Just For Fun® Friday Color Challenge #3

Hello! Yesterday was the Just For Fun® Friday Color Challenge. I wasn't able to post yesterday so I am sharing my card with you today. At the bottom of my post is a link list to all of the Just For Fun® Friday Color Challenge Design Team Members and the JFF Blog. We would love for you to join in the fun and play along with the color challenge. You can click HERE to post a link to your card. The Color Challenge for this week was to use Black, Cream and a Color of Choice. For my extra added splash of color I picked Green. Here is the card that I designed for the challenge.I started with the flower image from Just For Fun® Rubber Stamps and stamped it three times with black ink onto cream cardstock and then I airbrushed it with Copic markers using G24 Willow, YG13 Chartreuse. Then I lightly sprayed some Honey Dew Mist Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels on the flowers. Once the glimmer Mist was dry then I cut out the flowers and shaped them. Next I made a rectangle and a tag diecut using the Wizard™ and Deckled Rectangles Large S4-202 Die #4, Fancy Tags S4-235 die templates from Spellbinders™. I used cream cardstock for both diecuts, on the rectangle I used Copic marker 100 Black and on the tag I used G24 Willow to airbrush. I also stamped the sentiment, Just a Note on the tag with black ink. The sentiment is from Just For Fun® Rubber Stamps. To attach the tag I used some ivory ribbon and for a little bling I added Black Rhinestones. The Black Rhinestones are from the Lush Line from My Mind's Eye.Next I worked on the background paper. The black and cream paper is from My Mind's Eye Lush Black Floral Paper line. I love all of the papers in the Lush line! I wanted to change it up a bit so I used my Copic markers to add in the greens and then I misted the entire piece with Honey Dew Mist Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels. I know a lot of people use the designer paper just as is but I love it when I can alter it up a bit and put my own spin on it. Don't be afraid to play with your designer papers! Supplies~

Just For Fun Rubber Stamps - Pink Tulips Card

OMGosh I can't believe it the sun it out today!! The snow is melting, it's almost all gone in my front yard--that's amazing! I just hope it will continue. For today I have a pretty Spring card to share with you. I love tulips and they are one of the first signs of Spring--if the bunnies don't get to them first! I started by stamping the image of the tulips onto the white cardstock. I used Worn Lipstick (pink) and Peeled Paint (green) Distress Inks from Ranger. I used the Petite Ovals Small S4-140 die templates to cut/emboss a diecut oval. Before removing the paper from the die template I airbrushed with Copic markers. I stamped the image three more times, cut out the flowers and layered them on the oval diecut with the images and then I added some glitter.Next I took a piece of white cardstock and embossed it using the Wizard and Tulips Impressabilities™ I2-1008. I left the Impressability™ in place on the cardstock and then airbrushed using Copic markers and the airbrush system. Then I used the Petite Scalloped Ovals Small S4-141 die template to cut/emboss an oval on this panel. I used pink cardstock for a base and then I added the tulip panel using foam dots and also added the center oval. I went over all of the tulips and added glitter and then also some clear acrylic dots that I airbrushed to match the card.

Here is the card I created for this weeks color challenge.

Sherry challenged us to use Pink, Green & Brown. I started out with a piece of K & Company designer paper for my background and it works perfectly for this challenge because it has all three colors! All of the stamp images are from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps®. I randomly stamped the script over the designer paper with Memento Rich Cocoa ink from Tsukineko.

Next I created the flower. I stamped the image twice and used a Copic marker (R81) for the base and then I added Pixie Pink ink to the center of the flowers and then I cut out the images. I shaped the images and then used foam mounting tape to layer the flowers and add dimension. For the center of the flower I added FlowerSoft, Pearls and a Olive Green Glaze Pen. I also punched a few twig shapes to add around the flower.

For the Friends sentiment I made a die cut using the Labels Eleven S4-246 die templates from Spellbinders™ and stamped the sentiment with brown ink, inked the edges and added some pearls. I also stamped a butterfly image, cut it out, inked it with green ink and then added stickles. I assembled the card as shown and then I added a pink ribbon and bow.

