12 Tags of Christmas 2013 - Tag 12

Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas to ALL!!! Like everyone else, I was busy with holiday TO-DOs. As promised, my last tag here. Yes, a Santa owl tag. It's the cutest ever! To learn how to make the owl, click HERE.
To make the owl's feathered horn, use the piece cut on one side of the 2-1/2" circle owl body. The owl body was made cutting equally a 2-1/2" inch circle punch on 3 sides. To put hightlights on the owl's eye, use the Owl Punch (use the smallest circle)
I used the Build A Bear accessory BigShot Die (Santa Hat) , used the Windor Word Punch as the rim of the Santa Hat and used the Itty Bitty Punch Set (scallop) for the Santa Hat pom-pom.

12 Tags of Christmas 2013 - Tag 11

What more can I say. I made this tags by giving texture to 1-1/2" squares and using 2 different reds :)
I played around with the punch, Blossom Bouguet Triple Layer which I used on the bow of the actual gift image and the top handle of the tag. I also used the 3/4" square for the gift box image.
Use the Decorative Label punch to put extra dimension on your tag :)

12 Tags of Christmas 2013 - Tag 9

I told you! I love making owls :) But these can pass as any type of bird without the 2 pointy ears. Like Tag #8, the body of the owl is just a 2-1/2" Circle punch then cut straight on 3 sides.
Other PUNCH Used:
- Window Word Punch for the rim of the hat
- Modern Label punch for the scarf
- 1" circle Punch for the outer eye socket
- 3/4" Circle Punch for the white of the eye
- 1/2" circle punch for the inner eye
- Heart to Heart punch for the wings (use the 2 long heart adhere side by side as feathered wings)
- 1-3/4" Circle punch, used on the belly of the owl (after adhering the piece, cut off the remaining piece)
- 1-3/4" Circle punch, cut the piece in half and shape like a bonnet (use "Stripes" textured embossing folder to give texture to the bonnet)
- Itty Bitty Punch set (round one for the tip of the bonnet)
- cut a piece of triangle to use as the Owl's beak
Again, I used colored glitter paper.

12 Tags of Christmas 2013 - Tag 8

Who loves owls? I do! :) Big owls, small owls, look like owls, I love them all :) I was inspired to do this tag when I saw a cute Snow Owl. Hence... These owls are quite different from the other owls I made. I used the 2-1/2" Circle punch and cut 3 sides of the circle, leaving one side curve. Check out the tag.
Punch Used:
- 1" circle Punch for the outer eye
- 1/2" circle punch for the inner eye before using 3/8" Googly eyes
- 3/4" Square Punch and cut into 2 triangles for the ears
- Heart to Heart punch for the wings (use the 2 long heart adhere side by side as feathered wings)
- scallop edge border for the waves on the owl's breast
- cut a piece of triangle to use as the Owl's beak
Use glitter paper, it would look magical :) BTW, use 1 to 2 inches of eyelash ribbon to put in between the eyes of the owl. Use 2 strands. They look like feathers :)

12 Tags of Christmas 2013 - Tag 7

OK! This is such an easy tag to make, just as long as you have the BigShot Die, Petite Pocket #123131. You can actually fit a gift card in it! Isn't that great! Then you may call these Gift Card Tags (double purpose). All you have to do is decorate them.
What I did here was make cute tiny bows with the Small Oval Punch by curling them and glueing each together as illustrated. One bow was not enough so I made two. One on top of the other :) I used the Itty Bitty punch set (flower) to finish the bow on the center.
Remember to use 1" bows. They look so good as tree ornaments too :)
I used a stampin' up! set, "Bells and Boughs" #121731 with silver and gold heat embossing powder. TO EMBOSS, use Versamark ink with your stamp, then pour the embossing powder. Your image will show as soon as you invert your tag to clean excess powder. Then use Heat Tool #100005, to seal the powder.
At the back, use your piercing tool and a brad to make one fastener. The flap of your Pocket can easily hold into place. Just make sure that you position the fastener close to the flap.

