Day #99 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Almost 100 days of 365Cards.....can you believe it?! I've missed quite a few lately, but I always come back because the challenges and all the crafters that participate are just 100% 'ausome'! So, today Pam gave us a cool sketch. When I looked at this I thought of a pennant. So, I sorta made one for an "all star Dad". I flipped the sketch and cut some colored stars from paper by My Mind's Eye. I added a strip pf the paper on the end and cut into it to make a frayed edge. I saw someone else do that (maybe it was Kristie?) and I loved it. I also used my Scor-It and scored some lines in the top right corner. OOPS!!! I just realized that I was supposed to use a dragonfly on my card today in honor of the incredible Jeannie!! OK, so I will make another card and include a dragonfly. So, thanks for stopping by today and be sure to check out all the DT loveliness at 365 Cards today!

2Sketches4U - Ultimate Card Showdown!

Well, it's finally here! The 2S4U Ultimate Card Showdown!! This is the 'party' going on over at 2S4U to celebrate their 1st anniversary. I'm so exited to join in the fun and create a card based on Laura's 'ausome' sketch #27 this week. I flipped the sketch on it's side to create my card. There are so many details to this card, so I'm just gonna say.....this one was some work! I hope you all will check out all the amazing cards by Laura and the DT this week and the prize packages for this 1st anniversary are ROCKIN'!!! So, click on my title above and go check it out! Thanks for stopping by today :)

Day #78 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Another sketch today and let me tell ya, this one wasn't easy! Pam really pulls that creativity out of us in so many ways and today's challenge was a REAL challenge! I've used some Basic Grey papers and I think the bottom paper is Paper Studio. The chipboard piece going diagonally is by My Mind's Eye. The marquee paper is Anna Griffin and the stamp is Stampabilites. I added a little ribbon from my stash and I was finished. Whew! I stared at this sketch forever this morning and wasn't sure about it, but.....it's done. Thanks so much for stopping by and for your super nice comments!

"Monkey Business"

Today is Fun with Fruit at 365 Cards. I chose to use this little monkey with his bananas. (The bananas are quite small, but you can click on the pic to enlarge). The monkey, bananas and sentiment are all cut from Animal Kingdom. The vine is cut from Zooballoo. The papers are My Mind's Eye (seems to be my fav lately - next to BG!). Sorry that the pic isn't very bright. While photographing this card, I knocked over one of my lamps and broke it. It's one of the little lighting lamps that came with my portable photo studio. If anyone knows where to buy a replacement bulb, let me know. :(

Trio Tuesday

Today is Trio Tuesday at 365 Cards. Our
Trio
"recipe"
is a bloom,
a brad and a circle.
I just recently purchased some fab Scenic
Route papers, so I decided to use them here.
The sentiment is from My Mind's Eye and the oval journaling tag is Heidi Grace. The brad was in my stash and I made the "bloom". It's made with ribbon and some thread. I guess the circle would be the polka dots OR the brad OR the journaling tag. Now, for the best part of this card.......check out the 'ribbon' at the top. It's not ribbon............it's elastic! Yes, ladies..........like the kind around your panties or those (ugh) girdles that grandma used to wear. I needed some cream colored ribbon and I was out, so hey....I improvised. I had some of this stuff in a bag of ribbon remnants that I bought so I added it on the card, frayed the edges and went with it. Go with watcha got is what I say! (Click on the pic to see it larger and you can see the elastic).

Thanks for stopping by!

Card Patterns, Sketch #11

Card Patterns has a great sketch up for this week. I thought I would make a card to say Thank You to a teacher. I love teachers and without them where would all of us be?? I have several teachers in my family......my sister, my daughter-in-law, my sister-in-law and my daughter is about to get her Bachelor's degree in elementary education (next month!!). So, I added a little apple to this one from my Happily Ever After cartridge. The marquee was cut from The Calligraphy Collection cart along with the vine. The arrow was cut the other day and I can't remember which cart I used. (old age setting in!). The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye and the craft paper is from my stash. So, head on over to Card Patterns and check out the sketch challenge. (click on my title). There are some very talented folks over there! The sketch is shown above and here is my card.............

