Detox - Demo

Detox is a female fronted band from Beirut / Lebanon. They are the first punk band in that country, formed in '05 under a different name and a slightly different line up. They sing about toxication, the streets of Hamra, cops, militias and the wars, especially the war in '06 between israel and lebanon. Basically they sing about everything that's just the opposite of Detox. Heavily influenced by bands like; Discharge, Motörhead, GBH, The Anti-Nowhere League, The Plasmatics. They were going to play a show in İstanbul in ResistFest, but some legal issues caused shit and we couldn't meet them, maybe next time. Till then, Sing along to Motörhead!

Bad Brains - Legends From The End Of Time

The band is from france and has no similarity with the american band. This mini LP is released in '83 and they play early pop punk, similar to bands like Buzzcocks, 999 and Ramones. They especially sound like the naive pop punk songs of Ramones. We usually don't post that kinda stuff in the blog but i guess this band deserves respect. If you like to relax on a hot summer day this can be a good alternative.

Eskorbuto - Eskizofrenia

Eskorbuto is a 77 style anarcho punk rock band from Basque Country / Spain. They were active between '80 - '98. They are one of the first bands to play punk rock with spanish lyrics. Eskorbuto means "scurvy" in english. Their lyrics are mostly socio-politic and about the conflict between basque and spain, they criticize both sides. "Rock does not have a mother country, not even the Basque". Two of the members died of heroin. Those fuckin junkies made great music, even though i hate junkies.

Vicious Irene - Takin The Night Back

Vicious Irene is an all girl punk rock band from sweden. They play raw yet melodic punk rock with rock'n'roll and d-beat influences. This is the 3rd release of the band which is released in '04. They released another album in '06 after that one. And i think they will release another one in upcoming summer. You can buy their releases from their website for a fair price.

Rai Ko Ris is a hardcore punk band from Nepal. Yes. And i'm too lazy to write down about them now. And i know you are all lazy bums too, so i'll give you a link to read about the band. And a download link for sure. Sounds fair enough.

Margo Tea Company

Margo Tea Company is a punk rock band from Istanbul. Formed in 2004. The members of the band are also football fans, especially their song "Pig In The Middle" is dedicated to football. And when i mean football, i mean FOOTball, not the game that big american dudes running around in tight pants. They sound a bit like Against Me! actually, and they admit that it is their biggest influence.

Disidencia - La Solución Esta En Tus Manos

Disidencia is an anarchist punk rock band from Spain. The cover art is great, the music is great. Some rock, ska, angry hardcore punk, soothing melodic punk rock, anarcho punk, almost everything you can ask for is in it. But not in a boring and disturbing way. It's a good blend of genres. This album is released in '97 and it's the second release of the band. They have 7 or 8 official releases and the last one is an anthology cd released in '08. I don't know much about the band. Genöcide - Submit To Genöcide

These drunk metal punks are from New Jersey, they are formed in '79 and this is their one and only LP, besides that they have two demos and a split with Mia. This LP is released in '87 and i think it is one of the roots of all that "drunk thrash punk" music with great rock'n'roll influences.
Recommended for old school metal punks!