12 Tags of Christmas 2013 - Tag 6

Hi! I got this idea from a Hallmark Ornament called New Home. It just gave me a great cozy feeling. Please note that the snowman on this tag is a snowman boarder that I cut individually. It's made of foam. You can always make or shape your own snowman using circle punch :)
First of all, you will need a 3" by 3" cardstock for the house. Then cut both corners on the top to make the shape of a roof.
PUNCH and DIES USED:
- Tasteful Trip BigShot Die for the snow on the roof top
- Jewelry Tag Punch for the windows of the house
- Scallop Oval Punch for the door
- Modern Label Punch for the Merry Christmas sign
I also use tinsel wire to make a wreath. Glitters are always a plus.

12 Tags of Christmas 2013 - Tag 5

Another tag as we go near Christmas Day :) Here are cuties that will grace your gifts with a smile :) Penguins have been one favorite character during the season. That's why I can't pass on the opportunity to create one. I hope you'll enjoy making them as I did :)
PUNCH USED:
- 2-1/2 inch circle punch for the penguin's body
- Large Oval punch for the penguin's belly
- Bird Builder punch (use the bird wings) for the penquin's wings
- Small Oval for the white eyes and feet of the penguin
- Owl Punch for the medium and large eye of the penguin (one is bigger than the other)
- Build A Bear accessory Bigz Die (retired die where I used the Santa hat, you can use pennant punch if you don't have the die)
- Window Word Punch for the hat's rim
OTHER PIECES:
- cut a small triangle for the beak
- Use pom pom for the had (it's always so cute on these hats)
- Use any embellishment like a snowflake or a bow.

12 Tags of Christmas 2013 - Tag 4

Our tags today are these cute snowman tags. It's one of the easiest ones I've made. Chilly as it is, these will definitely create a frosty feeling!
PUNCH USED:
- 1/4" square punch for the top hat
- small oval punch for hat rim
- snowflake punch for the stick hands
- 2-1/2" circle punch for the bottom part of the snowman
- 1-3/4" circle punch for the middle part of the snowman
- 1-1/4" circle punch for the snowman head
- used hand punch for the eyes and cut a piece of the scallop circle to make the nose.
Cut a 1/2" by 3" DSP piece, then cut in half. To make it look like a scarf, cut snippets on the ends. You may also use black glitter paper for the hat! Enjoy!

12 Tags of Christmas 2013 - Tag 3

Yes! It's 14 days until Christmas! Don't panic.... not until the 7th day before Christmas...hihi! We sold the last tag in the store today and what do we do??? Make some tags! Here's a set that you can enjoy!
I used my DSP (Designer Series Paper) from last Christmas. Cut 1-1/4" by 12" and score them 1/4 inch apart, alternately. If you are using a Scoring Pad, score your DSP at 1/2" apart from the 1/4" mark. Then invert the DSP and score again at 1/2" apart, this time from the 1/2" mark. After folding the scored DSP alternately (like an accordion), glue together the ends.
In a 1-1/2" circle punch piece, blop some glue on the center. Position your accordion DSP where the glued 1-1/2" circle piece would be on the center. Push the accordion DSP towards the center into the glue.
TO MAKE THE SANTA PUNCH ART:
Use the Pennant Punch for Santa's Hat;
Use the Scallop Circle Punch for Santa's Beard and Hair;
Use the 1-1/4" circle punch and cut in half to create Santa's Face;
Use the Cupcake Builder Punch (use the frosting part) to create part of Santa's beard;
Use the Owl Punch (use the Medium circle) to create Santa's nose;
To add on some pom pom on the top of Santa's Hat
You may also make other designs for the center of your tags. The gift with ribbon was made using 3/4" square punch and the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch on glitter paper. The Decorative Label punch is always helpful to add dimension to your tags :)
Finally, don't forget your ribbons! I used glue gun to adhere my DSP, Ribbons and Santa. Fast adhering!

