I suggest a pro-gun organization submit these questions as a packet to the GSS (along w/ the required bribe) so we can compare the results and then watch as the PuSH'ers climb all over each other trying to discredit it as "biased".

A significant portion of the NORC firearms report is based off of leading questions authored by the Joyce Foundation. I propose these alternate questions for the NGPS Survey.
New NGPS Survey questions:
1. Do you think that mandatory gun-safety training should or should not be required for
anyone to buy a gun if that training is made readily accessible? If made difficult to obtain?
2. Would you favor or oppose a law which would a person to obtain police/government permission before being allowed to purchase a firearm?
3. Many localities are attempting to bankrupt and close firearm dealers through civil lawsuits. How strongly would you favor or oppose a law mandating all firearm sales to go through firearm dealers only? Favor or Oppose a law allowing non-licensed individual access to the background check system?

Reasoned Discourse in VA
On MLK day, the MMM, Virginia Center for Public Disarmament (safety), and protesteasyguns.com held a "lie" in. Hundreds of pro-rights individuals showed up to counter their efforts. Over on Youtube, they posted a heavily edited video attacking not only the 2A but also the 1st Amendment rights of those opposing them. To keep people from noting the numerous fallacies contained in it, such as that closing the "Gun Show Loophole" would have stopped Cho from obtaining firearms, they've disabled comments. This of course follows their tradition of trying to silence the opposition when the facts don't fit their agenda. Other fine examples are the Brady Blog, Josh Sugarmann, Robyn Ringler, Alex Riley, JadeGold, Nancy Robinson (wheredidthegunsfrom) and Bryan Miller. All of whom have either shut down their comments, deleted and even edited posts, to stop the truth.

This is the law
The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental. As John Steinbeck once said :

To which I said, "of course it is loaded." She then asked, "Are you that afraid of some one evil coming into your house?" My reply was,"No not at all. I am not afraid of the house catching afire either, but I have fire extinguishers around, and THEY ARE ALL LOADED."

I wonder if Obama swims?
Its official Teddy (Hic) Kennedy endorses Obama, I am so excited I could spit. I sometime wonder what is happening in a world where a drunken murder is held in high esteem. Or for that matter a creation of the media with no track record is even considered to obtain the highest office in the land. But I look at the eight years of Slick Willy I guess I have my answer. I actually read a liberal written piece actually questioning the accomplishments of slick Willy. Would appear the left is actually “eating themselves” could we be that lucky?

More NORC fisking...
To further strengthen the argument that the NORC report is biased in it's conclusions on firearms, I did even more research into the data sets and variables used. Just to make sure. Jadetroll, in his usual SOP, claimed I didn't even read the report (even though I quoted and sourced it) and that they "controlled" for the differences in population for their report. When asked for these variables they used, he did his usual avoidances. Why would he do that you ask? Because of pages listing this on the GSS:

Double checking the data sets here and here, the report percentages are based off of straight response numbers. No controlling for population or variables. So their claim that "
"As Figure 2 shows gun ownership has been declining over the last 35 years" is disingenuous at best and shows that there is reason to suspect this packet as politically biased as they base their conclusions off of other biased surveys.
