Today I am sharing a Teacher gift using 3-d Samantha Walker handle tuck box  and Traditions paper collection!  I created a Mouse pad using Samantha Walker fabric Serenata collection.

Teacher gift set by Daniela Dobson
The finished mouse pad is 7 3/4” square and it does fit in the box. The box is perfect if you wanted to include something else, in addition, to the mouse pad.

Cut two 8 1/2 “ squares from two different pieces of fabric and one 8 1/2’ square from felt. Make a little sandwich by stacking together a piece of felt, one fabric square right side up and another on top of that, right side down. Stitch around the edge with a 3/4” seam allowance, leaving about 1 – 2” opening at one end for turning. Top stitch around the edge using a decorative stitch.

Step 1 Daniela Dobson
The finished square is 7 3/4”. I am keeping this one and making more. Really a simple project.

For the tag I stamped a border and a sentiment from For All You Do stamp set. I cut it out and added it to a cut tag from Traditions paper collection with 3D Foam Adhesive. I added a little flower at the bottom that I sprayed with Heidi Swapp Color Shine.

For the box, I just cut it out using my Silhouette Cameo and put it together. The only adhesive you need is for the bottom of the box. I stamped a little sentiment from the same stamp set on a cut tag and added it to the box with twine.

{ Anything But A Card Challenge #4 }

I fell in love with these little pumpkins and thought I would give them a try. I don’t have that many fall decorations and I thought these would be perfect. Amy provided a pdf download for the templates. I was too lazy to print, so I just made my own template out of cardboard. I traced that on the back of my fabric and went to work. Like she says, these are really easy and I love how they turned out.

I bought the fabric at Hobby Lobby. I added cinnamon sticks, with a ribbon bow, for the stems and some leaves from a silk fall garland I had.

I hope you can join us in this challenge. It’s pretty easy since you can make anything (but a card).

{ 1 Million Pillowcases Challenge }

American Patchwork & Quilting is challenging you to help them reach their goal of donating one million pillowcases to local charities.  Many charities can benefit from the donation of a pillowcase and the challenge gives you the opportunity to donate and make a difference in your community.

Therm O Web is a proud sponsor of One Million Pillowcases Challenge through Better Homes & Gardens. Please visit our Therm O Web blog for more details.

Some of our DT members participated in the challenge, including me. We used PATTERN 25 Bubbles Appliqué Band for our pillowcases.

We are donating our pillowcase to Dover Children’s Home.

Please visit American Patchwork & Quilting One Million Pillowcases Challenge to see how you can help.

Here is mine.

I used HeatnBond Lite by Therm O Web to iron on the back of my fabric for the circles.

Step 1 Daniela Dobson

I used my Sizzix machine and dies to cut various sizes. I used my iron again to adhere them to the fabric.

Step 2 Daniela Dobson

I used my sewing machine to add a decorative stitch around each circle.

Step 3 Daniela Dobson

Here is a closer look.

My finished pillowcase.

If you like to sew I hope you can help with this challenge. Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great Thursday!

{ CPS #182, car caddy and trip photos }

I finally made a card! I used CPS  #182. I think a month went by without making anything crafty! I sat down and used whatever was left over on my messy desk, as always. October Afternoon paper, Tattered Angels tag that I sprayed with Glimmer Mist, Prima flower and Impression Obsession stamp Thanks Sentiments (CL41). It felt great.

I made this car caddy for Alex the day before we left for our trip. It was something I saved long time ago. Jill at Homemade by Jill has the tutorial I used. We took it on the plane for him to play with and it was a hit!

I cut up an old pair of jeans and made everything here, even the strap with the velcro closure.

I used fusible web for the car appliqué and the felt wheels. How about that decorative stitch? Used it for the first time.

Trip photos.

{ Decorative pillow - New Prima }

I can finally share one of my little projects with new Prima products.  Donna Downey Screen-printed Canvas and iron-on (butterfly), flowers, butterflies and lace. The canvas is awesome!!! You can paint it, stamp it, spray glimmer mist on it or sew it like I did here.

The orange butterfly is an iron-on, my first time using one and it was so easy. The iron-ons are soft and fuzzy and so easy to apply. I added a flower and some butterflies.

I added lace to the front and made a little handle for hanging.

Make sure you check out the blog for other sneaks and beautiful projects from out design team.

( Elle's Studio June blog challenge }

This month's challenge is Thank you gifts for teachers. I made a Thank you card with earrings and a decorative pillow sachet.

***We want to see your teacher gifts using Elle's Studio products! Upload it to the web and post your link on the blog, in the comment section OR email us a photo of your project. And, make sure you get them in by the 25th of June. Everyone that does will be entered into a drawing for a $30 gift certificate to the shop! The winner will be announced here on the 25th and we'll be posting some of the entries we receive.

For the card background I used our A Sweet Summer Mini Papers and Triple Scalloped Large Journaling Circle Tag for the sentiment and the flower. The flower is made from sewing pattern tissue paper.

I used a Triple Scalloped Large Journaling Circle Tag to display the earrings that I made. I stamped A Sweet Summer Stamp on the edge, tied ribbon and punched a hole for the earrings.I attached the tag to the bag with a decorative clip.

  I made the little pillow with some fun fabric and I stamped A Sweet Summer Stamp on the outside. I added little buttons to the centers and a ribbon. The little pillow is packaged in the brown sack.

I hope you have time to play this month.

{ Happy New Year and a Sneak peek ! }

Happy 2009! I am excited and looking forward to the new year, but I was a little sad, too. 2008 was a good year for me, and I was sad to see it go. Now that Christmas is over, I have been working with bright, happy colors that I love. This first peek is for Embellish-Online. The gallery reveal in on January 5 and the theme is New Beginnings! The second card is for CupCards {to go}. This kit goes live on January 5. Check out the blog for more photos.Look what I found at Target!!!! Shelly posted a photo on her blog of these adorable plates. When I went to check it out they were just starting to put the Christmas stuff away and haven't even started unpacking the new stuff. I went this Monday, to a different store and they had everything. I am in love with these colors and the little owls. The cup is my favorite. There is a little owl sitting on the handle. Here is my little owl that I made. There is a pattern in Sew Simple magazine that I picked up. I added a string to mine and I am using it as an ornament on my tree. The one in a magazine is made out of fleece and is much bigger. I want to make more, but the hardest part is cutting all the little pieces. Sewing was easy, even the blanket stitch...I was able to find video instructions on how to do it since this was my first time. I really like owls. What do you think? I was able to purchase the kit for Project 365 this morning. I can't wait to see it and get started. I am still trying to decide how to share my photos on my blog. I don't know if I can post daily photos, but maybe I can set up a gallery and post my photos there. I started a blog roll on the sidebar for everyone that is doing the project. Let me know if you would like to be added to the list. That is it for the first day of the year. I spent some time changing my blog, I hope you like the new look. Have a great night.