12 Tags of Christmas 2013 - Tag 2

First of all, thank you so much for greeting me back here, my blog friends. Creations on Paper would not be what it is today without you guys.
As most of you know, my favorite tools would be punch and die cuts. I'm also thankful to Stampin' Up! that I can get them in one place. And I'm still continuing to do so!
Remember the Build-A-Bear BigShot Dies? Yes, you can still bring them out and play with them! Just get a cut of your Holiday ribbon and use your favorite caption stamps.. Viola!!! TAGS GALORE!!! BTW, I used the Pennant punch to get my glitter paper triangles and used my itty bitty punch again for the Santa Hat!!! The girly shoes you see here was also a Build-A-Bear accessory die that came separately.
So cute, huh!!! One of my rules during the holidays is use GLITTER! GLITTER! EVERYWHERE!!...
To My dear Carol Carriveau, you are always so sweet to me. I'm so lucky to have you as a friend :)

12 Tags of Christmas 2013 - Tag 1

Hello! It's beginning to look alot like Christmas!!! I'm feeling the spirit this year and here we go!!! Every year, my sister wishes for her Xmas Tags and parades them like designer tags. She's so funny! She would not even share them...hahaha. Anyway, she gives them away with her gifts every year and it's now a tradition. Her friends can't wait to see the designs every year.
Ok let's begin with these tags. I used different kinds of ribbons on them in different colors. They still look Christmasy :) The ribbons on these tags were made using 2 kinds of punch: Scallop Oval and Petite Pennants Builder. Just glue together the triangle Pennants on their ends and add on the curled Scallop Ovals to shape like bows. Isn't that neat!
To cover the center of the ribbon, I used the itty bitty punch (scallop circle shape). Punch out 3 pieces and glue them overlaping each other on the ribbon center.
Oh, I used the 2-1/2" Circle punch for the tag itself. You can use any Textured Expression Folder to give them dimension. I also used the Decorative Label Punch and the Glitter Paper is always elegant.

Post Christmas Card

Hi,everyone! Yikes, this is the 1st Holiday I've been in MIA (missing in action)!!! I just had so much going on in my life... Transition, Work, Personal issues, death in the family, adapting, coping, and acceptance!!! All this in one season... I think I need to divert. But before I can do that, I need to do it one baby step at a time. Time and Life, is what we all go through. There's always time for things in life... Time for compassion, Time for forgiveness, Time for acceptance, Time for Love.... etc.
Now I make Time for Creativity and Time for Sharing... Here's one you can cherish through out the season (what's left of it :) Maybe you can just change the hat of the owl :)
For the Santa Hat, I just used the Owl Punch and cut the owl in half and make the owl ears as the tip of Santa's Hat :) I also got some mini pom poms for the hat... doesn't it look sooooo cute!!! Always adds that extra touch when you go dimensional :)
Used the glitter paper which I sooo love! Just use the Window Word punch and cut the piece in half, then shape the edges. I'll always be using this paper forever and always.
Used Textured Embossing Folder where you may also use any kind.
I used a stamp set called "Merry Merry Messages" but I'm not sure if it's retired or not. Then I heat embossed the stamp image with Gold Embossing powder :) It took awhile if you are making alot of this cards, but it was fun making them :)
You can find a Polka Dot DSP anywhere these days... it's just darling to use them with a Santa Hat :) hihi.
BTW, I made these owls with my Tags this year and they look so AWESOME!!!!
Have fun making them :)

Happy Thanksgiving to All - A Lollie Tree

Happy Thanksgiving to all you talented and awesome crafters!!! Here's to another appreciation day for all you out there who inspired, created and shared. I'm thankful that I have you here who gives me the reason to keep on expressing my creativity. That alone is precious to me :)

Since the Simply Scored Scoring Tool #122334 came out, this project is just the easiest to do. I made this project last August, only now did I get to post it.. why?... ugh... let me count the reasons..... super di duper BUSY!!!!

Anyway, there are 9 lollies in this tree:(from the bottom)
One 1-3/4";
Two 1-1/2";
Two 1-1/4";
Two 1";
Two 3/4" lollies
then folded in 1/2" intervals.

I used 3 star punch for the tree topper, and glued them as a 3 sided star using silver glimmer paper.

