Meme.....only 6 words.....?

Oh gosh....panic! I just found a comment on my blog from Wren at Wrenaissance Reflections, tagging me for the 6 Word Memoir Meme ! I didn't even know what a meme was! And I'm totally ignorant about adding all the links that I'm suppose to put in, so I hope I get them right! My first 6-word thought was "Confused Blogger comes to complete standstill!"

The meme rules are:
1. Write your own six word memoir

2. Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you’d like

3. Link to the person that tagged you in your post and to the original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogosphere

4. Tag five more blogs with links

5. And don’t forget to leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play!

Apparently Hemmingway started all of this with his 6 word memoir: "For Sale: baby shoes never worn". Hmmm...I think that Hemmingway is much more profound than I'll ever be!

Six words is not very many words......for people who like to ramble in blogs (that's me).
Six words is a LOT of words for people who are shy (that's me). Sigh.....

I would love to use the words of Paul written in Galatians..."Not I, but Christ in me"....but that is his 6 word meme. I chose the name of my blog to reflect 3 major things about me.....my faith always first and foremost, my love of fabric and quilting, and my love of photographs and the memories that go with them. I guess the meme I choose, would be an expansion of that title......"Faith, fabric, photos...glorifying God's grace". I hope that all I do honor's God in some way for the grace he has shown me in Christ, and I certainly see his glory all around me in nature and every aspect of my life. I don't know how to show a picture of faith, but my fabric and photos are there in my blog every day :-)
I will choose 5 of the bloggers with great blogs that I enjoy, but put no pressure on anyone to play! For all I know you may have already been tagged, or just don't wish to take part. I never dreamed when I started my "semi-private" little blog for my family and a handful of friends that some day I would be conversing with bloggers from Canada, Great Britian, Norway, and all over the United States! Actually, I never thought anyone other than my family would read it :-) I enjoy the friends that I'm finding here in the world of blogs, and all the wonderful blogs they write. I am amazed to know so many others share the same rabid passion for nature and writing that I do (although my blog wasn't intended to be a nature blog). I am glad to have found such nice friends :-)

OK....my 5 tags (from the limited blogs that I visit) would be:
Me and My Camera nature tales and camera trails

Sandpiper Sandpiper's Place

Brucesc, bruce-sc-pix

Kingsdowner, Kingsdowner

Mike Fenny, Fenphotography Blog

I hope this won't make any of you sorry that you visit my blog :-) Play if you wish...don't if you don't want to.

Oh, gosh, the pressure..LOL....to do a meme--something I'd never heard of till yesterday! It will take me a while--I am very wordy. I like yours very much,Mary. Unlike Hemingway's, which is so sad, mine will have some humor, I'm sure. Thanks for choosing me though!

I felt the panic, too! I had noticed them on other people's blogs, but didn't really know what it was. I'm way too wordy for just 6 words to sum up my life! I'll look forward to what you have to say...I know it will be very good! I don't want anyone to feel they have to do this.

Wonderful! Nice memoir. Thank you, but, oh no!! You took my Bruce away from me!! LOL Too bad, she's going to be tagged twice because I don't know very many bloggers yet. She will love that!! ;-)

brucesc said...

No, she won't!! LOL. But I can use the same one for both, right?

I see no reason why Bruce can't represent both of us...I guess some of us just don't have a huge blog "family" out there. Glad to know you are going to try it anyway, both of you! I felt sort of "pushy" asking people to do it.

Great memoir, Mary! Don't worry about picking the same people as others, it's a small blogging world and everyone runs into that. Thanks for being a good sport and getting into the spirit of the meme.

I'm glad you didn't ask me. Coming up with six words would be tough!

I realize that engineers are "doers" rather than talkers, but I've never known you to be at a loss for words in the 28 years I've known you :-)

You weren't pushy at all. We just know all the same people and in my case, it's not very many. ;-)

28 years???? Is that 28 good years out of 38 years? Emily might be suprised!

Great idea Mary, but ohboy ohboy ohboy the pressure :-|

I keep running out of fingers.......

As for the little family, I was astonished to see that my blog had been hit by people from 13 countries today, from Estonia to Peru.

Mike: My humble apologies...you know what it is like to get old and forgetful. Those other 10 years just slipped my mind :-) I've been making lots of typing errors lately. And they are all GOOD years :-)

Kingsdowner: Glad to know you are going to try it! Wow...13? I got a new foreign hit the other day, too...India! It's a bit overwhelming when you thought you were just starting a little blog for your family. Yours is well worth the hits you get. Keep up the good work!

Wren: Bet you didn't know that asking me would set off panic in so many other people :-) I think we all concentrate on our photography and forget about our writing most of the time..and we think we are sort of annonymous and no one really knows we are here.

All the excitement I've been missing! I've been away all day and have just returned to find all this meme talk going on... seems like I'm a latecomer to the party and might even have to claim wallflower status as I know very few bloggers either, and most all the ones that drop by with a comment at my place now and then have already been mentioned...

"oh me oh my I'll try"

.... hey! I think I just wrote a six word memoir! :-)

Glad to have you join the party! As well as you write haiku poetry, I know you can do a 6 word memoir! I'd say if you don't know 5 to tag, just tag whoever you can and post your own meme.
