Sweet Bunny Birthday Card with Cheryl Walker

2:30 AM 1 Comments

Hello everyone, and Happy Friday to all!!
Today's card was designed for Cheery Lynn Design using the beautiful dies from Cheery Lynn Designs . I wanted my card to have a Spring feel, and this delivers just that :) It was also created for Really Reasonable Ribbons Challenge this week, to create a Birthday, wedding, baby, or some kind of occasion card. Mine is a Birthday & Spring! hehehe
On my card I used lots of darling dies from Cheery Lynn, and I am loving them all on this one!!! I also used The Project Bin sentiment stamp from the set called "Born Yesterday" this set is all about Birthdays!

Cheery Lynn Dies Used:
B527 Bunnies( brown polka dot) I also added a bow, flower, and viva pearl pen to this cutie
B682 Quadrafoil Tag , cut using the Pink hearts design paper.
LPC4 Circle Pierce set cut out brown card stock, and tree dp from Pebbles
DL280 Royal Scandinavian Doily, cut out in white card stock and layered on card front
B180 Princess Tree , cut out in green card stock, and matching design paper, and layered. I also added some flowers , and branches to this one.
B216 Wreath Strip used as branches under the tree for a filler

I absolutely LOVE the way this card turned out. I love all the layers and colors, it's perfect for a spring birthday!

The tree was super fun to work with, and I will have to do another of this one soon! I love the wreath strip pieces behind it, as it gives some dimension and fills in. I added the little hearts in the design paper, I thought it would be cute. I lastly added some flower embellishments to this!

My Big Bow was created using Really Reasonable Ribbons February Ribbon monthly kit. I also used some RRR for the bunny bow. LOVE how cute this bunny is! All embellishments are also from RRR.

Sewing was done using a very light pink thread and my sewing machine.

I hope you enjoyed my post for today! Please leave a comment letting me know what you think, I truly enjoy reading them!

Hugs to all,
Cheryl

Under the Sea by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi Everyone, it's JULIE here today and I am sharing with you an underwater themed card which would also look great on a scrapbook layout.

On the edge of my card I tattered my second layer with the edge of my scissors. Next I pressed the edge into my Versamark ink pad and heat set some Gold Embossing powder. My word Explore was also heat embossed in gold.

I used a mixture of foliage on the list below to give the look of Seaweed and Coral at the bottom of the sea. On my Princess Tree die I added a little Distress Stickles. My Starfish was shaded with ink and highlighted with a Fineliner pen, as was my Sand Dollar.

My Anchor was shaded with Copics, heat setting a little Distress Powder and a Patina powder for an aged rusty Look.

The detail on the Seahorse dies is incredible. I cut them out in patterned paper adding a little Stickles and Black Liquid Pearls to their eyes.I moulded the shape of them with my fingers for a curved look and mounted onto my card with Silicone Glue.

Finishing off with an accent from the Ships Compass

My wave edger, small shells and pearls.

We are having a blog hop tomorrow to showcase a wonderful New Release from Cheery Lynn Designs, there are so many new dies on my wish list !
So please stop by and you could be in with the chance of winning a shopping spree.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Our Current Challenge is Red, White and Blue. I hope you get a chance to join in the fun to win a $20 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn.

Nature Themed Dies with Rhonda

3:30 AM 7 Comments
Greetings and happy Thursday to you! It's Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

For today's project I mixed a few of our nature themed dies (Happy Halloween Twiggy Wreath, Cattails and Reeds and Quill and Ink Pot) together with our pretty Lilith Edger and Dutch Daisy boutique stacker frames to mix things up a little bit. I think it takes on a soft and romantic feel.

I started with a base white A2 cardstock background, then added the Dutch Daisy Boutique Stacker Frame to it. Next, I cut a Cardmaker's Rectangle Scalloped, then used the Lilith Doily Edger on one side. Next, I cut the Happy Halloween Twiggy Wreath and the Horizon Fishtail Banners.

The medium Horizon Fishtail Banner is a bit long for the card, so I cut a little bit from the middle and adhered behind my pink Scalloped Rectangle and Edger cut layer. I cut the Coved Rectangle and adhered behind the pink Scalloped Rectangle.

I used the Quills and tucked them under the banners, then the Princess Tree was layered as well and tacked down with the flowers arranged on top.  Here you can see the dimension of the Sweet Williams and Darling Daisies. The Tiny Fanciful Flourishes are tucked in under either side of the flowers.

Layered Doily Dies with Rhonda

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Happy Thursday crafty friends!  It's Rhonda here today to host the blog for you. My project today is a square card.

"Hello" (5x5 card)

I love the pretty layers of our doily dies and how they add such a delicate touch to your project. Here I'm showcasing a few of our newer dies, the Royal Scandinavian Doily and the Florence Filigree Doily. The steps that I used to create this card are:
  • To start I used a 5x5 card base in white card stock.
  • Next I added the square scalloped layer.
  • This was followed by the Royal Scandinavian Doily in light pink card stock.
  • Then I added the Florence Filigree Doily with foam adhesive for dimension.
  • I cut a layer using the Horizon Circle Boutique Stacker medium die.
  • The Bird Cage was added on top.

  • Cut the Daisy Strip, misted lightly with water, shaped and formed the layers and adhered.
  • Add the Princess Tree and arrange under the Daisy.
  • Hummingbird was cut next, then cut the wing a second time and attach to behind the bird. Ink edges and attach with foam adhesive for dimension.
  • Final step is to cut the smallest Horizon Fishtail Banner and trim to fit. Add sentiment by stamping or using a rub-on. Shape and attach by tucking under the Daisy.
  • Finishing touches were to add a pearl for an eye on the Hummingbird and gems in the corners of the Royal Scandinavian Doily.

