Is Gabesan, Obama? NO WAY

Enough said, Ganesan is and never be Obama. If he wants to be Obama, he should just quit Barisan Nasional and believe that all men are created equal under the law. With Barisan Nasional-UMNO supremacy ideology, is an affront to the good name of Obama.

Ganesan, please, you are no where near the United States President.

Ganesan runs, taps, wants to be Obama too

By Shannon Teoh

SUNGAI PETANI, April 3 - He runs, tap rubber and wants to be the Malaysian‘Obama’.

Datuk S. Ganesan is doing all this and others to get votes and win the Bukit Selambau state seat for Barisan Nasional on April 7.

The former Lunas assemblyman is also projecting an ‘everyman’ image to overcome the perception that he is difficult to engage, if not downright rude at times.

Barisan Nasional is also concerned after Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Salleh was labelled a snob in the Kuala Terengganu by-election on Jan 17, which it lost.

Senior MIC officials in Kedah also told The Malaysian Insider that Ganesan has not been known to be popular with the locals prior to the campaign.

“He is aloof and some would say conceited because he is not shy to talk up his UK education,” said one leader.

But Ganesan has made a huge effort to address this perception across the first half of the campaign period so far by participating in activities common to the Bukit Selambau native.

Ganesan kicked off his campaign by going for a 6km jog around his neighbourhood and passing leaflets to passersby. “To be more energetic and enhance performance,” was his message, he told reporters after his 7am run.

Ganesan related to The Malaysian Insider that he is a member of a local Hash House Harriers chapter, a social club for recreational runners.

Not only that, he is an avid sportsman, naming badminton and football - lifting his trouser leg to show his injuries on his shin as proof — as his sports of choice.

“When you engage in the same activities as the rakyat, then you will know what is required and how to accommodate their needs. For example, others may not understand why you need such a nice field just to play football but to the players, it is a big difference,” he said just after cleaning out a drain in Kg Sebelas, Sungai Lalang.

Ganesan has also showed off his skills at tapping rubber. His own parents were rubber tappers and this move was designed to give locals some food for thought in terms of his grasp of local issues.

His rather creative campaign also includes a some interesting, if not completely credible soundbites.

He has vowed to cover at least 10km a day on foot. That has led to his claim that as of yesterday, he reached over 55 per cent of voters. He also wants to be the “Obama of Malaysia,” becoming the latest politician to ride on newly elected US president Barack Obama’s global appeal.

Whether or not these unorthodox strategies are his ideas or those of his handlers, he is certainly running an eye-catching campaign.

It positions himself as a man willing to pursue local issues. This will be crucial in grabbing the rural vote as the consensus is that the urban voters are lodged firmly with Pakatan Rakyat.

Good Choice

Amen.

Ex-Perak MB Nizar to contest in Bukit Gantang (the Star)

TAIPING: Former Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin is the PAS candidate for the Bukit Gantang parliamentary by-election.

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang made the announcement during a ceramah at Padang Taman Kota near here last night.

The crowd of 2,000 people went wild when Nizar, one of five possible candidates tipped to run for the post, was finally confirmed as Pakatan Rakyat’s choice.

Nizar’s selection as a candidate is said to be against the wishes of PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.

Asked why he was selected, Nizar said there must have been reasons, adding that a press conference would be called later.

To a question on whether this was because his claim as the legitimate Mentri Besar would be more effective in garnering votes, he replied: “It may be so.”

Nizar, 52, is Pasir Panjang assemblyman and Perak PAS deputy commissioner.

In a brief speech following the announcement, Nizar thanked those present for their trust in him and promised to continue the excellent work of the late MP Roslan Shaharom.

Roslan had succumbed to a heart attack last month.

Nizar urged the people to turn the by-election into a chance for Pakatan to bring good to the constituency.

Takbir....

I assumed it must be 'Amen' for the PAS supporters. Heard the word Tadbir many times during PAS ceramah especially when the crowd is in agreement with the speaker. I hope I am corrected by anybody reading this blog. But nevertheless I am happy with the PAS win in KT. I am happy that PAS win comfortably with a resounding majority of 2631. That is like three times more in 2008 Razali-Mat Sabu-Nenek fight.

My congratulation to PAS and YB Mohd Abdul Wahid Endut, ADUN Wakaf Mempelam and Member of Parliament for Kuala Terengganu who garnered a total 32,883 votes.

In this election, I also saw two political parties of the far ends, the secular DAP and the Islamist PAS working together to destroy UMNO-BN. Seeing PAS in DAP ceramahs and vice versa is a sign of great unity and understanding between the two parties. I think both combined could be a lethel weapon in Pakatan to destroy the evil Barisan.

