Take me out to the Ballgame

Here is a layout that I did for Sketchy Thursdays this week and I really enjoyed doing this one- because it has the boyish look to it -no flowers or butterflies, and I really enjoyed the simplicity of the sketch. I used misc. stash papers with no company names on them- so they must be older, misc. older sport stickers tags which I matted on cardstock and tied red cord onto them, Used Cricut cartridges Sports Mania and Jasmine for the title and cutouts, black marker for journaling and white cardstock for background.
This is my youngest son when he was in 8th grade and the whole class was taken to the Brewers game up in Milwaukeee-( we live in Illinois on the border of Wisc. and my son is a White Sox fan) way to much fun was had by all and here are a few goofy pics my son gave me to scrap. I also did this for Fabulous Friday challenge over at Frosted Designs this week to use tickets, stamps and envelopes on a project- be sure to go check that out by clicking on name of blog .

I did this layout at a Heart & Soul retreat this past weekend and I just love it and also won 1st place for a contest called Parade of Pages. It just so happens it will also works for the SOUS sketch-which I didn't plan that way- but it works-Great! I think I will put this page in a frame and put it on display in my home instead of in a scrapbook-in memory of my Grandma- since I don't have too many photo's of her-It will be nice to have out during the holidays.

The Bakk Boys

I just had so much fun doing this layout-because it was of my husband and his two sons, which I don't have that many pictures of, so this was different. This is my take for Creative Scrappers #115 challenge this week. I used Reminisce "super star" paper, Sassafras-doubled sided pattern paper, and lt. blue, dk brown cardstock. Circle punch white gel pen, pop dots and Cricut cartridge Jasmine for The Bakk Boys and Graphically Speaking for the 2- b's, three and 2001.

All American BOY

I'm  packed and all ready to go on my 4th of July weekend trip to Upper Michigan and I have a few hours to spare before we leave so I hurried downstairs to do one more layout for some challenges this week. And it just so happens the challenges over at Pink Elephant is a sketch and color theme of red, white and blue, and over at FCCB #16 it is the Theme -4th of July and to have a star on your project, and Frosted Design's challenge is Stars & Stripes with red white and blue...Wow 3 challenges with 1 layout.. So this photo of my son taken in 2001 in upper Michigan at the Ishpeming parade was perfect for them all. I used white cardstock inked with brown all over and the edges, red and blue cardstock for all the other papers used. I cut the large red star from Accent Essentials cartridge, small blue and red stars from Doodlecharms ,blue star border from Doodlecharms- welded, and the title in blue "All American Boy" from Jasmine cartridge also welded and used  my Gypsy to lay this all out. I used several buttons tied with silver thread. Added a wide red, white and blue silver ribbon to center of page with 4 silver buttons attached. I made my own 2 journal tags from stars and cut it to look like fringe, used white gel pen,  added Stickles glitter to stars and title. I did this is a bit of a rush, but really liked how it turned out. So now I'm ready to go celebrate with family and friends the 4th of July. Hope you too have a safe and Happy 4th.

Let's go tubing!

This is a bright a colorful page I did for 2 challenges this week. One over at  FCCB #15  " Summer time at the Beach" and Frosted Designs "color challenge" using orange, yellow, turquoise and green. Both blogs have wonderful challenges for your layouts or projects every week and I try to do them both and this week it worked out well with doing one layout.
I used a precut patterned circle that I cut in quarters and used 2 sections of it and some other 2 sided paper by Memory Keepers. plain colored cardstock for the title that I cut from Cricut cartridges Jasmine for the blue and green lettering and Life's a Beach to cut the waves, life saver, fish, beach ball and everything is touched up with stickles using many different colors. I journaled on the corner cut outs in black gel pen. This is my DD in Michigan during the 4th of July in 2001 tubing at my uncle's camp.

My Little Sketch Blook Challenge

Here is my take on My Little Sketch Blook sketch...I used a purple word background paper and cut circles from K&Company black and white patterned paper and inked edges in Teal. I then used my Gypsy to weld the letters for the title using the JAS cart and then used black stickles on the black part of the letters. I  used Wild Card cartridge for the roses and put red stickles on them. I attached some purple ribbon to the small punched out circles. This is our Wedding in Sept. 2000. My husband and I, my mom and my 4 children, attending our backyard ceremony.

Creative Scrappers sketch #102

This is my entry for the Creative Scrappers sketch challenge #102. I used purple cardstock and layered the many different shades of purple patterned  papers behind the picture, which I matted in teal cardstock. I used my Gypsy and JAS for Happy New Year  & 2001, which is the negative and put teal rice paper behind the title. SYI for the champagne glasses and DC for the 2 dimensional stars. I traced the letters and the border with a silver metallic gel pen and used ultra fine glitter on the stars and the white part of the champagne glasses. I then hand stitched with a silver metallic thread all around the edge of the layout. Attached 2 star brads with the metallic thread in between the tags. This is a picture of me,  mom , son #2, husband on New Year's Eve 2000-2001.

FCCB #5 Challenge water theme

This week at FCCB the challenge is to do a project using the theme "water" and since I do all layouts this is what I was working on this week. I used Wild card for the umbrella, and the square cut out , Jasmine for the lettering and Life's a Beach for the diver, and Life preserver. I just now noticed it is hard to see the title "Madison" and the sub title" A rainy day in". I also used a lazer cut- looks like waves on the bottom of the page and added glitter to it. I journaled around all the pictures.

Good Times - The 2 of Us

I am entering this layout in the Paper Poppy Kit Co challenge for the Month of April. I had fun doing this page, love contemporary looking layouts. I used Paperboy papers, blue cardstock, layered the circles and used a hole punch on the white square paper as a border and the circle border trim on the lower half was also punched out in 2 sizes and used silver brads in every other one. The 3 larger circles on the left were attached with colored brads.I used the Fiskars circle cutter for all these larger circle cuts. The titles I used my cricut cartridge Jasmine and my Gypsy to weld The Good Times together, using a dk. blue cardstock. This is me and DH years ago out at the local bar and grill just being silly and having fun.

L.I.D. Challenge Sketch 2 week of4/2- 4/9

Here is my take on sketch 2 I used JB for the car truck and wagon cuts, DC for the bus, and JAS for the title and George to cut the circles. I attached 3 ribbons with polka dots. Added a journal tag to this sketch cause I needed to do some journaling and like the area here. In place of the buttons I used JB and cut out the 2 circles with a wagon and a truck on them. I used white cardstock for the title and sprayed a red color wash by Tim Holtz, then outlined the circles in blue marker to stand out more. This page is for my son Brian in the red and blue shirt, that is him in the pic on the bottom right corner. I made 2 more pages for my other 2 kids in the picture.
This layout is for Daughter Cheryl and her picture is in the lower right corner using all same carts but arranged them on this layout a little different.

And this layout is for son Eric in the green and did smaller 1/2 circles and sprayed the palaymates in red color wash and then added red glitter to it.

L.I.D. Challenge 4/2- 4/9

Here is my sketch 1 layout Took awhile to find so many pictures. I used Jas for title Playmates and JB for the car border. Added a tag for the article that I saved from the Woman's Day magazine back in Jan 1992 explaining the play mat I made with a vinyl tablecloth that I painted a village and roads on for the kids to play with all there car and trucks and little animal figurines. They had a blast with this for years.
