Scrapbook Pages from the Past - My Sweetie

It's Scrapbook month, I just thought about digging into my archives and find something inspirational. Before I joined the SU family, I was into heavy scrapbooking and was in the zone of making cute pages as a Tear Bear enthusiast. The passion just grew and found it's way to selling them. However, when I stumbled upon the idea of being a SU demonstrator, my scrapbooking days just came to a halt.

I really don't know if this is good or bad but I surely don't regret being where I am now. Loving Stampin Up! So here are some shares of what I've done in the past. I hope you enjoy browsing as much as I made them.

Page one of my Sweets Page. Pictures of your love ones having ice cream or desserts may be added onto these pages. My Tear Bears were handmade from scratch. On this page, they expressed the passion of baking.

Page two of my Sweets Page. On this page, my bear shows off her desserts.

Here's a close up of my faux dessert made from scratch. They were not store bought but were created with different techniques I've discovered in the process. I will be using this process soon in making my cards and 3D projects :)

SWEET CHRISTMAS

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL! By this time, we have already opened our gifts and drank our egg nogs and ate our Christmas traditional dinner. Who could pass up the Christmas sweets that just puts the icing on the cake and the cherry on top of the Holiday Celebration. I would like to share this Scrapbook page I've been working on. I used parts of the Ski Slope, Holiday Treasures and the Hawaiian Papaya DSP. I'm so happy to see that any combination from cross DSP sets go so well and coordinated with each other.

I love my Tear Bear and Marshmallow man, they go well together too. I used Dimensional Fabric Paint to give out that icing look on the GingerBread House. And of course, madly sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds to give that sugary look..hee. Makes you want to eat the page.

2008 Holiday Faire was a Success

We did it! Our first Holiday Craft Faire! It was fun setting up for the event as well as meeting customers. The cards and bears came out so beautiful and attractive, we hit good sales specially on Saturday. We got custom orders as well as leads for those who were interested in hosting classes. We also made scalloped turkeys which SOLD OUT! Some kids bought them for class projects and some as thanksgiving decor on the dinner tables. Oh my, this was really a great experience. We can't wait for the next one which will be on December 6th in Mission Viejo.

Special thanks to Christine who helped us with the cashiering. She was so alert and showed great initiative. The beautiful cards you see are made by Raidis and she really got so many compliments and orders for them too. Check out her blog too. http://www.seekandkeep.blogspot.com/ .

Christine's Indian Girl Project

Here'a a cute project Christine, my dear friend and Godchild made. Her art project was for a National PTA Program called Reflections Program Theme: "Wow!" Well, to my surprise, it really wowed me. Isn't it cute. She is a true artist. Thank you for sharing Christine.
Here is Christine Smet's Artist Statement: My visual artwork relates to the theme of "Wow" because it shows one of India's many temples with tear bear, Little Miss India. A tear bear is a paper bear. My tear bear is made with mulberry paper and designer paper. I have drawn the temple in the background and have used chalk, flowers, and rhinestones to give it color. The 12 x 12 inch paper is cardstock. There are two people who inspired me to make this - my aunt who showed me how to make tear bears last summer, and my kindergarten and first grade teacher who sent me a picture of the temple that I have drawn in the background. I have visited Hindu temples like the one I have drawn when I went to Bali, Indonesia.

Christmas Card Couples

Good Morning! I hope you had a nice weekend! My weekend is pretty busy getting ready for another Workshop and building up inventory for the Holiday Faire. Well here is one of those items I will be featuring in the craft faire in November.

I used the "Chocolate Chip" cardstock, together with scraps of Real Red and Old Olive cardstocks using the scallop punch. The DSP card background was from the "Holiday Treasures" again. I love that series because the patterns blend well with each other. SU really makes there DSP pattern designs well coordinated.

I used a stamp from the "Deer Friends" set, stamped with the Chocolate Chip Ink. Isn't it cute! I know I had to do more into this card (like stiching and adding my Tear Bear) but it was worth it. Anyway, have a great day!

Night Before Christmas

This is the first time I'm sharing my scrapbook pages in my blog. "It was a night before Christmas when 2 little bears wanted to see Santa's presents.........". That was how I began with these pages. Wasn't that funny?
The main thing here is that I used Stampin' Up! Designer Papers, "Holiday Treasures". I was so curious on how it would come out to be but I was not disappointed. Note that i used one of the "Deer Friends" stamp (from the guy with the red suit)..hee. I also used the 5 petal punch for the poinsettias.
The bears and some of the flowers are made of mulberry paper. Feel free to click the picture in my blog and see it closely. Have a nice day!

