Spellbinders - A Gilded Life - Vintage Rosette Birthday Card

Hello blogging friends!  Today, I have a card to share with you using some of the New  A Gilded Life die templates from Spellbinders Paper Arts®.  I am loving the New product line from A Gilded Life!  It's so romantic, vintage and shabby--so be prepared to see a lot of projects--LOL!

Here is the card that I designed using GLLD-006 Belgian Lace and GLLD-002 Imperial Border.  These are two of the long dies--almost 8'' long--but they can be trimmed down too.  For this card 6x6 I trimmed the die cuts a little.  I used the GLLD-006 Belgian Lace die template to create layered die cuts for the background on the card.  I used Simply Smooth Ivory and Oatmeal colored cardstock and then I lightly inked over the die cut with Antique Linen ink to make the embossed detail really pop.  I used the GLLD-002 Imperial Border die template to make the rosette.  I used vintage sheet music and die cut four of the borders.  Then I lightly inked the outer edges with Antique Linen ink. I cut off the rounded ends on the die cuts, glued them into one long strip, did the fan fold and glued into place to create the rosette.

Here is a close up of the rosette.  I added some vintage lace trim to the front and back of the rosette, a few WOC flower and then I edged the rosette with Silver Stickles.

I added some vintage lace trim and WOC Flowers to the corners, a vintage style image, White Seam Binding from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and a handmade stick pin.  For the stick pin I used some beads from my stash and a few Bead Caps and Rondelles from ButterBeeScraps.

This card was on display at CHA in the Spellbinders Paper Arts® booth for the new A Gilded Life product line.  At the time when I was designing the card I forgot to take step-shot pictures so I don't have any photos for creating the rosette.  But if you would like to see a tutorial on it leave a comment and let me know.  If I have some requests for it then I will do a tutorial.  ;-)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I hope you are having a wonderful week!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Frog & Water Lily Clear Stamp Set-JustRite Papercraft September New Release Day 6

Hello blogging friends!  Today is the 6th and final day of the JustRite Papercraft September New Release and the Design Team is showcasing two stamp sets.

The first stamp set is CR-04730 Frog & Water Lily Clear Stamp Set.  This stamp set has beautiful images to color.  I love the little dragonflies!

The second set is CR-04755 Baking Antique Tags One Clear Stamp Set.  This set would be great to make gift tags to go with some yummy goodies.

For my project I used the CR-04730 Frog & Water Lily Clear Stamp Set.  I can't believe I have made two cards this week using yellow.  Yellow isn't a color I am normally drawn to but I have been trying to do some different color combinations and step out of my comfort zone a little.  Turns out I really love this color combination with the soft yellow, teal and white.

These are the Copic markers I used to color the image.  The colors are also listed in the supplies.

Here is a close up of the image.  I used S4-408 Rounded Squares to die cut the image.  Then I stamped the dragon fly, colored with Copics, fussy cut and added some diamond stickles to the wings.

For some embellishments I added a couple of stick pins, a beautiful bow made with May Arts sheer ribbon and a gorgeous rhinestone cluster to the center of the bow.  I was gifted the rhinestone piece from my sweet friend Irene, she is Craftyirina on YouTube.

I used S6-001 5x7 Matting Basics A die template and EL-032 Ocean Dreams M-bossabilities Folder on the card front.  To finish off the card I added some white pearls in the corners.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!  I will be back next week to share more artwork with you--taking a day or two off from the blog. ;-)

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Thinking of You Card & Stamping with Glue Technique

Hello blogging friends!  I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!  Today, I have a card and another tutorial to share with you using the Stamping with Glue Technique with Scrap Happy Sheer Glue from the The Rubber Cafe`.

Here is the card that I designed using the D-498 Script Background stamp and Scrap Happy Sheer Glue along with a couple colors of You're So Fine Glitter to create the sparkling script on the pattern paper.  The pretty pattern paper is from the Bo Bunny Prairie Chic 6 x 6 Paper Pad.

To start I apply some of the Scrap Happy Sheer Glue to the D-498 Script Background using a makeup sponge.  I make a little puddle of glue on some scrap paper, dab the sponge into the glue and apply to the stamp.  If you have never done the Stamping with Glue technique you might want to try it on a scrap piece of paper a couple of time.  You want a nice coat of glue, not too thick and clumpy because you won't get a clear image and not to thin because then your stamp might stick to the paper.  Also you need to wash your stamp/s right away.  I just use some soap and warm water with a little scrub brush.  Here's a little tip--a tooth brush is great for scrubbing stamps--it has small softer bristles and can get in to all of the little spots on the stamps. ;-)  Also, don't worry about your glue drying and not having enough time to apply the glitter.  The great thing about the Scrap Happy Sheer Glue is that it drys tacky so it is prefect for the Stamping with Glitter technique!

