Dream by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hello, it's Jenny here from Jen's Paper Obsession hosting the blog today.  I'm sharing a card I made that has a window in the front.  I was planning a shaker card but with everything going on inside the window I decided to keep it simpler.  It does have a raised plastic window though.
I cut a circle in the piece of designer paper and sandwiched the plastic between that circle and a piece of thin chipboard in which I cut a smaller circle.  I also cut the Dream word out of the same chipboard before painting it with some new sparks paint.  The mushrooms were backed with white paper and I cut the read tops and mounted them on mushrooms cut out of white.  I added all my elements and adhered the layers together with a strong double sided tape.

I hope you like the result.  Thanks for dropping by the blog today.

Dream Forever by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello Cheery Lynn Fans, it's JULIE here today hosting the blog and I am delighted to be sharing some more inspiration from our new Bohemian Collection on my Dream Forever card.

Have you noticed on Cheery Lynn's Stacker Dies you can get Stitched and Pierced details at the edges of these Dies or just left plain. I love all these extra touches of detail and when I looked at the details on my Mandala Doily, Cowboy Boots and Dreamweaver Dies I noticed all the Pierced details so I knew I wanted to use one of the sets of Pierced Stackers. I chose the Coved Rectangles and added an accent from the outer edge of my Mandala Doily at the edges.

My Cowboy Boots were cut out of Kraft Cardstock highlighting all the embossed detail with a Fineliner Pen and a little ink to age them. I layered the swirls and buckles on twice and added a brad onto the boot. Aren't they so cool !

I cut my Mandala Doily out of Kraft Cardstock and paper from Maja Design, layering it on top for contrast. Next I cut out the centre and added my Dreamweaver Die which had also been layered twice. I extended the tassels on my Dreamweaver and hid the joins with my pretty flowers.

I offset the feathers to look as if they are blowing in the wind and added some small feathers that I pulled out of a feather pillow for added texture.

I finished with lots of pearls and a sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you manage to get some creative time  this week.

Crafty Hugs,
Julie x

Dream Big Card by Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 10 Comments
Good morning lovelies.
Do you also love all the new releases as much as I do?? For my card today I used the pretty "Dreamweaver"die which is amazing on it's own. I wanted to make my card a little Spring like because I miss the warmer weather.  It's so cold here in The Netherlands brrr. For my card I used some Maja Design papers and some mixed media products.

Dream Big:
The feathers on the Dreamweaver die I cut out times two so it looks like it moves a little. In the centers of the flowers I added some cream colored prills after I stuck two layers of the flowers together. I also added some flat back pearls on the Dreamweaver.

I also cut out the Dreamweaver two times and cut out the middle and layered them on top of each other to give it more depth and then I used foam tape to lift it a little.

Dream Big with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny here today sharing a nautical card.  I hope you had an opportunity to join in our June New Release Blog Hop.  I had so much fun creating with the new dies and thank you for all the sweet comments on my blog!

If you follow my posts you know I love using dies to add dimension to projects. It was so easy to add height to this card by stacking the waves.  Typically I add double sided foam tape between layers, but for this card I just didn't glue down the wave tops to the card stock.

The tops of the Waves were sprinkled with Frantage embossing powder for a foamy look.  The Sail Boat was cut out of dark gray paper and then I cut a second boat bottom out of metallic silver.  The bottom of the boat was also backed with the darker gray paper for contrast where the detail holes show.  I cut an aqua green sail for the large sail and covered it in glitter glue and then in a clear glaze.  It really stands out on the card.  Dream Big and the Clouds were also accented with clear glitter glue.

Dream with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny here today.  Since the challenge is Anything Goes this week I thought I'd try something a little different and dust off my mixed media supplies.  I began with a piece of patterned card stock that I colored with distress ink.  I brushed a little shimmery embossing paste over the top in the upper left corner.  I then ripped a piece of card stock that had been cut with the Lattice #3 die.  I added crackle paint to the top of the lattice die cut and glued it down to the main card layer.

The Chandelier die was colored with distress ink and embossed with gold and bronze chunky embossing powders.  I also sprayed some white dimensional spray in spots.  The Pierced Banner was cut from another piece of patterned card stock and a gold cord was threaded through the holes and tied in a bow.  Dream is from the Dream Big phrase set and the Sweet Christine flowers were cut with white and colored with pink ink.  I scrunched the flower petals to get an aged look and added rimmed pearls to the center.

Last I cut a pink card with the  Horizon Coved Rectangle Boutique Stacker die to back it with.  I didn't have the matching coved rectangle die to layer, so I flipped the die over and traced the corner curve on the main card layer before cutting the corners with scissors.

Big Day with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny posting today with a new card I made using a few dies that are new to me.  I love how delicate and intricate this Dutch Daisy Doily Square die is and couldn't wait to play with it.

I first cut the Dutch Daisy Doily Square out of a blue-green paper.  I then cut three layers using the French Flair Classic Stackers.  I used the largest to cut the kraft card base and then a smaller one to back the phrase created by the On YourDream Big and Day words that were cut with the same blue paper used for the Dutch Daisy Doily.

The Sweet Williams Strip flowers were cut out of a cream patterned paper.  The edges were colored with blue distress ink and then they were molded using a stylus and molding mat.  I stacked and glued them together and then used double sided tape to adhere them to the card front.  Last, I tucked in some Olive Branches and my go-to foliage, Flourish Leaf Strip die cuts and glued pearl centers on the flowers.

Dream Big with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny posting today with a card that evolved from a piece of patterned paper.  The paper is covered in blue-green, orange and pink circles.  I tried to match the same colors in the flowers, words and butterfly.

I first cut the Mirror Mirror Doily Frame with green patterned paper and turned it sideways.  I cut a center out of a cream card stock that matched the 5.5" card base and layered it on top, popped up with foam adhesive.  I added the Dream Big Phrase and the butterfly from Small Exotic Butterflies #2 and colored them with pink distress ink.

The white flowers were cut using the Shasta Daisy die and shaped by using a stylus and molding mat on the centers..  The little orange-pink Sweet Christine flowers were tucked into the arrangement and glued using a double sided tape.  I added rhinestone and pearl centers to the flowers. The leaves are from the Flourish Leaf Strip and were colored with distress ink.
