So Proud of Chelsea

Today's share is obviously, non-Stampin UP! I just would like to congratulate my friend's daughter Chelsea for her new achievement! I'm just so proud of Chelsea who is like a niece to me. She's such a talented girl, I just can't resist but brag about her accomplishments. She plays the violin with her sister, she excels in school, she's a math olympiad who won so many math competition events, she's the president of her school council. On top of that she also knows Taekwondo! I think she's very close to becoming a black belt. Whew... for an 11 year old kid... that's alot of accomplishments. Oh, she's studying the Chinese language, too.

This time, her talent went national!!! Amazingly, she won 2nd place at the National Redvine Drawing Contest on the Tray and Jar Category. (You know that yummy licorice candy? I LOVE THOSE.)
Well, Chelsea's artwork will be featured in the tray and jar packaging of licorice candy in the middle of this year! Isn't that AWESOME! So watch out for her artwork pieces!!!

- The first one is a little girl sleeping on the moon shaped like a licorice

- The second one she won shows different nationalities with families lining up to buy the licorice from a big mobile candy truck.

You may find Chelsea's drawings in the Red Vine Website

Chelsea knows every single complimentary and contrasting colors. If you ever get a blank on a project because you can't decide what color to use, ask Chelsea!!! Her color combinations are just brilliant! She's a natural!

Valentine Mini Heart Box Class and More

Hello!!!! I'm back! Been really busy this week at the store and with my folks. I totally had to put Creations on Paper aside for a moment. Times like this makes it really hard for me to juggle. You know what I mean.... although I took a break, I still think of you. I've heard that some of you come to my site everyday to check, hoping that I would have something new or some new creations. I am touched with this and my feelings are mutual.
When I'm gone, away from blogging, my mind lingers toward it and plans for the next post. I also wake up in the morning and it calls me, however, I have to say... later.

Anywho... I'm here, again. This time I'd like to share with you my class this weekend. I met 2 new wonderful ladies, Patty and Phyllis. They reminded me of Thelma and Louise who are such friends that they continue catching up in their lives while doing the projects in the class. That was very entertaining for me!!! I loved how their friendship just went through my eyes and how comfortable they were. I just love these kinds of ladies who attend my classes :) Most importantly, we all had fun and mind you, alot of laughter!

Here were the 2 little note pads with pens as favors for them when they attended my class. I used the Hugs & Kisses Suite:

Here are also the items we made in class :) Aren't they cute!!!! I had to teach Phyllis how to make the Fancy Flower Punch - Rose! She did a great job on her first try!!! (rose in the middle).. cutie :) BTW, great idea with the leaf on the Mini Heart box, Phyllis! Patty's an expert crafter, need I say more... awesome craftmanship. She gave me tips too! Thanks, Patty W.!

2010 Holiday Faire Display Tips and More

On this post, I'd like to share with you how you can setup a head-turner display. Here are some tips on how to bring out the charisma of each paper craft made with SU! supplies. We all know how SU's Cardstocks are so vibrant and colorful. The only way to get a dramatic outcome is bringing out your best platters. Platters are a best way to make food delectable, why not use it with your paper craft or project displays. With the white platters, black was the contrast element. So I just bought some black disposable table covers and it did the job perfectly. You want to go for dramatic, go BLACK!!!

My first photo shows a 2-tier plate which I filled with Petite Square Boxes. Everyone looked with curiousity and had to open them. They were conversation pieces that Sold Out too! (I'm taking this picture a couple of hours before closing).

Here's my Santa matchboxes I sold last year and are sold out again! He lay nicely on my other 2-tier platter. Many of you asked for my Santa Box instructions! Here is my LINK to my instructions.
They're my projects last year. So check out other matchbox items I had for the Holidays! I have a reindeer matchbox, too!

Here's another tip to attract customers. Bring out those Hershey Kisses and spread them around the table. That's like honey to a bear :) We spread it around the plates and see how they would attract customers. It' free and a friendly gesture. I like the way the chocolate kisses blended with my tags :)

I also got those tins in bulk purchase in SU!'s Clearance Rack #124239. They come in a 5 pack. So hurry and get them. I think there is still time to order them. I gave this away with my own personalized ribbon for every $20 purchase. It's a cute promo gift with purchase. I make sure that I always provide a small token in my Craft Faire. Last year, I gave away plush toys. Anyway, something you want to think about on your next faire.

Here is another way to get curious lookers. Bundle your cards in a basket. Anything bundled like this attracts bargain lookers.