Good work YB Mohd Abdul Wahid Endut, now is the hard work. Congratulations again. Takbir...

Introducing the Bankrupt Party....MCA

MCA is definitely bankrupt party. Bankrupt for the fact that they have no issues to raise except challenging DAP on Hudud. First it came from their President advising DAP to boycott the by-election and nowTerengganu State MCA Chair, Toh Chin Yaw is challenging DAP stand on the matter. Simply bankrupt. Maybe DAP should just advised MCA to sack their political bereau chief for all the wrong advise.

MCA in fact should be more constructive in correcting the wrong that is long pending such as major issues of corruption and integrity. Especially so when BN major shareholder is seen as the most corrupt with money politics all over until police reports were lodged against their leaders. Maybe MCA should also go back into history when they supported the former Prime Minister's declaration that Malaysia is an Islamic State or Malay Supremacy coined by UMNO. Or maybe what happen to Amanah, Bersih dan Cekap. So if MCA fails to explain themselves on the issues mentioned therein, don't challenge the DAP with Hudud.

MCA's challenge is only a ploy or a political game to get votes from the Chinese. As far as I am concern, PAS will not implement Hudud at the Federal level. Husam Musa have retracted it and it ends there. As such Hudud is a non issue for now. If PAS intends to introduce it, there must be discussion and debate within their Pakatan partners and not unilaterally act upon it. We all know that PAS, alone with only 23 Parliamentarians cannot at any point adopt Hudud as Malaysia Criminal law. PAS need 2/3 to amend the constitution or pass a law by majority. So as far as Malaysia as it is now is concerned, still follows largely the Penal Code. As such, MCA's challenge is just a dog barking liken to be empty vassel making the loudest noise.

So as far as I am concern, the DAP will support PAS in this by-election without any second thought. The DAP will make sure a victory in PAS election come January 17, and of course, the next seat, Pesiangan, Sabah, and the year after that the fall of Sarawak and hopefully would see the down fall of the Barisan Nasional federal government. That would be a dream come true.

The Permatang Pauh By-Election....

Damn it. I can't work. I am overly stress. I am anxious. All because of Permatang Pauh. I'm crossing my fingers that DSAI will win big not just 15,000 or 17,000 but a very very big win and hopefully destroy completely BN in Permatang Pauh. Let it be a wiped out of BN in Penang.

With Guan Eng as CM, and the state administration performance thus far, no way BN will wrestle back for another 50 years. If DSAI wins big or bigger than the majority of Datin Seri, it will be an endorsement of DSAI as the sixth Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Hidup Anwar.
Hidup Guan Eng.
Hidup Tok Guru.

Geez, what about R.A.H.M.A.N. , looks like the 'N' has to just wait for his turn.

D-Day August 26

It will be DSAI
a. Entry into Parliament after 10 years
b. Realisation of power route by 16th September 2008
c. Installed as 6th Prime Minister of Malaysia

versus god-knows-who

well the BN Management Committee meets today to discuss who-has-the-guts to take on DSAI. Whosoever that may be, it will be a field day for DSAI. So it will be a D-Day for DSAI starting from August 26 en route to mission accomplish...

Costly Affair at Permatang Pauh

If it is going to be a costly affair, my advise to BN is let Anwar have his sit in Parliament. They the BN government can go around and declare that they are a "Kerajaan yang berjiwa Rakyat". Anyway putting anybody there would definitely be a waste of money. Especially so when the government in order to wack Anwar 'habis-habisan' will either employ police and the army to so-called restore order and peace OR will probably pour a lot of money like the By-election in Ijok and Machap where millions of goodies were spend in order to win in the by-elections.
I will be observing three issues in this coming by-election and will probably blog about it after the election. The three are:-

(i) this by-election will be the dirtiest election in the history of Malaysia politics with all sorts dirty linen washed publicly for all to see.

(ii) the unity of the Opposition in fighting under one banner called PAKATAN RAKYAT for the first time and to gauge the popularity of Anwar and whether he is RELEVANT to Malaysia politics.

(iii) whether BN will continue to manipulate the media or rather ALTERNATIVE MEDIA versus MAINSTREAM MEDIA

It will definitely be a battle to watch.

----- taken from the Star

PUTRAJAYA: The by-election in Permatang Pauh, which will see PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim contesting, will be a "costly affair".

Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said there were both "direct and indirect" costs involved in ensuring that the whole democratic process was run efficiently and peacefully.

"The by-election is too soon after the general election in March. If (former MP) Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail had said earlier that she was giving way to Anwar, then the voters may have decided differently then.

