Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! We spent Easter weekend up in Morgan. It was fun to see Crew on Easter morning. We stayed overnight at the Durrant's and then spent the afternoon with my family. Crew was so funny. The only thing he really cared about was the "nana" (banana). He carried it around all morning and even tried to take a bite out of it with the peel on. The Durrant's have a tradition of the Easter Bunny hiding the baskets. So on Easter morning when I found mine, Broc had got me this super cute bag (which you can see in the pic) and put my basket inside. It was really cute how he had it set up! It was fun to be with family!

Eggs and surprises aside, I am so grateful for the opportunity we have to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior. Broc gave an FHE lesson from the March 2008 Ensign article "He Lives". It was a compilation of the latter day prophet's testimonies. One that really stuck out to me was the testimony of President David O. McKay, "'How can we know the way?' asked Thomas, as he sat with his fellow apostles and their Lord at the table after the supper on the memorable night of betrayal; and Christ's divine answer was: 'I am the way, the truth, and the life...' (John 14:5-6.) And so he is! He is the source of our comfort, the inspiration of our life, the author of our salvation. If we want to know our relationship to God we go to Jesus Christ. If we would know the truth of the immortality of the soul, we have it exemplified in the Savior's resurrection...

'...He is the one Perfect Being who ever walked the earth; the sublimest example of nobility; Godlike in nature; perfect in his love; our Redeemer; our Savior; the immaculate Son of our Eternal Father; the Light, the Life, the Way.'"

I loved that quote! I love how it depicts that Christ is the light and source of our comfort. Today in Sacrament meeting we sang the song, "The Lord is my Light." As I sat pondering the many decisions Broc and I will be making this upcoming week, this song really comforted me. I felt overcome with the Spirit of testimony that our Savior is aware of each of our needs and desires. "The Lord is my light, then why should I fear...The Lord is my light, tho clouds may arise, Faith, stronger than sight, looks up thru the skies, Where Jesus forever in glory doth reign, Then how can I ever in darkness remain?...The Lord is my strength, I know in his might I'll conquer at length, My weakness in mercy he covers with pow'r, And, walking by faith, I am blest ev'ry hour." I am so grateful for that knowledge that Christ is our light and our beacon during hard times. It truly was a testimony to me, as I listed to that song and was reassured and comforted. I know He lives and loves each of us. I am so grateful for that testimony. I hope and pray that each of you may feel that love in your lives.