We all know that we need to price our items. It would be hard if you don't. It would be crazy to keep track of prices when you have 5 customers asking for them at the same time. So, here's the best and neat way to post them. I found this acrylic displays in Crate and Barrel store that closed in one of the malls. They were selling there display fixtures and this were sold at 50 cents each. I grabbed them and printed them out with the font Crate and Barrel used on there display.
It's "Arial Bold" font. I also put a description on how they can use my boxes. Ain't that neat! Looks so professional! You can also get them in your Office Supplies store.

BTW, don't forget your sign up sheets for your Workshops!!!

Last but not the least, here's our neighbor, Susan Hesse. Her booth beside us, was a knock out. She sold her jewelry with her daughter. I had promised that I would feature her in my blog if she featured me in hers..hihi. Anyway, our booths complimented each other. Her jewelry with our boxes would be a perfect holiday gift! Isn't that Great!

BTW, I stepped out for a moment from the faire and Raidis was asked to be photographed by the Local Newspaper. WOW!!! Our booth was one of the choosen displays to be featured in the Holiday Craft Faire article. Eeek, why did I have to step out on that moment.. geez. Anyway, I can't wait to see it in the news.

2010 Holiday Faire Success with Details- Part 2

Hi! As promised, here is part 2 of my Holiday Faire details. To start off, here's another cake, my Thanksgiving Cake. I wanted to go for a pie but I'm still doing the design for that. In the meantime, I can do with my pumpkin cake :) I decided to go for the Chocolate Chip brown flowers because I thought it would look good with Crumb Cake CS and the Pumpkin Pie CS. It did! The tough part was deciding what color the tag should be.I couldn't decide and I was running out of time. Well, Certainly Celery and Daffodil Delight came to mind. What do you think? Any suggestions?

Moving on to the next item, my Designer Tote Boxes! A sell out too. I made ones with Real Red, Early Espresso and Pumpkin Pie CS. As displays, I filled a couple with popcorn (butter, caramel and cheese flavors) in a plastic sac and tied 5/8" satin ribbons on them. You can also fill them with party mix. Just lovely! Great giveaway for the holidays.

Of course, my owl trims! I can't do away with the owl punch. They're my favorite. Here are ones dressed in Santa's Elves. Check out the tiny pom-poms..hihi. I placed this cuties on a cookie plate. They looked delectable. BTW, the owl vest were cut from the Jolly Holiday DSP #117159.

Another Owl punch art. This time with tags :) I discovered that I liked using the Clearlits die #118872 - Scallop Rectangle! Great for pictures too. You can actually see where you are cutting when you pass the die into the BigShot. p.211 (IBC)
I also used the Bells and Boughs Stamp set, my new favorite, #121142. Great for borders, I may say. Needless to say, I also used the Two Tags die #115954. So handy. You can make baskets with this die, tags, money holders.....etc.

I was hoping I could finish my share on this post, however, I have more tips for events and faire if you plan to have one. So visit me again tomorrow. I'll show you and give you pointers on how to setup a booth no one can resist to visit. Make your booth display head turners and make patrons come back for more.

2010 Holiday Faire Success with Details- Part 1

Hi! After a busy week putting together my inventory for this weekends faire, I'm so happy to let you know it was a SOLD OUT show! On the first day of the faire, I came in minutes before opening and there was a long line of patrons who were ready to fill the aisles and scoop the fresh bargains. Here's my star of the show, my Cake Slice Boxes!

My friend Raidis and I signed up on this faire months before and we are so lucky to be picked amongst talented artist who wanted a chance to show and sell there creations.

Here are a few of her creations which rocked the display:
Reindeer Candy Wrapper Boxes filled with Chocolate Kisses were a HIT!!!

Holiday Milk Carton Boxes also filled with Chocolate Kisses

Snowmen Triangle Boxes (her Santa Triangle boxes sold out even before I could take pictures). The bling she put on these boxes are real Swarovski Crystals that added that special touch to this art. They were SOLD OUT!!!

Holiday Fancy Favor Boxes/Baskets and Cards:

She also made Cake Slice Boxes. They're so gorgeous. Her favorite is the Pink and Brown color combo. She used the Fancy Flower punch on her flowers in a different way and it looks very pretty. Check out her other creations in her BLOG.

Well here was Part 1. Stay tuned tomorrow for Part 2 of my Holiday Faire Share. BTW, I would like to thank all of you who visited our booth and signed up for a Workshop!
