Graffiti 3X - Esto No Es Un Juego (1998)

This is cult Mexican anarcho punk/hardcore band from Ciudad de México city that was formed in 1994. They play fast, agressive and melodic hardcore by combining punk, surf, hardcore and ska elements. Lyrics are based on topics like problems of lower class, worker rights and refugee problems. Band has released seven albums till now. "Esto No Es Un Juego" (In English: "This Is Not Game") is third record in their discography. Yeah, they believe graffiti is a street art so they gave this name. Vocalist Roberto Wong liked the cartoons and watched as he left the XXX liquor bottle, the 3X is a childhood memory for him.

If you are interested in political punk from anywhere in the world, this is one of the cd's you are going to love.

Czolgosz is an anarchist hardcore punk band from Boston. They take their name from the anarchist assassin Leon Czolgosz. They sing about the Boston scene, the cops, Lukashenko and politics in that split. Their lyrics are also great. Critica Radicala is an anarcho gypsy punk band from Romania. Their music isn't fast and aggressive but their lyrics are. Their music is dark. All their lyrics are in Romanian but english translations are included in the booklet, which i didn't scan because i don't have a scanner. They sing about wars, mass media, politics and chocolate in that cd. This cd is released in '04, and both bands are great.

Skarpretter is a diy anarcho punk band from Denmark. They are formed by members of Gorilla Angreb, Paragraf 119, Nuclear Death Terror, etc. And they are formed in Ungdomshuset squat. Their music is catchy, raw and angry and the lyrics are smart and straight to your face. Bagna is a raw crust band from Belarus, i don't know much about the band. Their music is dark and rageful, and they sing a cover version of Too Drunk To Fuck in their own language.

This is an anarchist hc punk band from Ljubljana / Slovenia. There are some crust/metal/thrashcore influences in their music. Their music is fast with lyrics against nato, fascism, authorities, and similar stuff. Na Ruševinah Kapitalizma (On the ruins of capitalism) is their second album and it's released in '00.

Eskorbuto - Eskizofrenia

Eskorbuto is a 77 style anarcho punk rock band from Basque Country / Spain. They were active between '80 - '98. They are one of the first bands to play punk rock with spanish lyrics. Eskorbuto means "scurvy" in english. Their lyrics are mostly socio-politic and about the conflict between basque and spain, they criticize both sides. "Rock does not have a mother country, not even the Basque". Two of the members died of heroin. Those fuckin junkies made great music, even though i hate junkies.

They are more than just a music band, since their start in '91, they have been involved in a variety of campaigns to organize people to engage in political protests. They also are often involved with putting on benefits and raising money for political prisoners and causes. This release includes 1st & 2nd Ep on Cd and studio songs from their old demo.

Disidencia - La Solución Esta En Tus Manos

Disidencia is an anarchist punk rock band from Spain. The cover art is great, the music is great. Some rock, ska, angry hardcore punk, soothing melodic punk rock, anarcho punk, almost everything you can ask for is in it. But not in a boring and disturbing way. It's a good blend of genres. This album is released in '97 and it's the second release of the band. They have 7 or 8 official releases and the last one is an anthology cd released in '08. I don't know much about the band. Spinners - Dig The Hole Forget The Sun

Spinners is the first all-female punk band in Turkey, founded in '88. in Ankara. This demo tape is released in '91. Their song "La la la" is also in the "Sevdasız Hayat Ölümdür 7" which is released in '94 by "tian an men" records and includes some turkish bands like Radical Noise, Necrosis, Headbangers, S.A.D., etc.. Spinners' music can be described as lo-fi anarcho punk. There is also a cover version The Exploited song Maggie. And one last thing, all the songs in this demo tape are also released on a split cd with the american punk band X Possibles.
