January S&S AJED Prompt

Hello!  I’m here today to show you the page that I created to go along with Julia’s art journal prompt for this month within the Smeared and Smudged FB group.  If you haven’t become a member yet, please do.  We would love to have you playing along with our challenges and prompts.

Julia’s prompt this month is SKULLS.

Here’s the page that I made, using one of Rick St. Dennis’ rubber stamp designs from Smeared Ink.  This stamp is from the Morte set.

The words are from “La Vie en Rose”.  My grandmother is from France and she used to sing this song to me.

Journal Pages for Smeared and Smudged

Hello!  I just wanted to share a couple of journal pages I’ve made to go along with some of the prompts and techniques that my fellow Art Journal Every Day DT members have come up with over at Smeared and Smudged.

Tori had posted the prompt of Music Notes, so I came up with this page…

DSCN1433v2

The colors are truer to life in the following picture, but the metallic paint was giving me issues…

DSCN1434v2

I used the Poe stamp from the Quoth the Raven set from the Smeared Ink Rubber Club.

Susan posted a prompt and technique that was called “Save it”, and this is the page I created for that…

DSCN1429v2

I used a stamp from the Haunted Places 1 set done by Rick St. Dennis for the Smeared Ink Rubber Club.

If you’re curious about what the techniques or prompts involve, then I encourage you to head on over to the Smeared and Smudged forum to see what we’re up to in the Art Journal Every Day group.  The forum is free and friendly, and full of helpful info!

Thanks for looking!  Tomorrow I will be posting a new prompt and technique over at Smeared and Smudged!

Musically Challenged #11!

Hello!  Today began a new challenge for us at Musically Challenged.  This time around we are drawing our inspiration from Ozzy’s Bark at the Moon.  This video really had a lot of visual inspiration for me.  At one point you see an old fashioned hearse in the video, so that’s what inspired this ATC that I made.

Our sponsor this time around is the fabulous Smeared Ink.  The death cab is a digi from their store, and the background stamp is from the Smeared Ink Rubber Club.  It’s one of the awesome stamps designed by Rick St. Dennis.

Smudgefest Day 2!

Hello!  Day 2 of Smudgefest has the following challenge:

“TERRIFYING TUESDAY

Create a project that showcases your favorite scary Smeared Ink image. Go ahead, pull out all the stops and give us the willies!”

I used three images from the Circus Procession digi set from Smeared Ink, and a rubber stamp from the Morte set that Rick St. Dennis did for the Smeared Ink Rubber Club.

It’s a 5.5” square card.

The clown is mounted on a wobble, so it looks even creepier when it is in motion…

I’d also like to enter this into the current regular challenge at Smudgy Antics, which is to use fussy cutting.  I fussy cut the clown and the banner.

Thanks for looking!  Hopefully I’ll see you again tomorrow!

The Green Fairy

Hello!  Only a few more days left to enter our current Romeo & Juliet vs. Moulin Rouge challenge.  Here’s a card I made using a beautiful image from Rick St. Dennis.  It reminded me of the green fairy.  I always loved that part of Moulin Rouge when they drank the absinthe.Smile

Airless Chambers June Freebie Challenge

The June Freebie on Airless Chambers is such a fun image from Rick St. Dennis.  So I just had to play along with the challenge, which is “Anything But Square and no sharp corners”.

I made a heart-shaped card…now I don’t consider the point at the bottom of the heart a “sharp corner”, so hopefully they won’t consider it one either.Winking smile

For whatever reason, when I saw this guy a song started going through my head, so I just went with it.

Speak “Friend” and Enter

Hello!  I’m here today with a reminder post about our current challenge at Movie Magic Monthly, which is Lord of the Rings vs. Harry Potter.  I have a new project to show you that contains two gorgeous new images from the incredibly talented Rick St. Dennis.

I made a door hanger/sign that uses a quote from the movie and book of Lord of the Rings.  The background of the sign was made by using some modeling paste, and then applying some sparkly and metallic acrylic paints.

And in use…

Aren’t they amazing images?  You can find Galadriel here, and Gandalf here.  Be sure to check out some of the other awesome images while you’re there.

Also, be sure to stop by the Movie Magic Monthly blog to see more creations using these images.