"People don't usually see the indirect costs. More policemen will need to be deployed to Permatang Pauh to ensure that the whole process is conducted smoothly and peacefully, and to ensure there is no untoward incident.

"This whole operation costs extra money," he told reporters Tuesday after the ministry's monthly assembly here.

He however declined to give the number of personnel expected to be deployed for the by-election or the cost involved.

"The size of the force will depend on the excitement and emotion on the ground," he said.

On suggestions by various Umno members and PAS for Barisan Nasional not to run against Anwar, Syed Hamid said this was for the coalition leadership to decide.

"Maybe PAS can offer one of their seats instead to Anwar. After all, they are in the Pakatan Rakyat family," he said.

Indelible Ink...a suggestion?

The use of indelible ink for the general election is JUST a suggestion and not a directive says PM Abdullah. And how much our money is spend for the ink? Over RM2 MILLION. Our money. Did we used the ink? NOPE NOT AT ALL. AND our Government says A SUGGESTION. When the government purchase it by spending RM2 MILLION over, is there not an intention to purchase it? Or rather than, in whose money that we purchase the indelible ink?

Helooooooo? Can anybody answer me?

Hmmmm.... Is This True?

Is this true? Or just a myth. I received this from a friend of mine. There are some banners found around KL demanding for the Prime Minister to resign. The words printed on some of the banners are strong indication demanding 'Pak Lah BERUNDUR'. If this is true, then UMNO members should request for an EGM to discuss the disastrous result of the 12th General Election since Merdeka and at the same time to look back at all policies that are damaging to the general feeling and perspective of all Malaysians. UMNO must NOT be arrogant. Losing five states and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur is one thing but losing four economic giants (Selangor, Perak, Penang and KL) is another thing. Serious thoughts needed for UMNO.

BN's kuli

The most no manners police in the whole station.
Damn bas**** chap.
Konon tunjuk lagak tetapi UMNO punya polis.

Saudara Goh almost arrested

Special Branch (the boss Tuan Lim)

The whole damn police where one of them have a machine gun

I am very ashamed of the Police DiRaja Malaysia. I believed the Yang DiPertuan Agong is also ashamed of such despicable act of the Kuli of the Barisan Nasional government. Using the Royal Malaysian Police as a tool to satisfy their own political gain.

It all started when I was delivering my speech, some supporters told Saudara Goh Leong San (Candidate for Kesidang and former ADUN for Banda Hilir) that Special Branch aka Mata, was recording our speeches and also that of the people. Recording our speeches, no problem with that, but what sore us all is the recording of the people that attended our ceramah. This is uncalled for and an act of instilling fear amongst the voters. This is so wrong and not professional at all. As such Saudara Goh's anger and frustration towards the police is justifiable.

Of course the police retaliate by wanting to show who's boss. Like a gangster after our ceramah stormed into DAP office kicked our chairs and wanting to go into the inner hall which we insists that they can't come in as we have many confidential stuff. Of course that cause uneasiness on the police starting to make arrest against Saudara Goh. Immediately we (Koh Sze Choon - candidate for Klebang and I) took shots on such high-handedness of the police in performing their duty.

I do believe that Saudara Goh's anger and frustration is shared not only by all DAP candidates or DAP Melaka but by everybody who witness the incident. As like in all games, there must be fair play and integrity by all concerned including the Police.

I on behalf of all DAP candidates and Melaka DAP, strongly condemned such unprofessional act of the police. I must say that they are subordinate to the laws of this land.

Just Change It

I had a wonderful time with my Saudara and Saudari from DAP campaigning for each other. We believe that there will be great things happening in this coming week. I'm looking forward for the real campaign where we hope to go into places which we never stepped into. Such as the UMNO hard land which some locals will declare that it is a place of "Kubu UMNO, kubur DAP". I got the strong feeling that it will be the other way around.

Many spoke about the MCA banner that reads "Good, can be Better" tag line. Maybe I should ask them, Is pig slaughtering, good or can it be better meaning a total wipe out. Less Chinese schools GOOD, hmmm or can it be better meaning to say, wipe it all out. Or what about the demolition of temples? Good? Or should it be BETTER?

Is our economy good? Prices of essential are going up, so is this GOOD, well MCA feels that it should be BETTER UP.

Let us say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH with such bulls*it and stupid promises by MCA. I am just so fed up with all the lies created by UMNO-MCA-MIC-GERAKAN. Let us have a change for a better Malaysia.

Dare to Change * Just Change It

Rasuah Sayang...

Mari kita menyanyi lagu Rasuah Sayang eh
(petik dari blog Kit Siang)

Rasuah sayang eh
Rasuah Sayang Sayang eh,
He lihat Pak Lah tidur
Rasa sayang sayang eh,

Budak mongolia di luar pagar,
Ambil C4 tolong bombkan,
Saya budak baru nak mengajar,
Kalau salah you duduk diam - diam.

