Moving Along Backwards!

Good Morning my crafty friends I must apologise I have been absent again - August is just not my month for fun and games - It's the peak holiday season and work is mental, on top of that I had to dash over to my Mothers, hence I'm typing this at 2.40am!!

It's Thursday already which means new challenge time over at
and this week my fab friend Lisa has given us all a week off by asking for a

Flashback!
Lisa wants us to post an old project that we are proud of .. could be one of your first using a particular technique /a project you won a challenge with / or just a project you really liked.

This was quite difficult for me as I've not been blogging long and it doesn't seem like two minutes since I first posted this lol.  It was in January and it was my first ever LOTV stamp and I was soooooo pleased with this card it also earnt me a couple of new followers which really made my day!! It contains most of my favourite card ingredients and I was just learning about shading in colouring. I've learnt so much in the short time I've been blogging and I have you all to thank for that!

We are sponsored this week by
Stampin With Brenda
The prize will be THREE FREE months of The How to WOW Paper Crafting Techniques Club.  Information can be found here

I hope you will all get time to join us and repost your favourites for us this week. Don't forget to check out the main challenge blog to see if you were a lucky winner last week and to see what my favourite girls have posted on the DT for your inspiration.
Once again I would like to remind you that my candy is still running for those that have not entered yet and I would to thank those that have and for all the lovely birthday comments - I have 5 more days of being 49!!

Thanks for taking the time to visit me

I'm a great 'Great Great Aunt!!

Good morning blogland, surprise surprise it has just stopped raining and I can see the chink of a big yellow thing in the sky! Can't remember what its called.
It's official now I am a 'Great Great Aunt' so I thought I had better make a special card to celebrate this event. Those that know me will know I'm desperate to become a Grandma and now my husbands younger sister has become a Great Grandma!!  Baby Kayden (yes that's how his mother is spelling it!) weighed in at 7lb 12oz a few days ago, I have yet to meet him.
I love White on White cards I think they are perfect for baby or weddings and I hope to make a few for Christmas this year too.
This card includes all my favourite ingredients, WOW, Magnolia image, feathers, Doo Hickey swirl die and my swiss dots embossing folder. I've just realised while I'm typing this I forgot to add any shading under the image so I'm now going to do that but I don't have time to re take the photo!
I added the baby's name a la Pinky (nobody does that better than her!) and hopefully I haven't put too much on, it's very difficult to know when to stop with embellishments!!

Thank you all for taking the time to visit my blog, don't forget to enter my Birthday candy, you have until the end of the month. I'd like to thank all those that have left comments wishing me a happy birthday and welcome my new followers, I will get around to visiting you, August is a manic month at work for us.
I hope you all have a great and dry weekend

Love 'n' Hugs Laurie

Moving Along With A Fantasy

Good Morning lovely people it's Thursday already and time for a new challenge at
Thanks to everyone who joined us last week for Debs 1st hosting on this team, there were some amazing shapes amongst your cards a lot of which I'd like to have a go at when I have time. Pop over to the main challenge blog to see if you were a winner and for all the details of this weeks challenge, set by our very own (and very poorly at the minute) Hazel, who has chosen for her theme...
Fantasy
Now this could come in lots of guises but I chose to use a fairy on my card
Not your average everyday fairy is she? lol
We were very kindly given some fab images to play with from this weeks sponsor
who are offering the winner this fabulous prize
This is the second card I made for this challenge, I was rushing the first one because I didn't have a lot of time and when I'd finished it, I hated it!
So less haste more speed is very true!
The papers are from DCWV and the lovely silver glittery balls are new at WOC.  I've been desperate to get my glamour dust and it arrived just in time to try out on her wings. I hope you will get time to join in the fun this week and don't forget to check out what my lovely teamies have made for your inspiration.

Also don't forget to enter my Birthday Candy if you haven't already, this week I have added some Copic Pens I'd doubled up on and some sticky gems.