Just For Fun Rubber Stamps - Orange Wildflowers

Good morning! I can't believe how fast this week went by, but not fast enough for Spring to get here! It was snowing AGAIN when I woke up this morning, great big, huge flakes. We have so much snow right now it might be July before we see the grass. *wink* For today's card I used stamped images from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps, Brushed Wildflowers G2698 and Just a Note WB8010. I started with a piece of white cardstock and sprayed Candlelight and Coral Reef Glimmer Mist over the entire piece. Once the Glimmer Mist was dry I stamped the Brushed Wildflower image first using Spiced Marmalade and then with Peeled Paint distress inks from Ranger. Next I sprayed Coral Reef Glimmer Mist over the entire frame and once the Glimmer Mist was dry then I took the Spiced Marmalade ink pad and rubbed over the entire frame. The ink picked up on the embossed areas of the frame and gave it the pop it needed. Using the Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint Distress Inks I inked the stamp and then misted it with water, then stamped the image. Misting it with water allows the colors to blend. I cut out the stamped image and added the frame and layered it onto the background piece. On the bottom of the card I stamped the sentiment and then added some velvet ribbon using Fabri-Tac from Beacon Adhesives and pearls. I also added some pearls to the frame. I layered the background piece with olive green and white for the card base.

Good morning! Today is the Just For Fun® Design Team Hop and all of the Design Team Members have been busy creating . Please be sure to hop on over and visit each of them and see some creative inspiration and there will be some Blog Candy too!! I will have a link list for all of the Just For Fun® Designers at the bottom of this post along with a couple pictures of some Blog Candy! Here is the card that I created for today's JFF® Design Team Hop. I used several stamp images from Just For Fun® to create a collage look. As I was making the card I decided to take pictures of each step and create a tutorial to share with you. The collage look is not a hard one to achieve it just takes a few step.Step 1~I started with a 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of white cardstock and used Antique Linen Ink with a script stamp and randomly stamped the image. Step 2~ I added the tulips on each side using Peeled Paint Ink.Step 3~I used Worn Lipstick and Broken China Ink on the lady and butterfly collage image and I used the Rock-n-Roll technique. For the Rock-n-Roll technique ink the image up with one color (usually the lighter color) and then add the second ink only to the edges of the image. When you do this you place the ink pad on the edge of the stamp and kind of rock-n-roll it going around the edges. Steps 4 & 5~Using the Broken China ink stamp the butterfly images in the top corners. Sometimes the distress inks take a little longer to dry and I didn't want the embossing powder to get on the other images so I used my heat tool and heat set the inks before moving on to the next step. I used the flourish stamp with gold pigment ink going around the edges and then I used gold embossing powder and heat set.Step 6~ For the bottom half of the paper I added Peeled Paint ink using a cotton ball in a circular motion to create a nice soft inked effect.Step 7~ For the top half of the paper I used Broken China ink. I applied the ink as mentioned above and I also added the same color of ink to the inside of the butterfly image.Step 8~ Using Gem-Tac from Beacon Adhesives I applied Tiny Twinkles (black rhinestones) from Taylored Expressions to the center of the larger flowers in the flourish image. Here is a close-up of the Tiny Twinkles.Step 9~ I added a black mat to the stamped image and then for the card base I wanted to add a little more of the blue so I inked the edges of the card base with Broken China ink.Step 10~I created a tag for the sentiment using the Fancy Tags S4-235 and Labels Trio S3-147 die templates from Spellbinders™. On the Labels Trio tag I added some Peeled Paint ink and on the word sticker I added Broken China ink. I layered the tags and the word sticker using foam tape from 3M.Here is a close-up of the embossing.Another close-up.Here is another look at the finished card. I took this picture at an angle so you would be able to see the pretty gold embossed detail.