This is what the pattern paper looked like after I stamped it with the glue.  Can you see the script pattern?

Next, I applied some of the You're So Fine Glitter-Bronze Medal in a few areas.  I took a little pinch of glitter, sprinkled it on the paper and then used my fingers to rub it in.  Real technical--LOL!  When using  more then one color of glitter work in small sections, rub in the glitter and tap off the excess as you go.  This will keep the glitter from getting on all of the areas of glue.

Then I used You're So Fine Glitter-Princess Pink to apply the second layer of glitter.

Here is a close up of the glittery script background on the pattern paper.  As a reminder you can click the images to enlarge them.

Here is a close up of the center of the card.  I used J-1095 Fabulous Phrases and B-217 Daisy Splash to stamp the sentiment and flowers.  I used Lilac Posies and Desert Sand Memento inks from Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko.  Then I used the Artisan X-Plorer™ and S3-205 Petite Labels One Die D-Lite to cut/emboss the little label.  I added some Edna Natural Crochet Lace Trim and a Sun Rose Seam Binding bow from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The Sun Rose Seam Binding matched the Lilac Posies ink perfectly!  The butterfly is from Recollections and I spritzed it with Pssst! Sheer Shimmer Spritz Sparkle and added Diva Pink Jellie Dots.  I used my handy Stick "EM" Up Tool for perfect placement of the Jellie Dots.  It's a great little tool for picking up small embellishments.  To finish off the card I added some ivory roses and a handmade stick pin.

For the solid paper I used Simply Smooth Ivory and Kraft from DiscountCardstock.com.  To create the mats I used S5-131 A2 Matting Basics AS5-132 A2 Matting Basics B from Spellbinders Creative Arts™.

So what do you think about the Stamping with Glue technique?  Is it something you would like to try or have you done this technique before?

A few pictures from the Twins game yesterday and the Twins won!!  The guys had great seats and a fantastic time at the game!!

For my project I designed a card using two of the ribbons and the white crochet lace trim in the April Ribbon Club Assortment Apple/Turquoise.  The pattern paper is from Prima Firefly Collection 6 x 6 Paper Stack and it matches the ribbon perfectly.

Here is a close up of the ribbon.  I used the stripe ribbon and the crochet lace trim to create a border across the bottom.  Then I used the turquoise ribbon and crochet lace trim to make the bow.  To create the flower die cuts I used Simply Smooth White cardstock and F-014 Delicate Pastels Premium Craft Foils Assortment Spring Green and S3-206 Asters and Poppies die templates.  The S3-206 Asters and Poppies are from the new Die D-Lites collection from Spellbinders Creative Arts™.  I added some pearls and bling to the flowers  and I added a couple of stickpins.

Here is a close up of the stickpins.  The stickpin with the pearls, yellow bead, frosted flower bead cap and blue/green bead is handmade.

For the sentiment I used Memento Teal Zeal ink and a stamp from CR-04460 Celebration Labels One & Bracket One stamp set from JustRite Papercraft.  To create the label die cut I used  S3-205 Petite Labels One and Simply Smooth White cardstock.  I also added a little bling to the label and I added some diamond stickles to the pattern paper.

I used S5-131 A2 Matting Basics A to cut/emboss the pattern paper.  To create the embossed paper I used

Sno Cone cardstock and EL-020 Awesome Blossoms folder and I used  S6-001 5 x 7 Matting Basics A die template.  To make the embossed area pop a little more I addd Memento Teal Zeal ink.  The card base is Chamios Cascata Felt cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed my project and you find lots of inspiration on the blog hop!

JustRite Papercraft April New Release Day One

Hello blogging friends!  Today, is the first day of the April New Releases for JustRite Papercraft.  We have another beautiful release of stamps and fabulous projects to share from the Design Team.

Before I get to the New Release I want to share some exciting news with you.  JustRite Papercraft now has Gelatos from Faber-Castell Design-Memory-Craft on the website and they are on sale!  The sale is 20% Off ALL Background Stamps and Faber-Castell Design-Memory-Craft Gelatos and Gelato Accessories.  The sale ends April 9th!

Here is the first New Release for April, CL-04485 Floral Thanks You.  This stamp set has two beautiful floral image, which work wonderfully with the Gelatos and six sentiments.

This is the card that I designed using the CL-04485 Floral Thanks You stamp set from JustRite Papercraft and Gelatos.  The finished size of the card is a 5 x 7.

