Petal Cone - Santa Elf

I've been thinking of colors for this cute box and it didn't disappoint me. Here's a cute elf version! Just like my Santa Petal Cone, I used Glitter paper #121790, red this time.

I also discovered I had tons of small red buttons... voila!!! Very cute embellishment that sealed the design :) I believe buttons are the best dimension to use in any project :)

Many have asked me how I sealed these boxes.. just the plain four-side fold :) Have you seen those Petal card folds?... exactly like that :) You can seal them with a sticky strip if you have a heavy item in it. Just remember to fold the scores well so your box may stand perfectly.

Ok, Ok... I know you're intsy about details of the elf :)

Supplies and Tools Used:
Cardstock:
- Lucky Limeade - (the box)
- Whisper White - (for the beard and mustache)
- Blushing Bride (for the face)
- Poppy Parade (for the nose)

Punches:
- Ornament Punch #119847 (for the rim of the hat)
- Large Oval Punch #119855(Santa's face)
- Cupcake Builder Punch #121807(for the eyes)
- Itty Bitty Punch Pack #118309(circle - for the nose)
- Boho Blossom Punch #119858(large flower - for the pom pom tip of Santa's hat)
- 2-Step Bird Building Punch #117191 (for Santa's mustache)

BigShot Tools:
- Textured Impression Embossing Folder #116824 (TIEF - Petals a Plenty)
- Petal Cone Die #121810

Here's how they look in a set :)

Altered Milk Carton Boxes

These boxes have been so popular since the 2011 SU! Convention. What a brilliant way to use the SU! Bigshot Milk Carton Die #117310. At first, I thought it would be hard to make them but I'm now additively making them :)..hihi.

As you can see, I'm making so many versions of them just to see how versatile designs can fit this lovely box.

TO MAKE THEM:
Just have 2 Milk Carton Die cut pieces and cut off the 4th side of each piece (the end side WITHOUT the little flap). Scorefold each piece and connect them together with crystal effects glue #101055 (the best glue out there) :)

I've tried many ribbons that would fit these boxes but found that the Organza Ribbon #114319 graced these boxes beautifully. Anything thinner than the 5/8" ribbon would not do justice to these boxes (my opinion :)) Try using the 5/8" Satin ribbons!!

You can also use the XL Tag Punch #119866 to cover up each side of the box as well as the Scallop Square punch #119884! The NEW Lace Ribbon Border #122362 can also be a beautiful embellishment.

To GET a STEP to STEP illustrated TUTORIAL, click HERE.

Supplies used:
Stamp Set:
- Up, Up and Away #122757-Clear
- Tagstastic #122747 (Hostess Set)
SU BigShot Die:
- Milk Carton Die #117310
- Tasteful Trim #120893
Punches:
- XL Tag Punch #119866
- Lace Ribbon Border #122362
- Doily Triple Layer #122465
- Bojo Blossom Punch #119858
Other Supplies:
- Textured Impression Folder #123113
- Basic Pearls #119247
- Whisper White Organza Ribbon #114319

Summer Cake- Just for You

I just love the NEW Pool Party color. Reminds me of Sea Foam blue color. I've always liked this color that's always used in so many home decor elements like in the bedroom or bathroom.

Well here's another cake version of what it would look like with the NEW In colors. I also used the Calypso Coral for the flower. I made the cake also in Wisteria Wonder - the new lavender/purple for me. What's your favorite? I also used the NEW border punches, Lace Ribbon Border, #122362 and Doily Triple Layer #122465.

The new stamp is the New Hostess Stamp Set - Tagstastic #122747-clear #122745-Wood using with the Calypso Coral Ink #122939.

Happy 4th Birdhouse

Happy 4th everyone! I hope your plans for this weekend goes with stunning glow of fireworks and bbq feast. I had some request for a July 4th project and I had to share this with you. Like any celebration, you can't pass up a whimsical decoration for July 4th get-together event. So here's a nice project you can make this weekend for your delight.

My plans for the 4th are usually celebrating it with family and friends. We go to the park after a nice dinner and watch the fireworks. We usually just leave chairs and blanket to save our spot in the park fair in the afternoon. Then by sunset, the band in the park plays for the city as we patiently wait for the fireworks. It's also nice to see a variety of proud and happy people in the park enjoying the sight and sounds. Hou about you? What are your usual plans for the 4th?

Have a nice weekend! Tutorials available on the right side of this blog post. More birdhouse designs HERE.