Just For Fun Rubber Stamps - Fair Maiden

Hello! For today's card I have used several stamps from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps, Fair Maiden H2362, Flower Sprig D3379, Bracket A3260, Eiffel Tower D2361, Great Gams B3217, Paris IX AA2353. I started by stamping the images using Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I also did some masking with the stamped images. Then I did a wrinkle free distress technique with the paper. To do this I used several colors of Ranger Distress inks, Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Broken China (blue), Peeled Paint (green), Dusty Concord (purple), Worn Lipstick (pink), a craft mat, spray bottle with water and a heat tool. I press the different colors of pads onto the craft mat, mist with water and place the paper on top. Then lift up the paper and heat set. I do this several times until I achieve a look I like.

Here is a close up of the background so you can see the distress look on the paper.Next I used a Pink Souffle Pen and Glaze Pens Watermelon 819, Aqua 825, Purple 824, White 800 from Sakura to go over certain areas on the images and to add a little dimension. In the picture above (on the flowers) you can see once the ink is dry there is some dimension. To finish of the card I took a chipboard tag and sprayed Sweet Pea Glimmer Mist on the entire tag, heat set to dry and then stamped the sentiment. I also inked the edges of the tag, added some tiny bits of bling and attached the chipboard tag with black sheer ribbon.

Just For Fun Rubber Stamps Announcement!!!

Today I have Special Announcement! Please help me in Welcoming Terre Fry to the Just For Fun Rubber Stamps Design Team!! I am so happy Terre will be joining us!! Terre and I have been friends for a while now and she is very creative and talented. She is one of the sweetest people I know and has a fantastic sense of humor. WELCOME Terre!!! I can't wait to see all of the beautiful things you create!!

The past few days I have been creating cards with a lot of Spring colors--it must be wishful thinking for some warmer weather--LOL! For this card I used three images, G2479 3+1 Faux Post, A3378 Butterfly, G2698 Brushed Wildflowers and one sentiment WB8010 Just a Note from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps. I also used the 3+1 Faux Post Template G2479T for Stenciling. Here is a close up of the images. I started by stamping the stamp grid unto white cardstock with black ink. Then I placed the template on top of the image and taped it down to hold in place while I was stamping and inking. I stamped the images and then I added the different colors of Ranger Distress ink using a cotton ball. For the large rectangle I used Spiced Marmalade (orange) and then for the three smaller rectangles (starting at the top) I used Broken China (blue), Worn Lipstick (pink) and Peeled Paint (green). On a scrap piece of paper I stamped the butterfly images four more times, cut them out and added them on top of the other image. I also used several colors of stickles for some added sparkle. To create the tag I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock with black ink. Then I cut/embossed the paper using the Fancy Tags S4-235 die templates from Spellbinders™. I think this is one of my all time favorite tags! I left the cardstock in the die template and used the template as a stencil and added color with the inks. I also added some green lace trim to the bottom of the card and some dew drops to the corner edge and tag.

Here is a little tip I want to share with you. If you have an unmounted stamp and it is too big for the area in which you would like to use it you can cut your stamp.

I wanted to use the "Thinking of You" sentiment on the tag but it was too long so I made a straight cut right after the word Thinking. If you make a straight cut then you can line up the stamp perfectly and have two different ways you can use it. In the picture above the stamp is cut and you can't even tell. Supplies~

Just For Fun Rubber Stamps - Angel in Flight

Good morning! I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday weekend, your fill of yummy foods, spending time with family and friends and maybe a little shopping thrown in along the way. We have had a really nice and relaxing weekend.

For today I have a Christmas card to share with you. I love these soft aqua colors and I was really happy with how the card turned out. The stamped images are from Just for Fun Rubber Stamps. I started with stamping the image of the Angel in Flight G2504 and then coloring with Copics. Once I had the coloring done then I cut out the image. Then I added glitter to the hair and dress of the angel. The next piece I worked on was the sheet music. I stamped the image of the sheet music Glorious Song H2503 and then used distress inks Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Broken China (Blue), Milled Lavender on my craft mat along with some water to create the color in the background. Then I distressed the edges. After I had the two stamped images done I set them aside and worked on the snowflake background and the snowflake frame. To achieve the look of the snowflake background I took a piece of white cardstock and ran it through the Wizard™ with the Snowflake Impressabilites I2-1003 from Spellbinders™ and then I used the side with the embossed snowflakes and added ink to get the snowflakes to pop and distressing on the edges. For the frame I used a piece of light aqua colored craft paper from 3M. The paper is Post-it Craft Paper and it is available in 20 different colors all with a white core (with the exception of the black). The other things I really like about the craft paper is that it has an adhesive backing which makes it perfect for using in the Wizard™ and die cutting! I used the Snowflake Frame S5-017 die template from Spellbinders™ and sanded over the embossed areas to reveal the white core. I also made a little Christmas bouquet for the angel using the Martha Stewart twig punch, Ivory Flower Soft and tiny rhinestones. I assembled the card as shown and then I also added some ivory lace and pom-pom trim at the bottom of the card. To finish off the card I created a snowflake embellishment using the Create a Flake Two S4-223 die template from Spellbinders™ and a snowflake brad. I also added coarse crystal glitter around the edges.