Christmas Bear Card

OMG! I could not resist but deck this card with my tear bear. All I did was just add the peek a boo bear and added the scallop edge and Whoala! Thanks for making the card Raidis! I can't wait to have one of your Halloween Cards too. Yes, we'll be coming out with our Halloween items soon! So watch for it! (Note: The card itself was made with Stampin' Up! materials, and bear is made of mulberry paper). Btw, thank you for helping me on this Christine.

Apple Bears

Hi! I think I'm getting ready for Thanksgiving. It is the season for apples and it's one of my favorites. I just can't help making these bears where I used "Real Red", "Blushing Blossom" Stampin Up Cardstock glittered with SU's Dazzling Diamond glitters. For tips on how to glitter your items, click on the link on the right under My Blog List, "Simple Useful Tips and Techniques".

Apple Orchard

Happy Friday!!! How is your weekend going to be? Today, I'm sharing with you a first of it's kind 12x12 scrapbook page layout, where I used Stampin Up materials. I'm only going to show you a glimps of it. If you want to check it out, please email me shaintl@yahoo.com so I can post more pictures.

In this layout, I used the SU Summer Picnic set of design paper as well as the "More Mustard" textured paper for the tree trunk. The apples you see are die cuts from CriCut and the paper I used is "Real Red". I used Gross Grain ribbon and brads for the handles of the basket which I hand-weaved myself. I also used "Tempting Turquoise" for the bears dress. Well that's all the SU materials I used for this cute Apple Orchard layout! Have a nice weekend!

Pumpkin Bears

Hi, guys! Today, I'm sharing with you a bear set i've listed in ebay. Again, halloween is here soon and ideas of costumes are coming in quickly. If you have any idea of a halloween costume, you can email (shaintl@yahoo.com) or respond to this blog. If you'd like to see a particular costume in my bears, I can try making it and show them to you . Anyway, I used Stampin Up paper "Only Orange" on the pumpkin and glazed it with Stampin Glitter "Dazzling Diamonds". The leaves on top of the bears are made of "mullberry paper", which is also made with my bears. Anyway, I hope to hear from you soon.

Lollipop Bears

Happy Labor Day everybody! I know that everyone had a little something to celebrate the 3 day weekend. But of course, most of all, I bet you're all ready for the sending off your kids to school again. To all those who don't have kids in school yet, enjoy your babies while you still can hold them.

Here is a set of bear that I recently made for sale. It has been garnering popularity in ebay and I just wanted to share with you how cute this bears can be. I bought the lollipop from an ebayer and to my dismay, the seller sent it to me around 6 weeks after I paid for it. What a bummer. But the good thing about patience is, I got 2 packages of my lollipop in the mail.

The designed paper used on the skirts were paper scraps I had for over 10 years. I still keep a bunch of my scrap papers for future uses like this. The ribbons used were just given to me by my friend Mayda. She got a bulk of it, that could fill a small pillow case, for 25 cents. What a find! Thanks Mayda!

A Gift for Tia

My mom came to me and asked me to make a 12x12 premade scrapbook page for Tia, the granddaughter of her friend. The party is on Saturday and I just made sure it made it in time.

We bought a beautiful 12x12 white frame at Michaels, which was on sale at 40% off. What a deal and what timing.

I started with Stampin' Ups textured Papers - "Barely Banana" , "Pretty in Pink" and "Close to Cocoa" Then got some few Jolee's stickers and KC&Company flower stickers with a touch of my cute tear bear which is hand made and hand torn by myself. I used some Cricut die cuts for the lettering and used Stampin' Up Scallop Punches, that spelled "Tia is One" and also hand made the lovely 2 tier cake.

My mom wrote and dedicated at the back of the frame, "Memories to cherish for a lifetime".

You're wondering how we gift wrapped it. We didn't. We just tied a pretty white sheer ribbon and made a little tag made of Stampin Up "Close to Cocoa" and "Pretty in Pink" textured paper stamped with the SU "Sweet One" stamp from the set "So Many Scallops". And Whola!!!
