Smudgefest Day 7!

Hello!  So, I missed Day 6, unfortunately.  Some unforeseen circumstances came up and I didn’t end up having time to make something for yesterday.  Ah well.  But I decided to join in last minute for this final day of Smudgefest.Winking smile

Smudgefest Day 7 – Synonymous Sunday

The challenge today is to make a project using the image provided by Smeared Ink.

Smudgefest Day 5!

Hi there!  I’m back for another day.

Smudgefest Day 5 – Flight of Fancy

The challenge today is to create a project that features wings.

I chose to use one of my favorite sets for this.  The stamps are from the Heart Wings set from Smeared Ink’s Rubber Club.

I made a simple chunky page.

I’m getting my project done early today because I’m off to Stampaway in a little bit!

Smudgefest Day 4!

Hello!

Smudgefest Day 4 – Toil and Trouble

For today’s challenge you have to pick at least three of the listed items and use them on your project.

I chose to use Stencil, Black, Cardboard, and Metal.

My stamp is from Smeared Ink’s Rubber Club.

I used a recycled piece of corrugated cardboard to make an art journal page.  I used a branch stencil for the background, but my ink was clogged, so it didn’t work perfectly.

Smudgefest Day 3!

Hello!  I’m back for day 3!

Smudgefest Day 3 – Wicked Wednesday

Today’s challenge is a photo challenge.  You must make a project that is inspired by the photo that is posted on the blog.

I was inspired by the patterns and colors of the peacock’s feathers.

My image is Mermaid – Carnies from Smeared Ink.  It’s hard to tell in the photos, but all of the paints I used are shimmery.

Smudgefest Day 2!

Hello!  I’m back again with another project for Smudgefest!

Smudgefest Day 2 – Terrifying Tuesday

For today’s challenge you have to use your favorite scary image on a project.  There are many creepy images that I like, so I decided to use two images on my ATC.  Both images are by Rick St. Dennis from Smeared Ink’s Rubber Club.

Thanks for looking!  Hopefully I’ll have another project for tomorrow!

Smudgefest Day 1!

Hello!  Today kicks off the annual event of Smudgefest!  Yay!  This is the yearly week-long event from Smeared Ink, where you have the chance to play along with a new challenge each day.  It’s loads of fun!(And there are great prizes to be had, too!)

The challenge for Smudgefest Day 1 is Mixed Media Monday.  You must use three different types of coloring mediums on your project.

I have used Copic markers, Distress Ink, and watercolor crayons on my journal page.  My stamp is from Smeared Ink, from the Candy is Dandy set.

Smudgefest Day 6!

Today is Day 6 of Smudgefest!  Whoa!  I can’t believe I made it in time today.  I’ve been away at a stamping convention last night and all day today, so I had to try to throw a project together tonight.  Today’s challenge is “Sketchy Saturday”…a sketch challenge(as the name would imply).

I used a digi stamp from Smeared Ink on my card.(I really like this circus set)

DSCN0945v2

It’s a little off, but I think you can tell I was trying to follow the sketch.(at least I hope so)

I had a lot of fun this weekend.  I got to meet a couple of friends from one of the online crafting groups I’m in, which was really cool.  And I got to meet Dyan Reaveley.  She was extremely nice and a lot of fun to watch.

Here’s a picture of us.

Smudgefest Day 5!

Hurray!  I got a project made early in the day!  For Smudgefest Day 5 the challenge is…

“FLOWING FRIDAY

Create a project using a flowing medium. Some examples could be watercolor, liquid ink, liquid glues, thinned out acrylics, etc.... use your imagination and let the juices flow!”

Now, that’s my kind of challenge!

I used a 4”x5” canvas for my project.  I used soft body, and liquid acrylics to paint the base, then I used watered down acrylics for the dripping.  I used a rubber stamp from Smeared Ink.(It’s no longer available in rubber, but you can still purchase the digi set)  I also added a small chipboard frame and some Tim Holtz stickers.

Smudgefest Day 4!

I’m back!  Running a bit behind, but I’m here.  For Day 4 of Smudgefest here’s the challenge…

“TWISTED THURSDAY

Make an ATC with a "twist". You can interpret "twist" any way you want to, this is just one interpretation. ATC size: 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" “

I used several rubber stamps from Smeared Ink – See the Smeared Ink Rubber Club.  And the broken heart stamp is one that I carved myself.

