ATC Swap - My Weekend - Yummy Smoked Ribs

Hello blogging friends!  I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!  We have had a nice and relaxing weekend and the weather has been fabulous.  It cooled off a little but I love the cooler temps.

Eric (hubby) worked yesterday but he had today off and he made the best supper EVER!!

He smoked ribs all day and they were SO Yummy!!!  The meat just fell of the bones. :)

Last month I was in a ATC sawp with a very sweet and and amazingly talented lady on YouTube.  Her name is Marlene and she is 4umarlene1 on YouTube.  You can click HERE to check out her YT channel.  During this time I was having some heath issues so I sent Marlene a PM to let her know what was going on and that I was going to be a little late with the swap.  She was so kind and  understanding and told me not to worry  about the swap until I was feeling better.  So once I was feeling better I finished up the swap and sent it off to her.  She said she was going to do a video with the ATC's I sent her and I told her once the video was up I would share the ATC's on my blog.  I haven't made a ATC in a few years and this was my first swap with someone on YT.  :)  I have been a HUGE Fan of Marlene's for some time now so when I saw her video about doing an ATC swap I jumped at the chance.  The swap was for one ATC and we could make anything we wanted--no theme, no rules--just have fun creating.

Here is the ATC that I designed for the swap--Embrace Your Dreams.  I love how this ATC turned out!  The colors are so soft and it has a shabby but elegant look.  The background paper is from the Simply Pastel paper collection from Recollections and I added it to a piece of chipboard.

I made a glaze using seed beads, glass glitter, sequins, and glossy accents and I added that around the entire outer edge of the ATC.  Once the glaze was dry I brushed Perfect Pearls over the ATC.  Then I added a small little bit of lace and frayed the edges.  I added some flat back pearls to the flower centers on the lace.

These are the products I used the create the beaded sparkling glaze.  The seed beads are a very pale pink.  The glass glitter is from Stampendous, sequins are from Martha Stewart, and the perfect pearls is from Ranger.

Here is a close up of the flower cluster.  All of the acrylic/resin flowers and pearls are from Em's Emporium.  The pink crystal is from ButterBeeScraps.  The tiny rose buds are from WOC Flowers.  I also added a few pearl AB sequins.  The beautiful image of the lady is from a free collage sheet I found on Pinterest and I distressed the edges of the paper.

Here is a close up of the wood blocks.  These are from the Tim Holtz ChitChat stickers.  I added 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ to the back of the word blocks and then I applied Glossy Accents to the top.

I made a second ATC just for the fun of it.  I know how much Marlene loves ATC's.  :)

Here is the second ATC--Sprinkle Love.  For the background paper I used Kirby Teesdale from The Paper Studio and I adhered it to a piece of chipboard.  Then I used Mod Podge to apply a piece of light blue lace fabric with some silver sparkles.  I will leave a link below to Marlene's YT Video with the ATC's and you can see what the light blue lace fabric looks like.  Once the Mod Podge was dry I trimmed off the excess lace.  Next I applied White Gesso around the outer edges of the ATC.  Doing this makes the lace on the edges really pop.  Once the Gesso was dry then I added some Diamond Stickles along the outer edge of the ATC.

For the sentiment I used more word blocks from the ChitChat stickers and added Glossy Accents on the top.  I punched out the butterflies using a Martha Stewart punch and added Diamond Stickles to them.  The tiny flowers are from Em's Emporium and the Aqua Crystals are from ButterBeeScraps.

I added an altered bottle cap in the lower left corner.  I applied some Gesso to the bottle cap and then added the sweet little image.  The image is a digital download from ArtCult.  I LOVE the beautiful images that Batya offers in her shop!  I added some Glossy Accents on top of the image and then I added some rhinestone chain.  The small flower filigrees are from B'Sue Boutiques.  I painted them white and then buffed them with steel wool (0000) until some of the metal was revealed.  I added Clear Crystals from ButterBeeScraps to the filigree pieces.

Here are the links to the two videos that Marlene did with the ATC's (below).  I added a few extra goodies that you can see in her video.  I forgot to take pictures of the flowers I made lol.  Also HERE is a link to the blog post showing a necklace that has a bezel--it is just like the one I made for her but I didn't add her's to a necklace so she could use it on a project if she wants to.  And--if you are coming here from Marlene's video and you want to see the card I gave her you can click HERE to see that blog post.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Here is a link to my YT channel if you would like to subscribe.  I will be doing a video once I receive Marlene's package.  I know a lot of you that follow my blog know I do YT videos for JustRite Papercraft but I don't do too many videos on my personal channel.  I am hoping to change that and to start doing some videos soon.  :)

Thanks again!  Until next time...