Jack & Oliver

Good morning my lovely blogging friends, I hope you all enjoyed the lovely weather we had, it seems like we have skipped a season and gone straight into winter here! I'm not sure what happened, it was hot and sunny most of last week and I blinked and now its so windy, wet and cold I can't believe it! At least I can catch up on my sleep!

It's time for another challenge for me at
Before I go into this weeks challenge I'd like to thank everyone who entered last time, you certainly are a talented bunch. Check the main blog to see if you were a winner.
This week my blogging buddy Lisa is hosting, now those of you who know Lisa will know she is an avid camper or Glamper, as last week she had electricity and wifi!
Her theme this week is
The Great Outdoors
Head over to the main challenge blog to check all the details of the new challenge and to see what our lovely girls have created for your inspiration.

For my card I've used my favourite LCI stamp 'Frog Chasing Jack' I just love this little man and the look on the frogs face!! The papers are from Basic Greys 6x6 pad 'Oliver' which I think are a great match to the image. I've kept it really simple as it's for a boy, no bows or gems.

I hope you will be able to join us for this super challenge, Lisa has donated this fabulous prize to the lucky winner
A great prize, perfect for all those 'where do I start'  and so hard to make mens cards.

Don't Be Square at Moving Along With The Times

Oh boy am I late!!! I'm so sorry to my lovely teamies, with all the glorious hot weather we have had it's been really busy at the seaside and work has gone a bit mental, I've had no time to craft or blog so I'm very sorry not to have visited you all again this week!! It's raining as I type so I've managed to sneak home and make this little tag to share with you for this weeks challenge at

It's my lovely friend and teamie,  Debs first time hosting since she joined us and she has set a theme of
'Don't Be Square'
Now I know many of you will love this idea but it sends me into panic lol, I only know how to make square cards, I see all these gorgeous round and shaped cards and I'd love to be able to make them, and as soon as I get time I will adventure into them! I decided that I would make a gift tag.
I apologise for the picture its blurred but as I'm already 7 hours late posting this I didn't have time to retake it! The tag, the swirl and the leaf are all Magnolia Doo Hickey Dies and all have been distressed with TH, a mix of Walnut Stain and Spun Sugar. The ribbon, flower and rub on were all from my stash. The dress is an image I was given to play with by this weeks sponsor

who are offering this fabulous prize to the lucky winner
Please head over to the main challenge blog for all the details and to see what my fabulous friends have made for your inspiration, unlike me they were on time!!

BIG Birthday Candy!!

Happy August everyone, I cannot believe how quickly this year is going, blogging should come with a warning that it makes your life go quicker!!

I have a big birthday coming up later this month, BIG is the right word, as I'm going to be 50!! I know, I know, I don't look it, I can hear you all shout but that's because my profile photograph was taken 10 years ago lol! If I can find a picture I like taken this year, (maybe at my party) I will upgrade (or down grade) the profile!

As blogging has taken over my life and I've made some beautiful new friends I'd like to put up some followers candy as a thank you. And as I've been too busy to sort it all out properly I'm going to add to my candy so that when it's finally delivered to the randomly drawn lucky winner, there will be at least 50 items!
Photography is not my strong point! Hidden amongst this lot are: 4 Magnolia Stamps, 1 Stamping Bella Stamp, 2 6x6 paper pads (1 Prima Jack & Jill and 1 K & Co Hopscotch Boy), 2 Cuttlebug folders ( 1 is just embossing and 1 is cutting and embossing), 1 Tim Holtz Distress re-inker in Brushed Corduroy, 25 WOC Ivory roses, 1 pack of 10 Piggy Tales Springs, 30 asstd Pins, 1 pack of Prima Yellow flowers, a selection of ribbons, 1 pack of 6 Creative Imaginations Crown Brads, Heart shaped paper doily's, Doodlebug Simply Sweet alphabet stickers in white.

The usual rules apply
1. Become a follower if not already.
2. Post a picture of my candy in your sidebar.
3. Leave your name with the Linky thingy!!
Please leave a comment incase the linky goes awol!

To be eligible for the draw I will be checking all the above!

The Candy will run until the end of August and I will announce the winner soon after. That gives me about a week after my birthday to get over my hangover!
