Have A Novel Birthday ---Fusion Challenge

January 29, 2018

I just realized that I made this card almost two weeks ago and forgot to enter it in the Fusion Card Challenge!  Have you ever done that?  I am just sliding in under the wire.

I was inspired by the sketch, but the inspiration photo is fabulous!  Coffee and reading--two of my favorites!  I also gave me the opportunity to make a birthday card for my BFF from college and use a stamp set that I adore!  I realize a lot of others used this same set, but it is perfect for this inspiration!

The brown texture of the blanket inspired my background.  It is hard to see in the photo, but the brown paper has a lot of texture in in.  This little girl is colored with Copic Markers.  I gave her a stack of book, coffee and  flowers.  The background is stenciled with distress inks.  Lots of Wink of Stella was added for shine! The stamps set is from MFT Our Story and the matching dies were used to cut out all of the pieces.

SO happy you stopped by my blog today!  Have a great week!

A Thankful Heart-- Fusion Challenge Time Out Challenge #100

January 5, 2017

I hope your New Year is off to a great start!  I took a few weeks off and enjoyed my family and friends and now, I am back in the tepee.  My crafty goal this year is to enter more challenges.  I have not had much time to play with all the wonderful challenges out there so, I hope to change that in 2018!

I am entering my card in the Fusion Card Challenge.  Happy Fourth Anniversary to the Design Team.  I am also entering the Time Out Challenge.  I just found their site and I am excited to add this site to my list.

I created "Fusion" by using the sketch and the colors/woodgrain in the inspiration photo.  I also used "Thankful" in my sentiment for the Time Out Challenge.  Perfect time for all those "thank you" cards I need to write.

Products Used:
Stamps:  Hero Arts Jan. 2017 stamp kit and Dies
Paper:  Wood grain and scraps in my pile
Ink:  Versa Fine Vintage Sepia
Dies:  SugarPea Designs Stitched Circles
Accessories:  Enamel Dots, Wink of Stella

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  I also want to add a personal note on my blog in 2018.

I rang in the New Year with my Dear Friend.  She is the most amazing person and she can prepare the most fabulous food you could ever eat!  THANK YOU, Rox!  I love you! #bestnewyearseveever

Congrats On Your New Home FUSION

November 10, 2017

I finally had a few minutes to myself and wanted to play along with the Fusion Card Challenge.

The sketch was just perfect for a card that I wanted to create for my SIL and BIL's new home.

I took the liberty of turning the sketch on the side.

My card is created on a white card base.  I used distress inks to create the background.  The new home sign is from Neat and Tangled stamps--Welcome Home.  I stamped and colored it with Copic Markers and used the matching dies to cut it out.  The leaves were stamped using the SugarPea Designs Lovely Leaves and the matching dies.  The pumpkins are from a retired Stampin' Up! set Fall Fest and the dies.  Wink of Stella was added for shine on the leaves and leaves.

I hope this will make them smile as they are getting settled in their new home.  Just in time for Thanksgiving!

Have a fantastic weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

It Takes Big Heart To Shape Little Minds-Fusion Card Challenge

September 14, 2016

I finally had a day to play in my "tepee"!  I have had non-stop company and today is the only day I have to be alone and create.

I am playing along with Fusion Card Challenge this week.  I just loved this sketch and the colors were amazing.  I am attending "Grandparents" Day this Friday at my "GRAND" daughters' school and I wanted to take their teachers a little gift. I made this card for one of them.

My card is created on a white card base.  I cut another white layer using the Avery Elle-Dotted Elle-ments Dies.  I also cut a black flag and white flag using the same dies.  The lime green strip was cut using the MFT Blueprints 15 die.  The apple is from Reverse Confetti-All Apples stamped is Lucky Limeade ink.  Black ink was used on the leaves. I used the matching die to cut them out.  A few enamel dots were added for fun!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day!
