Magnolia-licious - Anything Goes with the Option of Metal

Hello, Magnolia Friends. Happy Tuesday!

It’s the first Tuesday of the month and that means we have a new challenge

“Anything Goes” with the option of Metal.

I’ve been away for a while but now I’m back to crafting and boy, did I miss it!!!

My card for this new challenge features “Little Miss Tilda” from the Sakura collection. My designer papers are from Maja Designs, Vintage Spring Basics collection paired with Bazzill cardstock. I distressed my designer paper panels with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and cut out some butterflies from the paper collection for springy dimensional detail.

I used lots of fun Magnolia DooHickey dies for an Easter theme. My tags have some Martha Stewart lace and white baker’s twine. A doily, some chipboard under Tilda’s frames for dimension and WOC flowers finishes the card.

Here’s a close up of Tilda colored with Copics.

Check out the new Springtime DooHickey dies in the store. I love the cute daffodils; I can't wait to play with these! Shawn also has the new Magnolia Spring Time Stamp Collection available now at Magnolia-licious

I hope I’ve inspired you to join us for the challenge and I’m looking forward to seeing your lovely creations.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

Magnolia-licious Easter Blog Hop

Hello Magnolia, Fans!

Today we are hosting an Easter Blog Hop with 2 chances to win a $20 gift certificate from Magnolia-licious.

I am kicking off this Easter Hop, so whether you came here from the Challenge Blog or not you are in the right place for us to share our Easter crafts inspiration with you.

For my project I created a cute little Easter basket box using my Silhouette Cameo and I added some adorable die cuts with inspiration I found on Pinterest and Magnolia’s most recent DooHickey die club kit. My daffodils were a last minute addition so I included some of the darling DooHickey grass die cut along with my Lawn Fawn grass.

My basket motif features “Tilda picking Carrot” from the Sakura collection. I created an Easter banner with the DooHickey dies hanging among the basket on craft straws that I made with cardstock and pink polka-dot ribbon to match my pastel color theme.

I put some pretty glittered eggs in the basket and created a “digging bunny” die cut from circle, scallop and oval dies. Sister bunny is digging for goodies in the basket and has become a bad influence on her little brother that is sitting watching her search for carrots. LOL…so comical and adorable. My grandkids are sure to love this one.

I had such fun making this project. I get a ton of inspiration from Pinterest and this one came from a Stampin’ Up creation by Amy Koenders. I just had to add this cutie to my basket.

Here is a close up of Tilda colored with Copics and some pretty pearl pollen around her frame.

Easter Optional Bunnies at Midweek Magnolias

Happy Hump Day, Friends! It’s that time again for a new challenge at Midweek Magnolias. This fortnight our theme is…

“Easter with the options of Bunnies”

This time I decided to use both an Easter theme card with bunnies.

My card this week features the “Ballerina Bunny Tilda” from the 2013 Little Easter collection. I just love coloring her pink. She’s such a sweet stamp. I colored her with Copics and used my new Tim Holtz Marker Spritzer for her background. What a fun tool.

The DPs this time are from Maja Designs, Vintage Summer Basics. I love these vintage papers especially when you can distress and stitch them, so chic. I added two Magnolia Rabbit stamps with Seafoam Embossing Powder and cut them out. They make cute accents for an Easter card.

My project for the Easter-Spring Hop is a darling Easter basket featuring Tilda with Egg and Chicken. Tilda was such fun to color with my Copics. I used so many. I gave her some pretty green grass at her feet and a bright sunny background.

Here’s my basket from another angle. I added a few flowers, my favorite Heart Swirl die cuts and some vintage seam binding.

Easter/Spring Challenge

Hello, Friends. It’s time again for a new challenge at Magnolia-licous & Wee Stamps. This fortnight we are celebrating…

Easter/Spring

The DT has created some awesome cards and projects so I hope you stop over to the Challenge Blog for lots of beautiful inspiration.

My card features Tilda with Egg and Chicken from the 2013 Easter Collection colored with Copics. The background is created with Sky Blue ColorBox Ink and a cloud template I cut from cardstock. My designer paper is from Doodlebug Design and matted on Bazzill cardstock.

