Friends are Like Seashells...with Lisa Blastick

Hi everyone! Welcome back to a new card for Cheery Lynn Designs. It is that time of the year where I visit the beach. I love the ocean and the sentiment actually started my beach card.

No patterned papers here today just clean and simple cardstock with fun die cuts and a couple stamps.

Beach Bum by Laurie Schmidt

12:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi everyone!

Laurie here from Stamping Up North, back with another summer themed card to share.

It's been raining and dreary the last few days up north, so I decided to make a cheerful, sunny card.

My thoughts drifted to the beach, and I made a little beach scene with the Surfs Up set. I added some sand by using just a small piece of a pierced circle tucked behind the wave. The tiny flower with the cute smile is from the Oval Companion set. I added the Whimsical Sun and Clouds, and backed everything on a pierced circle and scalloped rectangle.

Here's a list of the dies I used:

Life is Better....With Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi! Welcome back to another fun card with Cheery Lynn Designs! Im so ready for the beach...I can't get it off my mind...lol I decided to use the fun "flip flops and board shorts" as the main focus. The Z fold card was made using a 5 inch by 12 inch piece of paper in blue. Then I cut it at the angle at 2.5 inches.

The sand is kraft paper and I fussy cut the hills. I added the wave edger to the bottom. On top I die cut out several clouds so it would match on the back too. The sentiment was printed from the computer.

I left room for signing the card or adding a picture.

The card is pretty flat. I love the details of the flip flops and how they pop as if you could place your foot inside. I sure do LOVE my flip flops too!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a great weekend!

Dream Big with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny here today sharing a nautical card.  I hope you had an opportunity to join in our June New Release Blog Hop.  I had so much fun creating with the new dies and thank you for all the sweet comments on my blog!

If you follow my posts you know I love using dies to add dimension to projects. It was so easy to add height to this card by stacking the waves.  Typically I add double sided foam tape between layers, but for this card I just didn't glue down the wave tops to the card stock.

The tops of the Waves were sprinkled with Frantage embossing powder for a foamy look.  The Sail Boat was cut out of dark gray paper and then I cut a second boat bottom out of metallic silver.  The bottom of the boat was also backed with the darker gray paper for contrast where the detail holes show.  I cut an aqua green sail for the large sail and covered it in glitter glue and then in a clear glaze.  It really stands out on the card.  Dream Big and the Clouds were also accented with clear glitter glue.

This Hope...with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi everyone! Are you ready for a new card inspired by this week's challenge with Cheery Lynn Designs? This week's challenge Red White and Blue is right up with my favorite upcoming holiday, The Fourth of July! You may have noticed that I'm still on beach mode and well, I suppose nautical is close enough. LOL This card can be used for that favorite man in your life too!
This shaker card was super fast to make today! The papers did most of the work for me. I added 2 "ship's anchors" and "wave border" to the bottom half of the card. The chain on the anchor I colored with a white signo pen.

The shaker in the center was cut using "circle silver stackers" I used the 2nd and 3rd smallest. together for the top and again with white foam. I then used the 3rd largest "circle" in acetate and white cardstock for the background with sentiment. Layer them together and I added some red beads, but you can add whatever you want in your center for the shaker part. Last but not least,  I added silver stickers on the top of the circle to give it the appearance of a window on a ship.

Hope you enjoyed!

Under the Sea by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi Everyone, it's JULIE here today and I am sharing with you an underwater themed card which would also look great on a scrapbook layout.

On the edge of my card I tattered my second layer with the edge of my scissors. Next I pressed the edge into my Versamark ink pad and heat set some Gold Embossing powder. My word Explore was also heat embossed in gold.

I used a mixture of foliage on the list below to give the look of Seaweed and Coral at the bottom of the sea. On my Princess Tree die I added a little Distress Stickles. My Starfish was shaded with ink and highlighted with a Fineliner pen, as was my Sand Dollar.

My Anchor was shaded with Copics, heat setting a little Distress Powder and a Patina powder for an aged rusty Look.

The detail on the Seahorse dies is incredible. I cut them out in patterned paper adding a little Stickles and Black Liquid Pearls to their eyes.I moulded the shape of them with my fingers for a curved look and mounted onto my card with Silicone Glue.

Finishing off with an accent from the Ships Compass

My wave edger, small shells and pearls.

Dream with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Today, I wanted to make a beach card for Cheery Lynn Designs. I recently was in Mexico on the beach and I truly love the sound of the waves. So, I'm dreaming that I want be back on the beach today. I used "wave edger", "sand dollar and starfish", and "seahorse" with some "clouds" dies. I stamped some seagulls to give a more beach feeling with the sentiment Dream. It is my serenity.
The beautiful "alpine flourish doily" is so whimsical. It seemed perfect for my Dream!
There are pop dots under several dies to finished this 4 x 5 inch card.

Cool Dude by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hi everyone, it's JULIE here today and I'm sharing a card using the New Release words Cool Dude. Let me take you through my techniques.

My centre die cuts were all layered twice for a shadow effect. My Palm tree was shaded with Copics and a little Distress Stickles added to leaves. My wording and arrow were all heat embossed with Red Tinsel Embossing Powder to make them stand out within my design.

I re-inserted my letters to the surf board after heat embossing them in the same way as above.

Life's A Beach by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Hi everyone, it's JULIE here today and I'm showcasing some more of our wonderful new release dies at Cheery Lynn with this beach scene card which could easily adapt for Memory Books and Scrapbook Pages.
I die cut my Life's a Beach in brown cardstock - notice the fabulous texture of it looking like an old washed up log on a beach, so cool. I mounted onto a piece of white cardstock which I had inked with shades to compliment my card. I then went around the outline of the letters with a Glaze pen to make them 'pop' and added a little twine.
My waves were layered twice adding some shells and a little starfish which I coloured with a Copic Pen.
My Reeds and Cat Tails were cut out in coloured cardstock adding in some dried grass from my stash.