Petal Cone - Santa Elf

I've been thinking of colors for this cute box and it didn't disappoint me. Here's a cute elf version! Just like my Santa Petal Cone, I used Glitter paper #121790, red this time.

I also discovered I had tons of small red buttons... voila!!! Very cute embellishment that sealed the design :) I believe buttons are the best dimension to use in any project :)

Many have asked me how I sealed these boxes.. just the plain four-side fold :) Have you seen those Petal card folds?... exactly like that :) You can seal them with a sticky strip if you have a heavy item in it. Just remember to fold the scores well so your box may stand perfectly.

Christmas 10-inch Wreath - Lollies

Whew, this was a great project but you'll really need to make time to make this project. Time to put things together, time to choose the color motif and designs to use in your wreath and time to put them together:)

For a 10" wreath, I used the cardboard base from the Glitter papers that came in. It's thick enough to make the base of the wreath. The tricky part is to get a disc out from it. I used my Circle Scissor Plus #112530, then set the dial to 6". This will cut the inner part of the wreath. TIP: If you are not able to cut the cardboard all through out with the Circle Scissor Plus blade, you may need to use a Box Cutter.

Measure 2 inches from the cut edge all around the circle to make a guide for the outer part of the wreath. Cut with your box cutter and use your Designer Sanding Block #124304 to smooth out the edges. Have fun making it:)
TIP: Good company and friends can help out. What a lovely way to spend time with love ones.

In the meantime, to make the lollies, there are many videos out there to learn from :) I'll let you know if I make my own tutorial. :)

Measurement of Lollies:
1-1/2" - Big Lollies (9 pieces)
1-1/4" - Medium Lollies (5 pieces)
1" - Small Lollies (3 pieces)
Lollies were scored at 1/4" apart using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

DSP:
- Holly Berry Bouquet #124004 (from Holiday Mini Catalogue)
- Jolly Holiday #117159 (retired)

Punch:
- Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer #122464
- Daily Triple Layer #122465
- Boho Blossom Punch #119858
- Scallop Circle Punch #119854
- 5-petal flower punch #119880

- 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon

Christmas Stocking- Penguin

Happy Halloween to all!!!... odd.. but today I'm posting something for Christmas. Scary, Scary... Merry :) Don't worry, I'm not confused... just busy frazzled. I apologize for the late post but I'm back again for more fun projects this holiday season:)

The new Holiday Stocking Die #124098, is so much fun! Not only can you use it for stockings, some use them as a head of a horse or a head of a reindeer :) These stockings can be made for holiday cards or as Gift Card Holders. Just cut 2 pieces of stocking die and emboss them (for back and front) and hot glue the edges, just enough for a gift card to fit from the top.

Much more traditional, here's one with my good old penguin punch art where I used the Owl Punch. Here's a closer look. Have fun making them :)

Supplies Used:
Punch:
- Owl Punch #118074 (for the penguin)
- 1" circle punch (for the hat and penguin wings)
- 3/4" circle purnch (for the penguin's face)
- Itty Bitty Punch Pack (flower - for the hat top)
- Scallop Oval Punch #119856 (for tags)
BigShot Tools:
- Holiday Stocking #124098

Altered Milk Carton Boxes - Holiday

Yep! You guessed right! A holiday version of the Altered Milk Carton Box. This time I used the Triple Layer punches to decorate these boxes. The Blossom Bouquet #122464 and the Doily Triple #122465. The triangle tree was made with the Petite Pennant Punch #122361 and embossed with Petals-A-Plenty Textured Embossing folder #116824.

The tags I used was from the set "Tags til Christmas" #121169-Clear and #120847-Wood. This set is so one of my favorites for the holiday. I used them last year for my tags and will be using them again this year :) Don't forget your baker's twine #123125 (Cherry Cobbler/White). The ribbons I used are the 5/8" satin ribbon. Works really well with these boxes. Just punch holes at the opening edges of these boxes then thread your ribbon.

Hmmmm.. what's next on these boxes... come check it out this week. To MAKE this boxes click HERE .