Setting the Scene

Day 24 at 365 Cards is "Setting the Scene" and we were asked to do a card with a nature scene. Well, this is my take on it. The tree and the squirrel were cut from Happily Ever After and the flowers from Walk in My Garden (cricut carts). I added some stickles to the flowers. The green pp is MME, Wild Asparagus. I've got Day #25 card to do, so I'm keeping this one short. Thanks for stopping by! (Click on the title and go check out Krista (guest designer) and Tammy's (365 Design Team) cards!

CPS#106 Sketch

I haven't participated over at CPS for a while and since I'm home today, I thought I would join in the fun over there. The sketch is #106 and I loved it! I needed to make a BD card for a friend, so I used this cool sketch. The pp is My Mind's Eye. I seem to be using alot of that lately. I cut the swirls with my Cricut cartridge - Wedding Solutions. I added some lace on the edge, some ribbon, the little green chipboard, a button and some twine and there you have it! Thanks for stopping by!

Giving it All You've Got! and 2S4U #21

Today's challenge on 365 Cards is to use 5 patterned papers and 5 embellishments on one card. So, I felt like I needed to do sort of a collage card. I've used 5 papers by different mfg's, but at least 2 are My Mind's Eye. I added some inking, sewing, some little charms, a little clip, a puzzle piece, a cute little butterfly, a bookmark and a tiny flower. That's a few more than 5, but hey.....it's a collage, right? The puzzle piece was "raw" and I added some alcohol inks to it and a stamp. Oh, almost forgot my pretty little lace at the bottom! I LOVE LACE! So, I'm also using this card for this weeks challenge at 2S4U and Laura's sketch #21. There are some FAB cards this week both at 365 AND 2S4U, so be sure to go over and check them out. Thanks for stopping by! See you tomorrow.....

P.S. I've added a couple more pics today so you can see the close up of some of the cute little embellies.

Grayson's birthday

I made this card today for a friend. Her niece's birthday is next week and she LOVES Dora! I used My Mind's Eye pp and my Alphalicious Cricut cart for the number 2. I set it at short stack and short stack shadow and cut it at 4". I used stickers for Dora and her little friend, and made the Grayson tag with the computer. Hope she likes it. TFL!

Happy Birthday, Merrill!!

So, this past Wednesday was my niece, Merrill's, birthday. She turned 1 year old!! Yes, she and Maggie were born just 6 days apart. I know they will be the bestest friends as they grow up. So anyway, tomorrow is Merrill's big birthday party. I'm so excited!! I got her lots of goodies and I can't wait to spend the day with her. This picture was taken a couple of weekends ago at Maggie's birthday party and I just love it! (Click on it to get a closer look).
THOSE EYES!!!! Oh my gosh, they are beautiful!
So, this is the birthday card I made for her. I decided to make it based on the challenge over at Bitten by the Bug. I'm using the letter B from Alphalicous. I cut it at 4 inches (short stack) and then did the shadow also. I cut the dragonfly from Doodlecharms cut at 2 1/2". I cut it out in pink and then in vellum. I decorated the vellum with some stickles and beads and layered it on top of the pink. (The glue is hidden in the center under the beads so you don't see it - shh!). The pp is My Mind's Eye, "Sweetness". (Well, of course I HAD to use this on Merrill's card!). Be sure to check out all the DT creations over at BBTB, as they are just so AUsome!! (Link is on the right side of my blog). So, TFL and Happy Birthday, Merrill. I love you very, very much!!

WOW! I think I may have one more bday card after this one. December has been a busy month for birthday's!! This one is for a friend. I used the Cricut Celebrations cart for the hat. I used the Fiskars threadingwater punch for the trim and the paper is My Minds Eye. TFL!!
