Ornament Garland

Good afternoon all. I have several Christmas cards to show you today.
It is frightening to think that Christmas is just a little over 3 months away.

Early in August, I was able to go to the annual Craft Show about 1 1/2
hours away in Newcastle. I was determined not to buy anything, but hey,
you know what it's like, don't you ladies, that is not a concept we crafters
understand too well...I kept finding myself lining up at various cash
registers with little plastic baskets full of "I must have it items".

Keeping with my personal policy of not making 2 cards the same, I made these
3 cards using this absolutely gorgeous die. I had the idea that I could probably
also use the garland with other objects in place of the Christmas items.

I love Kraft with red and/or burgundy.

This card was made with grey Bazzill cardstock.

A closer look at the gorgeous die-cut, with Platinum Stickles dots.

A closer look at the die-cut, with tiny pearls, on the grey Bazzill.
The burgundy cardstock is the same on all 3 cards, but don't
they look different against the different cardstocks.

I bought 1 metre of this 'yummy' grossgrain ribbon,
but wish I had bought more.

Die - Kaisercraft Ornament Garland
Ribbon - The Craft Queen
Punch - Creative Memories Corner
Stickles - Ranger Platinum
Pearls and peel-off sticker are from my junk stash

Birthday Balloons

Hello again.

My brother has just celebrated another birthday, and I decided to make a
CAS card for him, influenced by a card I saw about 2 years ago on Pinterest.

The card on Pinterest was a single layer card, but I decided to add a
layer with a very narrow matt border. The border is exactly even,
but the late afternoon shadow makes the right-hand side look wider.

Inside the card.

Dies - Cuttlebug Birthday (very old 2"x"2 set), Baby Face
Stamp - Stamp-it Australia Happy Birthday. (I only inked 'birthday').

Challenges I would like to enter
Aud Sentiments #188 - 'Anything Goes with a Sentiment'
Cuttlebug Mania - 'Anything Goes with Die-cuts or Embossing
Tuesday Throwndown #359 - 'Punches and/or Dies'

I will be back in a few days with some of the Christmas cards I have managed to make recently, so until then, "thank you for visiting".

Hugs,
Jennifer. x

Father's Day

Oh dear, it has been more than 3 months since I last touched my blog, and
I guess I have no excuse other than to say that 'life' has intruded (at most
times) more than I would like......
John's medical negligence claim is taking up so much time; I have taken
on extra responsibilities at the Fort; and I am having investigations for an
episode of significant chest pain. The one very bright spot has been a
wonderful visit last month by our son, Craig and little granddaughter,
Scarlette, who both live in London.

Here in Australia, last Sunday was Father's Day and this is the card I made for John.
It was so much fun 'playing' in my craft room again, and I have also managed to
make a few Christmas cards (I have yet to photograph them).

I bought the background script stamp at a retreat several years ago, and I am
ashamed to admit that this is it's first inking.

Shame on me again....this stamp is part of a set that I bought at 'Ally Pally'
in London many years ago, and it also has never seen ink before.

Inside the rather large card.

I love this die-cut from a pair of dies I have had for ages (and used often).

Stamps - Car from an un-named set of clear stamps for men
             - Background Script from Darkroom Door
Inks - Versafine Vintage Sepia; Versacube Sand
Dies - Marianne LR 0198; Memory Box Mini Gears
Sentiment inside card - computer generated
Greeting sticker is from my massive collection

Challenges I would like to enter
Cardz 4 Guys - 'Something Beginning With 'D' ' (Dies)
Crafty Cardmakers #195 - 'Monochrome'
Die Cut Divas - 'Masculine/Men/Boys'
Dream Valley #162 - 'Stamp or Digi Image'
The Crafter's Cafe #180 - 'Boys Will Be Boys'

I really hope I can continue card making and blogging regularly again, and also visit your blogs to 'check out' your fab creations.

Until next time, thank you for visiting,
Hugs,
