edges and layered onto black card. The background paper is from The Sweet Shoppe which I also layered onto black card. I added a piece of lace for something extra.

I'm so sorry...

Hi everyone, hope you are well!

I thought I would share my wee card I made using the fabulous new Spectrum Noir Aquablend pencils, I have to say they are amazing!!  You can buy them from the Crafter's companion store...here!

The stamp I have used is called Gigi the Giraffe from Stamping Bella....isn't he just so cute?  I coloured the stamp using the pencils...they are soo easy to use.  Once I stamped the image I took the pencil to the card and just gradually added a bit of colour and then blended it with a wet brush...gradually built up the layers until I was happy with the colour.

Here's a close up of the coloured image....I don't normally add an extra close up but I am so impressed with these pencils that I needed to share the close up...I hope you likey!

Pop over to the Spectrum Noir Blog for more inspiration!

Spectrum Noir Guest card

Good morning folks and I am sharing my next card as guest designer for Spectrum Noir.

This week I am doing a tutorial on clouds and grass, never done one before so no video just photos...hope you can follow!!

Step 1. I stamped this cute little image from LOTV onto white card.

Step 2. I drew with a pencil the shape of the clouds.

Step 3. I then went over the pencil lines with IG2.

Step 4. I then used IG1 and pulled the colour from IG2 away from the edges using feather strokes.

Step 5. I then used HB2 and went over the grey lines on the bottom edge of the clouds.

Step 6. I then used the blender and coloured the cloud in to blend the grey and the lilac together.

Step 7. I then went over the outside edge of the clouds with IG1 again...and added a bit of shading to the tops of the clouds too.

Step 8. I then coloured the sky with feather like strokes using IB1 and BT1 and then gently used IG1 to gently random shade.

Step 9. I then coloured in the little fairy using FS2, FS6, PP1, PP2, DR5, CR10, CG1, CG2.

Step 10. I added grass in various shades of green..CG1, CG2, DG2, DG3, GB10, GB8 using fine feather V type strokes, I found it easier to turn the image upside down and pull the pen towrads me, I felt I could do finer lines and was more in control of the pen this way.

Step 11. I then trimmed the image to size and then layered it on to blue cardstock.  The background papers is also from LOTV which I thought matched perfectly, I had to add some doodled lines around the edges and finished with a bow and some tiny pearls...oh and yes her wings have been glittered up.

Step 12.  The final card....hope you likey!!