The “twist” is that there is no end to this ATC.  It’s a never ending ATC.  And barbwire is twisted, too.Winking smile

Smudgefest Day 3!

Hello!  I was a little worried I wouldn’t get a project done today.  I have come down with a whopper of a head cold.  Yay!(not so much) Anyway, Day 3 of Smudgefest is a color challenge.

I used a digi from Smeared Ink on my card.  I did something different.  I digitally colored the image, then printed it out and added a little shadow with markers.  I kept the card simple.

Smudgefest Day 2!

Hello!  Day 2 of Smudgefest has the following challenge:

“TERRIFYING TUESDAY

Create a project that showcases your favorite scary Smeared Ink image. Go ahead, pull out all the stops and give us the willies!”

I used three images from the Circus Procession digi set from Smeared Ink, and a rubber stamp from the Morte set that Rick St. Dennis did for the Smeared Ink Rubber Club.

It’s a 5.5” square card.

The clown is mounted on a wobble, so it looks even creepier when it is in motion…

I’d also like to enter this into the current regular challenge at Smudgy Antics, which is to use fussy cutting.  I fussy cut the clown and the banner.

Thanks for looking!  Hopefully I’ll see you again tomorrow!

Smudgefest Day 1!

Today is the first day of Smudgefest!  It’s a really awesome weeklong series of challenges on the Smudgy Antics blog.  Today’s challenge is “Manic Monday – Create a bi-polar project that showcases two opposites.”

Here’s what I came up with, using one of my older rubber sets from Smeared Ink.

DSCN0881v2

DSCN0879v2

I chose to go with fire and water, and blue and orange as my opposites.

And then my daughter decided that she had to play too, so here is her project, using images from Smeared Ink.

DSCN0885v2

She chose day and night as her opposites.

Thanks for looking!  Hopefully I’ll be back tomorrow with some more creations for you!

Whew!  Six days down, one more to go!!  Today’s challenge is Saturday’s Song.  And the song was a great one!  The challenge is to make an ATC inspired by Blackbird(the super awesome Beatles song).

SmudgeFest Day 5

Hello!  I am back again!  Today’s challenge is Freebie Friday.  We were given a super cool freebie to use on our projects today.

I made a sign for my daughter’s bedroom.  I also used the tree digi from the Owlets Digi Set from Smeared Ink.  And some letter stamps from The Paper Studio.

And hanging in her room.

SmudgeFest Day 4

Yes!  I’m so happy that I’ve been able to play along every day so far!  Today’s challenge is Thursday Throwdown.  It’s a color challenge.  Here are the colors you have to use, well at least use 3 of them…

I used these colors to decorate a cheery little coffin.  And I promise that the blue looks lighter/brighter in person.*grumble* stupid camera *grumble*

100_6999

The sharpies weren’t the best idea for coloring on top of gesso.  Ah well.

100_7001

I used my sharpies to color some plain white ribbon for the sides.

I used the Rose Coffin stamp from the Candy is Dandy set from Smeared Ink.  It’s one of my favorite stamps.

Thanks for looking!  I’m excited to see what challenge tomorrow holds!

SmudgeFest Day 3

Woot!  I’m back with a project for day 3!  Today’s challenge is Wordy Wednesday, to only use words(no images) for your project.

I actually had a lot of fun with this one.  I used word stamps from the Li’l Grumpies set from Smeared Ink to make this canvas.(along with some acrylic paint)

I’m calling this one “A Cry for Affection”, it’s like a little conversation going back and forth.Winking smile  Just imagine a little sweet sad face at the end, hee hee.

100_6994

(so you can see how little it is)

Thanks for looking!  Hoping I can play along again tomorrow!

SmudgeFest Day 2

Yay!  I’m back for day 2!  Today’s challenge is Trashy Tuesday, to create a project by upcycling some of your trash.

So, I decorated an empty(and cleaned out) sweetened condensed milk can.  But it gets better because I used trash to decorate it, too.Winking smile  I stamped on to some packing paper and some thin cardboard packaging and put them around the can.

I used the Candy is Dandy set from Smeared Ink.(only I used the rubber stamps)
