Baby

A few days before Christmas our vet gave birth to her first baby...
a girl, so yesterday I made this card to welcome little Olivia.
Concentrating on creating is a pleasant distraction to help
me deal with the pain.

Of course, the card had to have an animal on it, although I am pretty sure
our vet will not have to treat any giraffes in our little beach side town.

This oh-so-cute giraffe is a freebie digital stamp by Artesanato, and I
coloured her very softly with Promarkers.

My flower arrangement is very sparkly IRL with Star Dust Stickles,
but unfortunately the camera has not picked up the dazzle.

I completely covered the title die-cut with the Star Dust Stickles, and for
some reason the camera has picked up its sparkle.

The inside of the card co-ordinates with the front. I took this photo after the
sun had gone down, so that is why it is not as bright as the previous photos.

A Gem of a Challenge #185 - 'Celebrate Something New'

After several days of near average temperatures (but with high humidity), we are bracing ourselves again for a major heat-wave here in Australia, so I guess I will be staying indoors with the air conditioning on, and hopefully doing some more crafting,

Until next time, thank you for visiting.

Hugs,
Jennifer x

Starting Over

Happy New Year everyone...
I hope you had a lovely Christmas, and Santa was kind to you with lots of
new crafting goodies to add to your stash. Due to a serious family crisis, we
had a very quiet Christmas and New Year. My birthday fell between those days
(29th), so John and I went to a seaside town 2 hours away, where we had a lovely
light lunch, a long seaside walk, and a fabulous dinner. Between lunch and dinner we
had 2 shopping expeditions...John bought me a new handbag, then went for a drive
while I spent 1 1/2 hours in a scrapbooking/craft store, where lots of
goodies 'fell' into the shopping basket.

I suppose you couldn't help but notice, I have updated and 'prettified' my blog.
Of course I had an awful lot of help from my wonderful, and very clever John.

That's enough of my rambling on...let's move on to more important things!
After a break over the festive season, Crafty Little Fairies is back with a new

Good evening to all my crafting friends.

Once again it is Thursday (where do the weeks go??!!), so we have our second
challenge for you at Crafty Little Fairies. We were thrilled at the number of entries
we had last week for our first ever challenge when we changed our name and opened
the challenge to allow any brand of stamps.

This week it is the turn of the pink fairies to showcase their creations, and challenge
you all to join us in the theme of :-

I decided to create a card for a new baby girl.
I used one of my first ever stamp purchases for this card. It was in a set of 3,
by Stamp-it, but I don't know the name of the stamps themselves. I imagine
they would have been discontinued long ago. This is the first time I have used
that gorgeous corner die, but I don't think it will be the last.

I adore this little bear. It looks so cute in what ever colour I use.
As usual I used my Promarkers.

Inside my card co-ordinates with the front.

Baby Girl Hedgie

*****************
I am bursting to tell you some incredibly exciting news,
but not just yet.....you will have to wait........
*****************
Hello to all on this bitterly cold July morning,
It is actually our 41st Wedding Anniversary today,
(and they said it wouldn't last!!).
This is the card I made for my darling John a few months ago
for a challenge, then hid it until today...you can see the whole post here.

***************
I made this card months ago, and forgot to post it in my blog, so thought I would show you today. The image is my favourite 'go-to' stamp for baby cards - Penny Black's Baby Hammock.
It was for a dear friend who had just become a grandmother for the first time. I apologise for the bad photography, but I only just finished the card before she was due to visit me. I had to rush to take the photos and did not have time to upload them and check that were were okay.
Pastel ginghams and plaids seem to suit baby cards so well, don't they. I don't know what brand the embossing folder is, but I seem to remember that the design may be 'Butterflies and Vines'.

Challenges:-
Allsorts #214 - 'My Favourite Things' (babies-human or animal;
pink; promarkers; flowers; butterflies)
A Gem of a Challenge #87 - 'Lots of Layers'
Penny Black and More - 'Dies and Punches'
Addicted to Stamps #60 - 'Lots Of Layers'
That Craft Place - 'Ribbons and/or Lace'
Sweet Stampin' - 'Butterflies and Bows'
Cutie Pie #48 - 'Cute and Cuddly'
The Ribbon Girls - 'Add A Bow'

Stamp - Penny Black Baby Hammock
Colouring - Promarkers
Paper - unknown, from a 12x12 stack (have lost cover)
Dies - Spellbinders Classic and Scalloped Circles, and Lacey Circles
Punch - Martha Stewart
Embossing - ? Butterflies and Vines
Charm, Ribbon, Pearls, Peel-off Sticker all from my junk stash

I just hope the weather is warmer than here wherever you are.

Thanks for visiting - "happy crafting"!

Hello Baby

 Hello fellow crafters,
Recently a friend asked me to make a card for a friend of hers who had just had a little boy. She didn't want anything too 'fussy', so this is what I created.
Once again, I have used 'Warren'. I cut an aperture in some blue cardstock,
and attached this over the image. I can't remember how long I have had that
pearlised gingham paper - ages. The greeting is yet another peel-off sticker,
attached to a tiny piece of white cardstock, which I sponged with blue ink.

Challenges I would like to enter are :-
Crafting When We Can #41- 'Name That Tune' (Little Peter Rabbit)'
Simply Create Too #34 - 'Animals' (2nd entry)
Card Crafter's Circle #68 - 'Ooh Baby, Baby' (Winner)
Perfect Sentiment #72 - 'Brides/Babies'
That Craft Place - 'Animals' (2nd entry)

Image - Craftwork Cards 'Warren'
Colouring - Promarkers
Paper - from my junk stash
Dies - Spellbinders 'Scalloped Circles'
Card Candi - Craftwork Cards
Ink - Versacube 'Baby Blue'
Stickles, and peel-off stickers from my junk stash

Until next time, thank you for visiting,
Hugs,
Jennifer. x