Rasuah sayang eh
Rasuah sayang sayang eh
Eh lihat Zam bodoh rasa sayang sayang eh

Zainuddin kita nak marah al - jazeera,
tapi sendiri tak berpengetahuan,
Mungkinkah belajar dari [deleted]*,
Kerana jawapannya macam ketam.

Eh rasuah sayang sayang Eh
Eh lihat parliment rasa sayang sayang eh

Parliment kita macam zoo negara,
Penuh dengan banyak binatang,
Ada beruk, monyet dan kera,
Kalau pergi sana bawalah kacang,

Rasuah Sayang
Eh rasuah sayang sayang eh
Eh lihat rempit jauh rasa sayang sayang eh

Khari kata rempit sangat terer,
Mereka ialah mat cemerlang,
Otaknya sekarang entah mana,
Mungkin nak jadi rempit di longkang.

Rasuah sayang eh rasuah sayang sayang eh
Eh lihat bola kita jauh rasa sayang sayang eh

Dulu kita main bola peringkat antarabangsa,
Sekarang main macam ketam,
Kalah 5 - 1 kepada Cina,
Semalam pula kalah kepada vietnam.

Rasuah Sayang Eh
Rasuah Sayang Sayang Eh
Eh lihat Indonesia jauh rasa sayang sayang eh

Rasa sayang milik indonesia

Otak engkau lagu ini milik kita
Kita punya Rasuah sayang sebenarnya

Rasuah sayang eh

Eh lihat polis jauh rasa sayang sayang eh

Bila nak tiba hari raya
Polis kita merata rata
Muka mereka semacam saja
Bagi IC dan ringgit Malaysia

Rasuah sayang eh

Money Politics? Who?

Press Statement By Lim Guan Eng In Petaling Jaya On 11.2.2008:

The Prime Minister Should Lodge A Corruption Report Against Those Who Offered Him Money As Failure To Do So Is An Offence Under Section 17 Of The 1997 Anti-Corruption Act

DAP urges Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to lodge a corruption report against those who offered him money as failure to do so is an offence under section 17 of the 1997 Anti-Corruption Act. Abdullah was reported by the New Straits Times on 9.2.2008 whilst attending the Penang Chinese Town Hall’s Chinese New Year open house that,

“I have not benefited one sen from anyone for what I have done. Some people want to give me money but I don’t need it. The government takes good care of its prime minister.”

DAP is shocked that “some people” dares to offer to give money to the top leader of our country. Wanting to give money to the Prime Minister is no different from corruption. Is corruption so endemic that those who subvert integrity are so bold as to attempt to bribe the Prime Minister? No wonder Malaysia has slipped under the Transparency International Corruption Perception Index (CPI) from No. 37 when he took over as Prime Minister in 2003 to No. 43 last year.

DAP is extremely disappointed that Abdullah did not take any action against those who attempted to bribe him. Under Section 17 of the Anti-Corruption Act he has a statutory duty as a public officer to report bribery transactions.

17(1) Any officer of a public body to whom any gratification is given, promised, or offered, in contravention of any provision of this Act shall report such gift, promise or offer together with the name, if known, of the person who gave, promised or offered such gratification to him to the nearest officer of the Agency or police officer.

17(2) Any person who fails to comply with subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years or to both.

These are severe penalties for failure to comply with the law in reporting bribery transactions. But many do not bother to do so. By failing to file reports with the ACA, Abdullah is not only failing to uphold the law he is also indirectly encouraging corrupt practices by failing to check the actions and act against the corrupt.

DAP urges the Prime Minister to reaffirm his commitment towards establishing integrity and battling corruption everywhere and anywhere. By complying with Section 17 of the Act, Abdullah would encourage many other public officers who have been offered money to follow suit. Only by taking the lead in reporting such attempts to give him money and arresting the culprits, can we effectively combat corruption from the highest levels.

Pak Lah's favourite number

13. Everybody seems to dislike or hate this number except for Pak Lah. His Proton Chancellor registration number bears the number 13. And more recently the number has been officially declared to be his favourite number as stated in some newspaper article. This is what he has to say “Yes, I like the number 13. It’s because nobody wants it. Those who are superstitious may say habislah if they got number 13".

NOBODY WANTS IT... so he said. As such putting a claim on the number as his. Making political pundits putting their guessing game and betting that February 13, the date of dissolution of Parliament paving the way of the 12th general elections.

Well I'm crossing my fingers. Just want to see whether it's acah acah aje....