Mixing it Up with Rhonda

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Happy Memorial Day.  Before we get to Rhonda's project, we would like to honor the more than one million Americans who gave their lives in the service of their country.  Without these brave men and women, we would not have the freedoms we do today.  Thank you to each and every one and to their families for their sacrifices.

Happy Monday to you!  It's Rhonda here today to host the blog for you. My project today is another where I've used a variety of scraps and it was really fun to put together.  I like to save my unused cuts so they don't go to waste, then challenge myself to use them up. You'll see that I cut some designs apart to use them in a different way.

I started with a 5.5" square base card, then I layered my Square Horizon Boutique Stacker, Square Scalloped Stacker and Square Classic Silver Stacker together.  Next I added the Chicken Wire, Wagon Wheel and ribbon.  Then the Princess Tree was cut apart and layered under my Daisy Strip.

The Daisy was cut from white cardstock and inked for a softer dimensional look.  I cut a heart from Sophia's Heart Border as an accent for my little tag.  A few little pearls and bling were added to give a little sparkle to my card.

Square - Scalloped LG Stackers Nesting Dies - XL-2
Square Classic Silver Stackers - L1

Flowers and Butterflies with Rhonda

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Happy Monday everybody!  It's Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

I have an everyday card to share with you today.  Sometimes you need a card to just say "Hello" or "I'm Thinking of You"…  or a prompt that says "Just to Say"...

Just to Say (5"x5" card base)

After I started with my 5"x5" card size, I discovered that the Square Horizon Boutique Stacker Frame would layer perfectly behind it!  I used a 1/4" corner rounder on my corners and attached the base to give the card a soft lacy edge.

The bird cage I cut, then I traced it onto some vellum to create a soft and pretty backer. I attached with a very fine amount of glossy accents just on the outer edge of the bird cage. This allows me to tuck in other elements if need be, like the Princess Tree or leaves.

A few details...

Dreaming of Spring with Rhonda

3:30 AM 8 Comments
Happy Monday to you!  Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

My project today is inspired by my dreamy thoughts of Spring. It's been a very cold and difficult winter where I live and all I can think about is how nice it will be to see pretty flowers and birds flying around again in the Spring. So, I decided to go with a dreamy springtime card today.

"Springtime Dreaming"

Isn't the new Classic Birdhouse so sweet? I love the details and wanted to feature it!

I've had some questions about what kind of adhesive that is used on my projects for the dies. I thought it might be helpful today to do a step by step of how I created this card and share which kind of adhesives I used along the way.

I always use my Tape Runner/ATG for layers, Glossy Accents, Glue Dots in various sizes, and Foam Dimensionals (you can get squares, dots, circles, etc.) in various depths.

  • To begin, I folded my paper and cut the base of this card using the 5th Scalloped Rectangle Die.
  • The folded card size is 4.5" x 5.5"
  • Next, I cut my Fiona's Magic Mirror layer, and scored it to fold and wrap to the back. I attached this layer with my tape runner leaving some open space on the top to tuck and layer other elements.
  • Cut the Concentric Circle Mesh, trimmed it, touched a bit of Glossy Accents on the bottom edges and tucked it behind my Fiona's Magic Mirror layer.
  • Cut the birdhouse, inked edges of cut pieces and attached pieces with Glossy Accents.
    • Adhered some glassine bag paper behind the bird hole to soften the look with Glue Dots.
    • Cut one Concentric Circle Mesh and attached on top of Bird House opening using a very little bit of Glossy Accents. (You can use a Q-Tip or your fingertip to do this.)
  • Cut 2 Princess Trees from 2 paper designs, cut the branches.
  • Add Foam Dimensional to back center section of Classic Birdhouse.  This is important so you can tuck and layer other elements as you go.
  • Tack on the Princess Trees to the Foam Dimensionals until you are happy with the arrangement.
  • Cut 1 Sentiment Frame 1, cut it in half and adhere under your birdhouse on both sides.
  • Attach Classic Birdhouse to card, aligning bottom with bottom of the Fiona's Magic Mirror.
  • Do not glue down Princess Tree Branches, leave them so you can still move and layer them.
  • Cut 1 set of Quills, tuck them under the birdhouse at angles using Glossy Accents or Glue Dots.
  • Tie wax string around base of Classic Birdhouse and make a bow. Curl tails with dowel.
  • Cut one Dancing Doily Lace Border segment and wipe a bit of Glossy Accents on back to attach. Add pearls if desired.
  • Cut Mini Fanciful Flourish Right, layer under the birdhouse (may need to trim a bit of the tail), tacking down the leaves with Glue Dots or touches of Glossy Accents.
  • Cut Cherry Blossoms (3 large and 2 small), shape and attach with a brad in the center.
  • Cut 2 sets of Medium Roses, shape and stagger your layers using a brad . I touch my centers with a bit of Glossy Accents to make them appear more budded.
  • Cut smallest 2 Rose Leaf Strip Leaves 2 times, ink the edges and cut tail off. Layer and attach under the Roses using Glue Dots.
  • Cut 2 Olive Branches and attach on either side of your Cheery Blossom.
  • Adhere flowers to card using Glue Dots
  • Cut Bird from Birds of Earth and Sky, ink and attach with Foam Dimensional. Add a pin dot of Pearl Pen for the eye. (Or a mini gem.)
  • Tack down any Princess Tree leaves if desired with a tiny amount of Glossy Accents.
  • Cut Tiny Fanciful Flourish, use a small touch of Glossy Accents and tuck under the bird.
  • Cut Clouds from Glassine Bag, layer under Princess Tree, House and Fiona's Magic Mirror Frame. Use a very tiny amount of Glossy Accents on the area that will be layered and not visible.
