Guide Us to Thy Perfect Light-PPA324

Oct.30, 2016

Today, I am playing along with the Pals Paper Arts Challenge for the last time.  They have decided to close their weekly challenge.  I must admit, I was very sad to read this news.  I have played along many times in the last few years, but I think the saddest part for me is that I am going to miss  the inspiration I have gained from all of their very talented team members!  This fabulous sketch is from Ginger.

My card is created on a white card base.  Night of Navy card stock was attached for the first layer.  I trimmed white card stock for the top panel to match the sketch.  I stamped the lovely sentiment in Night of Navy ink.  The stamp set, sentiment and dies from the Stampin' Up! Star of Light Bundle set.  I stamped the flourish on the panel using my Misti.  Silver embossed stars were added also stars cut in silver glimmer paper.  I used glue dots to attach these.  I used the dies to cut the large stars in silver glimmer paper and Night of Navy.  Stampin' Dimensionals were added for lift.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  I appreciate you taking time to visit!

THANK YOU--Pals Paper Arts Team Members for all the wonderful, creative inspiration that you have provided the stamping community!  You WILL be missed!

Thinking Of You!--PPA322

October 17, 2016

I had a very busy weekend and wanted to play along with a few challenges.  I finally found a few minutes today to work on a card for the multi talented Susan Itell's sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts.  My brother-in-law just had knee replacement surgery.  I wanted to send him a card to let him know we were thinking of him.  This sketch was just perfect for what I wanted to create.  Thanks, Susan!

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a piece of paper that I found in my stash and trimmed it using the SugarPea Designs Stitched Rectangle dies.  I added four strips of black paper cut in 1/2" pieces for the stripes.  A white circle was cut using the SugarPea Designs Stitched Circle Dies.  I stamped the monkey from SugarPea Designs Caring Critters Stamp Set .  I thought he looked like he was hanging in there and that is just what you do the first few weeks after knee replacement.

THANK YOU very much for stopping by my blog today!  If you have a chance please leave a comment.  I always love to hear from you!

The Lord's Work of Art-- PPA321

October 8, 2016

Today was absolutely GORGEOUS in Georgia.  I am very thankful that my FL  and coastal GA friends were spared any serious damage from Hurricane Matthew.

As we were driving to see our GRANDS, I thought about how Fall is one of God's greater works of art.

My niece was visiting NH today and send this picture.  It inspired me to make a card when I got home.

I am playing along with the Pals Paper Arts color challenge.  I love these dark, vibrant shades. Cajun Craze is one of my favorite colors.  I know that probably seems strange to most of you.  I don't think it is go to shade for most people.

My card is created on a Very Vanilla base.  The next layer is Elegant Eggplant.  The Very Vanilla layer is cut using a stitched rectangle die.  I stamped the three colors, Cajun Craze, Elegant Eggplant and Crushed Curry leaves using a retired SU stamp "For All Things."  I love this set because it gives a watercolored, muted look when stamped.  I cut a rectangle of Crushed Curry for grounding my easel.  The easel is stamped in Crushed Curry from the SU stamp set, "Painter's Palette."  I fussy cut the easel and the stamped the words "work of art" from this set.  I used an Elegant Eggplant marker and colored and huffed on the stamp.  I found the words "the lord's on a set in my stash and added at the top.  Linen thread was tied around the easel and two enamel dots were added to complete my card.

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog today!  I always love to hear from you so, please leave a comment!

Thankful For You--cQc #361--PPA320--JUG #362

September 29, 2016

I had time to play in the "tepee" today.  I love Fall and received a new stamp from Stamping Bella.  It was perfect for three challenges.  That never happens to me.

The color palette at Colour Q made me smile!  I love Tempting Turquoise.  One of my all time favorite colors.

Dawn's fantastic sketch Pals Paper Arts was perfect to showcase Fay.

Just Us Girls Challenge is all about Fall.  Check out all these challenges for lots of inspiration!

My card is created on a white card base.  The next layers is a piece of retired paper from Stampin' Up!  The stamp set is from Stamping Bella Fay Loves Fall.  I stamped Fay on Neenah Solar White paper and stamped the image in Momento Rich Mocha ink.  I colored her with Copic Markers.  I really am happy with the results.  Linen Thread, Wink of Stella and candy dots were added to complete my card.

THANKS SO MUCH for stopping by!

Let's Celebrate! PPA 292

March 17, 2016

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of you!  Irish or Not, it is always fun to celebrate!

I finally had a chance to play along with a challenge today!  My card is for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge.  I just loved Beth's sketch this week and it was perfect for a card I wanted to make for a very dear friend that is turning 70 this week.  We are flying to Chicago tomorrow for her surprise party!  It will be so much fun!  Can't wait to see the look on her face!

My card is created using a Melon Mambo base.  The next layer is Whisper White.  The pink and gold foil is from my stash.  I used gold foil for my strip across the center and a white and gold banner was cut using an My Favorite Things --FIshtail Flags die.  The large peony is from The Ton Stamps stamps.  I stamped it on watercolor paper with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.  I watercolored the peony with Peerless watercolors.  I stamped the leaves on watercolor paper, heat embossed them in gold powder and colored them with Zig markers.  The sentiment is from SSS-Birthday Bits stamp set.  It is stamped in Versa Mark and heat embossed in gold, too.  I added some Wink of Stella on the peony for extra shine!

SO happy you stopped by my blog today!  I hope you will leave a comment and let me know your thoughts!  I love to hear from you!

May the Luck of the Irish Be With You!

You've Got The Write Stuff--PPA261

July 24, 2015

I guess "Old Teachers" never die.  I am on a roll with Teacher cards.  I had an idea pop into my head when I saw this sketch at the Pals Paper Arts Challenge!  I hurried into my craft room and got to work.

My base card is black card stock.  The rest of the layers are created with the Simple Stories-Smarty Pants 6 X 6 paper pack. I cut black circle frames  I cut orange circles from the patterned papers to line the circle frames.  The pencils were created by stamping them with Momento black ink and coloring them with Copic Markers.  I fussy cut them and mounted them with foam tape for dimension.

I stamped the sentiment with black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  The stamp set is from SugarPea Designs, "Teacher's Pet."  Both the sentiment and pencils are from this set.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

Until next time!
