It's a Celebration at Magnolia-licious

Hello, Friends. It’s a new year and the Magnolia-licious DT are back to get you inspired with our 2014 challenges. Our first challenge of the year is…

CELEBRATION

Any celebratory theme will get you a chance to win a Surprise from the Magnolia-licious store.

It’s been almost a month since I posted a project and it’s good to be back into my familiar routine after the holidays. Although my crafty mojo has been missing a bit so it was hard to get started.

For the celebration theme I made a Birthday card. It features “Tilda with Large Balloon” from the new Lost and Found collection. My DPs are from Pion Design with a bit of vintage style.

I did a little distressing, sewing and crackle paint on my flowers for interest and texture. I colored Tilda with Copics and cut a circle frame for her to sit on a new Spellbinders die cut.

Here’s a close up of Tilda. She’s so cute.

Don’t forget to leave a comment on any of the Magnolia-licious  and DT blogs/posts for a chance to win a weekly prize. The winner is announced every week during the “W”ednesday post.

So now that you’ve had a chance to see my card, go visit the Challenge blog to get more inspiration from the Design Team. You will see some new team members added recently and I’m so thrilled to be a part of this team with these wonderful ladies.

Anything Goes at Magnolia-licious

Hello, Friends. I’m back with some inspiration to share with you for our new challenge at Magnolia-licious and our theme this time is truly the easiest challenge ever…

Anything Goes!

My card features Afternoon Tea Tilda and her Afternoon Tea Bench from the NEW Little London collection. I distressed my Pion papers with my Zutter Distress-it-all, sponged it with Frayed Burlap then I added some Texturez Shimmerpaintz around the edges. I love the sparkly texture effect it gives the card.

I used a few new items on my card. The Teapot die cut is from Elizabeth Craft Designs which I've had for some time and now have the perfect theme to use it with my Magnolia stamped image. I added a pretty flower button for my bow and I can’t forget the darling teapot charm, it’s so vintage yet elegant. I also made a few of my own flowers for this card.

I love shabby chic style so did some distressing, added some lace, chic pearls and buttons and that’s all there is to it.

Anything Goes with Vintage/Frantage option

Hello, Friends! We are back with a new challenge for you at Midweek Magnolias. This week we have a real easy one…

Anything Goes with
Vintage/Frantage option

If you’re like me, you like to be at the forefront of some of the newest crafting products. And I gotta tell ya, I am all about the Frantage Vintage Embossing Enamels from Stampendous. I can’t get enough of them.

This week I used “Sweet Pea Tilda” from the Once Upon a Time collection on my card. I don’t often color using the no-lines method but I wanted to challenge myself this week and made a go of it. I used Aged Ivory Frantage around her frame then distressed with Brushed Corduroy.

My papers are from Pion this week and I get mine at C’est Magnifique. I added a flower spray using Prima, Kort & Godt, WOC and a Marianne Designs Rolled Rose die cut. My tag is a Magnolia Tilda Ticket die cut distressed and stamped with Magnolia postage stamps.

The lace was white but I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist. The birdhouse chipboard is from Maya Road, embossed with Aged Teal Frantage. I added a bird charm from Nunn Designs and vintage seam binding from WOC. The pearls from Queen and Co. in the corners finish the card.

I’m entering this card in the following challenges:

Totally Tilda – Postage
Simply Magnolia – Layers and Lace
Make It Monday – Anything Goes

We would love for you to join us this week and don’t forget to stop over at the DT’s blogs for inspiration.

I also used Magnolia Butterfly Kit stamps with SU Eggplant ink. This is such a pretty jeweled color.

Midweek Magnolias - Color Inspiration

Hello, Friends! The Midweek Magnolias has a new challenge for you with a Color Combo…

We picked a photo from Design Seeds (see below) and I just love this Web site for color inspiration and the photos are spectacular.

This week my card features an adorable stamp called “Tilda with Corkscrews” from the Once Upon a Time collection. I don’t know about you but I am “old enough” to remember my mother using strips of fabric for rolling my hair in the evening. She would roll my hair on the fabric in a corkscrew method and wrap it so I would have corkscrew curls in the morning. Today, they call it spiral curls and it’s usually a perm. LOL

I colored Tilda with Copics but I have to give credit to Cinzia. I love her artwork and her coloring always inspires me. I used a similar technique for my folds in Tilda’s Dress. It just looks so natural. Go check out Cinzia’s blog. She does a lovely job on her coloring.

I added a background stamp that I got from Magnolia-licious called “Princess Castle” of the Princes and Princesses 2012 collection. She pairs so nicely with these images. And I used the darling Mice stamp from my Magnolia Stamp Club collection. To be honest, I was humming the Cinderella song “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” while coloring this cutie. It reminded me of the darling mice mending and dressing her in the morning. I have granddaughters that are Disney Fans so you’ll have to bear with me…LOL

Here’s a close up of Tilda. She is one of my new favorite stamps.

And...here's your Color Inspiration Photo for this week.

I’m entering this card in the following challenges:

CLP – Sketch
Tilda’s Town – Use a Magnolia Background
MDUC – Lace and Flowers
Make It Monday – Anything Goes

We would love for you to join us at Midweek Magnolias and don’t forget to stop over at the DT’s blogs for inspiration on our color theme.