I started with a piece of Simply Smooth White cardstock and I embossed the floral image using VersaMagic Midnight Black ink from Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko and clear embossing powder.  Next, I started to add color with the Gelatos.  I started with Lavender at the top and then went to the Cotton Candy and then I used Blueberry for the bottom.  I just used my finger to blend the colors and I also blended the colors where they came together on the paper.  Once I had all of the coloring done I used S6-005
5 x 7 Elegant Labels Four die template from Spellbinders Creative Arts™ to cut/emboss the image.

Here is a close up of the embossed floral image from the CL-04485 Floral Thanks You stamp set.

Next I used the larger die template in the S6-005
5 x 7 Elegant Labels Four set and cut/embossed the die cut using Black Licorice cardstock.  I also used S6-001 5 x 7 Matting Basics A die template with Sno Cone cardstock.  I layered the mats together and then used 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ to layer and add dimension to the die cut with the floral image.  I stamped and embossed the word Hello on to a piece of Sno Cone cardstock and then I used S5-177 A2 Filigree Delight die template to create the tag.  To finish off the card I used Blueberry Gelato to edge the Sno Cone cardstock.  Then I added a bow made with Strawberry Glaze Seam Binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon, some Recollections bling and a handmade stickpin.

Please be sure to visit each Design Team Member in the link list below to see what they have created to share with you.  Also don't forget to check out the great sale with the JustRite Papercraft Background Stamps and then Faber-Castell Design-Memory-Craft Gelatos and Gelato Accessories.

This is the JustRite Papercraft Prize Package that will be given away on the Faber-Castell Blog.  You will need to click HERE and leave a comment on the Faber-Castell Blog for a chance to win this prize package.

For my project I altered a canvas.  I used three background stamps and two other stamp sets from JustRite Papercraft and markers and gelatos from Faber-Castell Design-Memory-Craft to go from a white canvas to a beautiful and colorful canvas.

I used Mod Podge to apply the strips of paper and then I brushed Gesso over the entire piece.  In some areas I applied the Gesso an little thicker but I was careful not to completely cover the image.

Next I used a combination of Gelatos to lay down the base colors.  These are to colors I used BoysenberryCotton CandyBubble GumGuavaLavenderGrape.  Then I used PITT Artist Pen Big Brush to add more depth to the canvas and these are the colors I used--Light Cobalt Turquoise 154Cobalt Blue 143Pink Madder Lake 129.  Both the Gelatos and PITT Artist Pen Big Brush are so easy to work with!  The Gelatos are so rich and creamy and easy to blend and the PITT Artist Pen Big Brush are so vibrant and they can also be blended while they are wet.

I used a baby wipe to carefully remove some of the color.  I used Krylon Crystal Clear Satin to seal the canvas.

I wanted to really make the canvas pop so I colored the edges with PITT Artist Pen Big Brush Cold Grey IV 235 and then I blended to edges on the top of the canvas while the ink was still wet.

I wanted to tone down the colors just a little bit so I went back over the canvas with Gesso.

I used the PITT Artist Pen Big Brush Cold Grey IV 235 with CR-03680 Classic Lace Edges One stamp set to create a decorative edge around the canvas.  For stamping on to the canvas I didn't use acrylic blocks.  I just used the marker to apply the ink to the stamp, carefully picked the stamp and applied it to the canvas.  Doing this allows you to push directly on the stamp where you need to to transfer the ink to the canvas.  When the stamp is on an acrylic block it is a lot harder to get a good image on the canvas.

To create the butterfly I used some of the Gelatos and blended them on to a piece of Simply Smooth White cardstock and then I used S4-395 Les Papillions Two die template from Spellbinders Creative Arts™ to die cut the image.

Here is a close up of the butterfly.  I used the flourish stamp from CL-04390 Butterfly Dreams with the PITT Artist Pen Big Brush Cobalt Blue 143 and Cold Grey IV 235.

The sentiment is also from the CL-04390 Butterfly Dreams stamp set and I cut it into strips and then applied it to the canvas.

Here is a close up of the flower cluster.  I used S5-086 Bitty BlossomsS5-129 Foliage Two to create the die cuts and then I made a ribbon flower using Black Sheer Box Pleats ribbon from  Really Reasonable Ribbon and added the larger rose to the center.  I also added some Recollections bling and a handmade stickpin.

For a little touch of sparkle I added some You're So Fine Glitter in Diamond Clear and Black Licorice using Scrap Happy Sheer Glue from The Rubber Cafe'.

To finish off the canvas I added Metal Filigree Corners from ButterBeeScraps.  I used Beacon Adhesives ZipDry to adhere the corners.

I had so much fun creating this canvas and working with all of the wonderful products!!

Please be sure to visit all of the Designers in the link list below to see what they have created to share with you.  Also don't forget to hop on over to the JustRite Inspiration Blog and Faber-Castell Blog and leave a comment for your chance to win one of the fabulous prize packages!

Heidi
