{ Altered Basics Blog Hop! }

Welcome to the Altered Basics Blog Hop! The Clearsnap Design Team is inking and altering our Basic Necessities, a variety of packaging materials and containers released at the CHA-W 2012 show in Anaheim, CA earlier this year.

These "Basics" allow you to create custom inkpads, mix your own color combinations of Smooch Spritz and glitter, as well as provide a blank canvas for cute altered gifts, like the adorable tins our My Frist ColorBox Stamps are packaged in.

You might recognize packaging from some of your favorite Clearsnap products like the salt shaker style jars from the Donna Salazar Designs Fairy Dust Glitter, an uninked ColorBox inkpad, and the Clear Boxes our Smooch Spritz Assortment Packs are packaged in. We think these Basic Necessities will allow your creativity to soar!

I altered the salt shaker style jar and the tin.

Daniela Dobson Clearsnap Design Adhesives (5)

For the salt shaker jar, I started by applying Fly Away Design Adhesives to the jar. I added Ocean Spray, Cotton Candy and Peridot glitter.

The Design Adhesives adhere to the glass jar without any problems and once the glitter is applied it does not rub off.
I filled the jar with vintage buttons and I am using it to display some of my pins.

My second project is an altered tin. This tin measures 3 1/4” x 3 1/4”. The tin is used for our new My Frist ColorBox Stamps.

I covered the front with a piece of paper that was stamped with Paint Splatter 2 and Watermark ink. I heat embossed it with Honey Pearl embossing powder and sprayed with Sea Kiss Smooch Spritz.
I adhered the cardstock to the tin using SuperTape 1/4” by Therm O Web. I made a little tissue paper flower that I sprayed with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz.
The outside edge is covered with SuperTape 1/4” by Therm O Web and ribbon.

For the inside, I created a color swatch with all my Smooch Spritz. I cut the cardstock to fit inside (3 1/8” x 3 1/8”), rounded the corners and punched a hole for the ring.
I lined up all my Smooch Spritz and started spraying each piece of cardstock.
I wrote the name of each color on the sheet.

The ring with all the swatch colors fits inside and there is room for more.

{ Hello New Life and Glitter Dust }

It was my turn to post on Therm O Web blog today and I created a card using our NEW Glitter Dust by Therm O Web. I have step by step instructions on how I created this card on the Therm O Web blog.

I used my Silhouette Cameo and DigiKit – Card Shapes by Kristina Werner. Love it!!!! This was so easy to cut! The circles are from another DigiKit by Erica Hernandez.

I used March Studio AE – Beauty of Spring stamp set for the card. These were some left over papers and bits I had from a different project and I just love the colors.

The accordion fold flower is so easy. This is only my second one…the first one you can see here. I use my little Scor-Buddy to make the folds.

Do you see the sparkle on the card? I used our new Glitter Dust by Therm O Web.This is a brand new item and will be available at the end of March 2012. It is an aerosol spray that is NOT water based. It doesn’t make your project wet, or make the ink bleed or change color of your papers.  It just sprays glitter dust over the top. It comes in FOUR brilliant colors:  GOLD, SILVER, PINK, and IRIDESCENT! I used Iridescent on my project.

Have a happy Monday!!!!

We are going outside to enjoy this beautiful day.

{ Technique Tuesday March Studio AE }

Hello March!!! Nice to see you!

The March Studio AE stamp set is called Beauty of Spring by Ali Edwards.

Here is my card.

Hello spring 46799

This stamp set was perfect for today. Beautiful spring weather and 82 degrees.

I stamped the large sentiment on this die cut Lace Circle by Laina Lamb cut with Silhouette Cameo. I used 3d Foam Squares by Therm O Web for the die cut circle to give it dimension.

I added some lace and flowers to the bottom.

Here is the stamp set.
