Two-2 page layouts - 3 Challenges!

I was on a roll today- since I haven't been scrapping for 2 weeks- so I had alot of challenges in front of me to try to do and I did 2- two page layouts and they cover 3 challenges for this week and so I am posting them all here together since they are of our Trip a few years back to Las Vegas (2005) when we took a day trip into Red Rock Canyon.
This first 2-page layout is for Creative Scrappers #167 on left side.....and Sketchy Thursdays on the right side. I used all the same papers on both pages from my old stash- so not sure who they are by but they were from a super stack. I used some older alphabet titles from Artsy Collage and cut them out and put them on black cardstock with pop dots. I used my Cricut cartridge Mickey and Friends for the film strips used as mats for the photos and some rust colored cross stitch thread to make all my x'x's on each page. I journaled in a brown Zig writer and then used the little black squares from the film strip to write with a white gel pen for my sub titles- Las Vegas-Nevada ( which are hard to see in this photo) but there are so cute.
Above is a close-up of the left side for Creative Scrappers #167 sketch challenge.
and here is the right side for Sketchy Thursdays sketch Challenge

Then onto my next two-page layout which only one side( the right side) is for the challenge at Creative Scrappers #168. Again I used all the same papers and embellishments for all 4 pages. I also added some stamps by Stampendous, Autumn Leaves and Scrappy Cat, along with a journal tag stamp.
This layout is titled Mule Time..because as we were driving around in Red Rock Canyon several mules were taking up the road looking for handouts and they weren't taking no for an answer. Which you can see in the layout below- they are right next to the car.

The layout below is the sketch from Creative Scrappers #168 this week- which is a few photos of us in the Red Rock Canyon on a very hot hot day- temps were in the high 100's and the rocks were so hot you couldn't even pick them up and our shoes were melting to the pavement- so you didn't stay in one place to long... that's what I remember the most of this trip.

PAW-SOME....always together

I just think this page is so adorable...especially the photo's. One day a few months ago I was looking to see where my girls (dogs) were and I found then laying in the foyer- just like this together- facing each other with there paws touching- AWWW ...I had to quietly go get my camera- so I wouldn't disturb them, to catch this photo moment and I got it. They are always together, whether they are sleeping, eating or playing- I just gotta love my two girls (Jenna and Izzy) american eskies.
This sketch is from Practical Scrappers July Challenge and I think I nailed this one...  I used a green brown cardstock and a die cut  from Imaginations and cut all the large flowers out of some paper I had in my stash and some blue and brown cardstock for the Cricut cuts.
I used Mickey & Friends for the paw-some paws and chalked them for dimension and used Lyrical Letters for the words along with my Gypsy( this is such a great tool to have) A blue polka-dot ribbon, chalks Stickles, and pop dots. Other tools used was a glass cutting board, and an exacto knife
And a wrote on a few blue strips of cardstock for sub titles. I really like how this turned out and love the colors- since the photos were either black and white or brown and white.

Sketchy Thursdays sketch challenge

Here is my take on the layout this week over at Sketchy Thursdays- there is no title on my page it explains itself in the photo's. I used My Mind's Eye Complete Boy stack papers and white cardstock, Cricut cuts with Plantin School and Mickey & Friends, journal spot(yet to be down) brackets in chipboard, diamond Stickles and pop dots.

I'm the Guest Designer over at Frosted Designs today

Again, I'm thrilled to have been choosen to be the Guest Designer  today at Frosted Designs- Sketch along Tuesdays- and to work with another great sketch designed by Fern and here is what I came up with this week. I'm currently working on my 2004 photos and this is the year I took my boys to Walt Disney World, finally- they were 14 & 15 years old- we all had a great time the whole week we were there.

Materials I used were: My Mind's Eye, Jenni Bowlin Studio, and Sassafras papers- misc cardstock. Cricut cuts from Mickey & Friends, Autumn Leaves (alpha stamps) for part of the title, white acrylic paint splattered, vellum saying, 3 yellow metal star tags, Karen Foster's scrappers floss, black 3-D glaze marker, black Staz-On ink, pop dots, vellum tape, Stickles in Diamond.
I did some doodling around the border in black dots, added Stickles to the silver stars and the swirls behind the Friends title and also circled the number 3 on the bingo card.  1 (pluto) plus 2 (new Friends) = 3 Well, I hope you like my take on this weeks sketch  and be sure to check in with Frosted Designs for all their many challenges they have with wonderful sponsor prizes for the winners.

Visiting Mickey Mouse

Here is a layout done for PageMaps for the February Sketch titled Visiting Mickey, which is photos taken of my two sons taken back in 2004. I had taken my daughter's years ago when they were younger and always promised my boys I would take them someday- well better late than never they were 14 and 15- which they had a great time and got along terrific.

Sandylion- red pola dot paper, black striped by Recollections and misc cardstock in black, red, white and yellow. Used all my cuts from Cricut cartridge Mickey and Friends, red and yellow Stickles for the stars and part of title "Mikey", stamped in black ink  the background with a block stamp by Penny Black, made a pleated border on white cardstock and inked for the other part of the title "visiting with " made a mickey face journal spot and used 3-D glaze marker for all writing on page. Also colored the black trim on outer edge with a marker.

They Light up our Life.

Oh no !! !I cut up the enlarged Photo. That was the challenge this week at Frosted Designs and it was different and I was a little bit leary about the first cut, but it was fine after that. I wanted my layout to look like a window so I framed the 8 piece photo with dog bones that I cut from the Mickey and Friends cartridge and added a strip of Adorn It paper- I love my dog- and from the same cartridge cut out paw prints and added them to the page. I then wrote my title on the bones in white gel pen and doodled on the bones to highlight them. All bones are attached with pop dots for a 3-D look. The paw print paper is Reminisce. I used a grey blue cardstock behind the cut up photo. I just love how it turned out, and I had so much fun too. I will be cutting up some more photos in the future.

Izzy & Jenna  on 4th of July this year in Michigan.

Goofy

This is a few of those silly/ goofy photos that you're not quite sure what to do with but want to keep them. So here is my entry towards Practical Scrappers this week for animation, character, cartoon on your layout. I used Goofy from the Mickey and Friends Cricut cartridge to cut it out and the name Goofy as my title and found some misc scrap papers to use. I hand stitched a circle in black thread and journaled on the right side of pictures in black fine marker, and also inked the edges in black.

LID Challenge for the week of 4/17-4/23

Here is my take to the LID challenge for week of 4/17-4/23 sketch #1. I used brown cardstock and some patterned paper in golds and green, brown with the left side in hot pink. Used Mickey and Friends for all cuts the Title and the swirls and Goofy himself. I stitched a circle border in black thread and added journaling in the middle.

Paper Poppy Kit= April Challenge

Over at Paper Poppy- another place I found this week they are having a challenge to include the following in a project: Colors -black & white, music symbol, andsong lyrics in the title. This adorable layout of my 2 dogs Jenna & Izzy is what I came up with this week.I used several cartridges on this layout also. Mickey and Friends for the bone borders cut twice and layered and I wrote in white marker some doggy sayings on them and pop dot them. Tags, boxes and more I used for the frames of the dogs to kinda look like windows-put some clear plastic on them and used white marker to make it look like a window, which may be hard to see in this picture. Lyrical Letters to do all the wording and musical notes all done on my Gypsy. I used a musical note paper and some other patterned black and white with a bit of poppy colored in it and black, brown and poppy colored cardstock. I again had fun doing this page..I just love my dogs I think they are the cutest .