I got to play with a lot of die cuts for this card using my Magnolia fence, grass and the lace folded dies. I used my Catalina Wreath from Memory Box and my Butterflight "On the Edge" die from Tim Holtz. The butterflies die was run through my Fiskars crimping tool, sponged with white acrylic paint and I used pearls for the bodies. The tag is adorned with vintage seam binding and flowers from WOC and Martha Stewart lace. The sentiment is from the new Easter Collection.

My large and small bunnies are Magnolia stamps that have been heat embossed with Concord and Sangria embossing powders from Sparkle and Sprinkle. Then I cut them out and adhered them to the grass. I finished off the card with flowers from WOC and die cut leaves from Marianne Designs.

The inside is simple with papers from the front and stamped with Tilda’s Chicken.

Supplies
Stamps: Magnolia
Ink: Memento; ColorBox
Cardstock: Bazzill

I Brake for Easter Baskets

Hi, everyone. Tuesdays will be never be the same for my blog. That’s because I have joined I Brake for Stamps Design Team as of last week. So I will be posting a weekly project with awesome products from the store here as well as projects for our monthly challenge blog here. So with that, my first project is for our Challenge that officially begins tomorrow. Our theme this month is Easter.
I created a cute little mini Easter basket. These make great favors for friends or your children’s friends. My basket is a simple angled box frame. You can download my template here. I used strips of cardstock to make a weave pattern design for the box exterior. For the handle I used an EK Success punch and added some pink grosgrain ribbon. I would suggest using brads to attach your handle for a strong hold if you plan are filling it with Easter goodies. I adhered mine with ScorTape.
I used a Magnolia die cut for the tag and stamped my sweet “Bunny Tail End” image and colored him with Copics. Isn't he adorable? I distressed the edges around my tag with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. Finally, I took the scraps of cardstock I used for my weave paper and ran it through my Fiskars Crimper then shredded it with my Martha Stewart Fringe scissors to make the basket grass.
These are the Copics I used to color my image.

I’m entering this project in Make It Monday – Anything Goes Linky Party.

OK…now I know you’ve been waiting for the most exciting part of this post and that is Candy time. What’s your favorite childhood Easter Holiday memory? Leave me a comment and I will put your name in a hat and let my hubby draw a winner next week. I’ll announce the winner before my next post on Tuesday. You will have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the I Brake for Stamps store.

And don’t forget…you can save 10% at I Brake for Stamps just by using my coupon code SAVE10CATHY.

Thanks for letting me share my project with you today and have a wonderful week.

Happy Easter-Spring

Hello Friends and Visitors! I made this card last weekend for the Magnolia-licious Highlites Easter-Spring Extravaganza Contest. There are three categories you can enter and some outstanding prizes. The voting will take place by Magnolia-licious Yahoo Group members which is so fabulous.

My entry for category #1 is an Easter card with lots of flowery colors.

I love this color combo. The DPs are from TPC Studio which I just got at Archiver’s.

My sweet little Tilda with her Bunny was colored with Copics in Blue Greens and Orange(YRs). For her Bunny I used the C0 series. I added Stickles to the bow of Tilda’s hat and Glossy Accents to her shoes and I gave bunny a white fluffy tail with some flock. I used my Spellbinders Circle die for the background and embossed the edge then I added some pumpkin colored ink with a sponge applicator around the embossing.

I machine stitched the DP panels and added Marianne Designs doily and Tilda Lace die cuts. The lace ribbon trim matched perfectly with my DPs which are both from Archiver’s. My flowers are from WOC and Recollections. The blue flowers I got at Hobby Lobby originally in white so I sprayed them with Turquoise Glimmer Mist to match my color scheme. I added some leaves under my flowers with my Nellie Snellen punch and I finished off the front with some pearls and a Spellbinders label die for my Happy Easter sentiment. Then I gave the label a coat of Stickles in eucalyptus and orange.

For the inside of my card I added elements from the front with a matted blank circle ready for a personal sentiment. Then I finished it off with a simple ribbon tie.

I hope you enjoyed my card as much as I did creating it. I’m working on the other two categories for this challenge so I hope to see you again soon. Thanks for stopping by.