Sunburst Flower Treats

The first name that popped in my dad's head when I asked his thoughts about this project, he immediately suggested that they look like "sunburst flowers" to him. Thus, gave birth to the name of these treats. hihi.

Aren't these sooo cute. I used the SU! Treat Cups #116802 on both sides sealing them back to back. Then cover these cups with 2 XL Flower Folds BigShot die #115970 on both sides. Don't forget to adhere the flowers together on its petals.

You must be wondering how I cut a hole in the center of the flower to fit the cups. Easy! First, take a template of your 1-3/4" circle Punch #119850 and tape it on the center of each flower before adhering 2 flower folds together.
Cut through one corner between petals then cut-trace your circle. You have your hole.

Don't worry that your flower folds have opening cuts because they'd be covered with another piece of circle ring which you can make by using your 1-3/4" Circle punch #119850 then your 2-1/2" Circle punch #120906, in that order. You can emboss or stamp the ring before adhering them onto the outer center of the treat cups.

I added a 1/4" grosgrain ribbon as a handle and tied a tag with an elastic silver string #109866.

For a class, email me soon! Easter is closing in and you want your easter projects done!!!

Round Easter Bunny Basket

OMG! The time just flew for me, I didn't realize I've not posted anything for a week now. My apologies, my friends. I have been trying to make these unique baskets for easter with little time spent to assemble it.

Well first of all, I'd make the bunny punch art first. Here's HOW TO MAKE the bunnies (make them without their feet).

These boxes were carefully created to make a round base basket where they can be easily stacked together for easy storage or quick transport. They are so cute with any treats in the boxes like Chocolate Kisses or Nuggets, or Jelly Beans, or any Easter treat. You can even fit your plastic eggs in them :) Anwyay, you'll love these baskets so much you will be able to use it in any season or any occassion.

There are no templates or dies used to make these basket/pail that's why it's so fast and inexpensive to make. A technique was used here that you've never seen before.

To order a tutorial on how to make a round basket. Click the "Buy It Not" Button.
A tutorial will be sent to your email disclosed with Paypal within 24 hours.

Easter Pals - Bunny Hop Punch Art

Hi! I've been creating these Easter Punch Arts in my mind for weeks now and I finally got it into paper! The hardest part was giving cute expressions on their faces. Today, I'll show you my chocolate bunny. Some say it looks like the bunny from the movie "HOP"...hihi. I will go along to show you the rest in the next few days. So be patient. It's worth waiting for the tutorial :)

Punch needed:
- Ornament Punch #119847(for the head)
- Large Oval punch #119855(for the ears)
- Small Oval Punch #119863(for the inner ear and the feet)
- 3/4" x 15/16" Oval Punch # (for the cheek and arms) also for an egg
- 2 Step Bird Punch #117191 (used the wings of the bird for the eyes)
- Owl Punch #118074( used the owl for the body, used the eyes for iris)
- Itty Bitty Punch Pack #118309(use the circle for the nose)

TIP: Sponge all Chocolate Chip CS with Whisper White Kraft Ink. Sponge the Very Vanilla bird wings with Tempting Turquoise Ink. Sponge the Very Vanilla cheek ovals, Pink Pirouette inner ears, and nose with Chocolate Chip Brown Ink.

As you can see, I cut off the owls ears and feet (sounds sadistic, but no pun intended, sorry owl). For the feet, just follow the way I cut a piece off. Cut the other piece in the opposite direction, you don't want to give your bunny 2 left feet..hihi.

TIP: When positioning the cheeks, put them on a slanting "V" position, like a smile.

Cut your Chocolate Chip Ovals in a "BEAN" shape to make arms. Don't forget the nose!

Highlight your bunny with black and white gel pens! Your punch art will look more dimensional. TIP: Use your 3/4"x 15/16" oval to make an egg for your bunny to hold. I'd use Dazzling Diamonds #102023 to glitter the eggs (again to make it more dimensional) :)

Cindy's Totes - Share

I got this share from Cindy Hall who purchased my Tote box tutorial:) She was so kind to share it with us. Here's what she commented when she shared it with me:
" I just have been so tickled with the totes that I wanted to share with you how cute "your" tote turned out. Since giving them out I have gotten rave reviews about them. My friends seem to always be more impressed with the presentation than the actual gift. Thanks again...Cindy"

Cindy does not have a blog but she'll surely appreciate the comments here. Thanks again Cindy. I'm sure you'll have a year round of fun when you use these totes in different occassions and seasons.

If you have purchased any tutorial in my blog, please feel free to share :)