Just For Fun Rubber Stamps - Drama Queen

Good morning and Happy Saturday! Today I have two cards to share with you. Both of the cards use the same stamps from Just for Fun Rubber Stamps and have the same layout but different colors of ink. Just by using different colors of ink you can achieve a totally different look! Before I show you the cards lets take a look at the stamps I used. Here is a list of the stamps I used from Just for Fun, Drama Queen E3042, Beauty Pageant C3218, Eiffel Tower D2361, French Script F1849, Paris IX AA2353, Bracket A3260. I love the vintage style stamps!

Ok, are you ready to take a look at the cards I created? *wink*For the first card I used several tones of brown creating a monochromatic card. The second card is multi-colored and several elements have been distressed giving it more of an artsy look. As you can see I used the same layout for the stamps on each card. I started by using the Beauty Pageant C3218 stamp to create the background. I just eyeballed the placement of the stamps but if you have a tool that will help line up the stamps for you that might be very helpful for creating the background.

Let's take a look at the monochromatic card. Here is a close up of the images and you can see all the stamps. For the background stamp I used Vintage Photo ink and for all of the other images I used Rich Cocoa which is a darker brown. After I stamped the images then I misted the stamped panel with Iridescent Glimmer Mist, distressed and inked the edges. The flourish is a piece of grungeboard and I started by inking it with Vintage Photo then I misted it with Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist, heat set, added Rock Candy and Gold Stickles and then heat set again. Normally you would just let the stickles air dry but I wanted to see what kind of effect I would get by heat setting. It kind of baked into the grungeboard, but I really like the look and texture of it. Also on the light tan mat I used Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist along with the Garden Blossom Glimmer Screen to create the background.Supplies~for Monochromatic Card
Stamps~Just for Fun Rubber Stamps-Drama Queen E3042, Beauty Pageant C3218, Eiffel Tower D2361, French Script F1849, Paris IX AA2353, Bracket A3260

Ink~Ranger-Vintage Photo, Tsukineko-Rich Cocoa
Misc.~Tattered Angels-Glimmer Mist Iridescent Gold, Coffee Shop, Glimmer Screen Garden Blossom, Advantus-Tim Holtz Grungeboard Elements Swirls, Ranger-Gold Stickles, Distress Stickles Rock Candy, Ribbon, Buttons, Pearls

For the multi-colored card I followed all the same steps for the stamping but I used different colors of ink for the background, Peeled Paint (green), Worn Lipstick (pink), Broken China (blue). After I had the stamping done I took all three colors of ink and Vintage Photo (brown) and put them on a craft mat, misted with water and then moved my background piece around in the ink to achieve the finished look. After the background piece was dry I distressed the edges and added some silver ink. What do you think of my distressed butterflies? That almost sounds funny--the poor little things. The butterflies actually started out a light blue and I misted them with Frozen Lake and Marshmallow Glimmer Mist and then carefully heat set them until they started to take on a distressed look. If you do this you really have to watch it, once the fibers start to melt it goes pretty fast! I let the butterflies cool and then I added rhinestones and silver stickles around the edge. For the background paper I misted it with Frozen Lake Glimmer Mist, added some silver ink and distressed it in several spots. I also added some velvet ribbon, keys and a flower for embellishments.