Crafty Secrets - Girlfriends ATC

Hello! Today, I have a set of six Girlfriends ATC cards to share with you. These ATC cards are quick and easy to make. You can keep them as and ATC card, add to a card front or create a tag.I made these back before the holidays and things got busy so I am just now posting them. All of the images and word block sentiments are from the Girlfriends Creative Scraps from Crafty Secrets. To start I cut out all of the images and sentiments. Some of these sentiments make me giggle! ;-) Next I inked all of the images and sentiments with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. For the background I cut six pieces of ivory cardstock 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 for the base of the ATC. Then I used a couple flourish stamps from the Flourishes stamp set from Crafty Secrets with Tuxedo Black ink and stamped the flourishes around the outer edges. I mounted all of the images to black cardstock and layered them on top of the ivory base. For a little sparkle I added Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist and then I embellished each of the ATC cards with pearls, rhinestones, ribbon.

A late post...

These are a couple of ATC's that I made for a swap. I am in a monthly ATC swap at our LSS and in August our theme was travel. The theme for September was Red but I haven't taken any pictures of them yet. So I'm running a little behind with posting this-lol!For the center image I used some printed paper (sorry I'm not sure about the company!) that I had bought at Archiver's some time ago & I have been hoarding it for just the right project. Do you hoard your supplies? Isn't that awful!! I am trying to use things more, I mean it's certainly not doing anything for me tucked in a corner sitting on a shelf in my craft room! *wink* The images were on a 12 x 12 sheet & I don't know if you can tell from the pictures but each one is embossed.
This is a picture of all the images I used for the ATC's. I used the Fiskars Stamp Paper Edgers to make a faux stamp & sponged Distress Ink by Ranger-Frayed Burlap on the edges. For the background paper I used SU Designer Series Brocade Background. I stamped several different images on the printed paper, added some pearlex & distressed the edges.

Supplies~
Paper~ SU-River Rock, Brocade Background, (?) Embossed paper
Ink~SU-River Rock, Ranger-Distress Ink Frayed Burlap, VersaMark
Stamps~Hampton Arts (Paris), Hero Arts (Stamps), Autumn Leaves (Flourishes), A Stamp in the Hand (script)
Other~SU-Pearlex, Distress Tool

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you are all having a GREAT week!!
Smiles!

Vacation!!

We are leaving this morning for our vacation!! The boys are soooooo excited!! We're going to Jellystone for a week. We went there last year and had a BLAST!! They have indoor and outdoor water parks, huge skate park, paddle boats, fishing, mini golf, play parks, huge game room, kids craft room and all kinds of activities going on. They also have a theme each week and this week is chocolate lovers-gotta love that!! At night they play movies and also sometimes have a band. There is so much to do at Jellystone maybe we will be lucky and not have to hear "I'm board" for a whole week-lol! *wink*

Since we will be gone I won't be posting anything for a few days. Sorry I haven't been able to post much lately, life has just been busy. I have been working on my ATC's for this month--what a challenge!! This month our theme was to make an ATC all about yourself. I have to say I spent some time thinking about this one! I have never done any SB LO's or anything like that where it's all about me so this was really a challenge for sure!! But I think I'm happy with the outcome.
I used a picture that I took of myself and desaturated it (made it B&W) and then used a filter called photocopy which made it into like an outline. Then I colored it in with chalks. The top piece is transparency and I wrote different words on it (with a sharpie marker) about me and then on the back side I added glitter around the edges. I also stamped, chalked, glittered and cut out a fairy (CTMH) and two butterflies (stamp craft) and glued them on the front of the transparency and then put crystal effects over them.

Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) Club

Well I have to say this is a new experience for me. Yes I know you're thinking where have I been? LOL! Believe it or not up until not too long ago I had never made an ATC! *gasp* I know a few people that make them and I have even received some really awesome ATC's from some of my online friends. Not too long ago I was at the LSS and Karen (owner) told me that they were starting up an ATC Club and was wondering if I would like to join. She also said that some of the local artists from the Art Center were going to be joining the club too. So I thought what the heck this would be a great way to get into doing them and with so many talented local people how could I go wrong!! I was right!! I have been having a lot of fun doing the ATC's!! I love to see how many different techniques and embellishments and mediums can be put onto such a tiny little card. What a fun challenge!!

Here is my very 1st ATC!!
I loved getting my little envy filled with so many wonderful ATC's!! This is going to be a great way to get a collection going!! Each month we have a theme and for the month of May is was Serenity. It is so exciting to see all of the different and unique styles of design. When I first seen these I thought --Oh I have to post them to my blog and share them with all of my online friends!! So I sent out emails and asked if it would be okay to post. Here are the ATC's from some of the ladies in the club.
