Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. Get Lucky by George Barnett

I don't know about you, but I'm liking George Barnett's cover of "Get Lucky" by Daft Punk much more than the original.  What do you guys think?

A Very Special Moment - Issue #9: Dance With My Father Again

For those who watch Ellen, you probably already know she's sent her staff to the Philippines to find young a boy by the name of Alrich Talonding.  She recently invited him to sing on her show.

The young boy has become a YouTube sensation after a video appeared of him singing Luther Vandross's, "Dance With My Father Again".  And if you've never heard of the song, it's one of the most emotional and heart-wrenching songs you'll ever hear.  It's about a child who misses his father who passed away, and who's mother's pain embraces him. Lyrics are at the bottom.

"Dance With My Father Again"

Back when I was a child, before life removed all the innocence
My father would lift me high and dance with my mother and me and then
Spin me around ‘til I fell asleep
Then up the stairs he would carry me
And I knew for sure I was loved
If I could get another chance, another walk, another dance with him
I’d play a song that would never, ever end
How I’d love, love, love
To dance with my father again
When I and my mother would disagree
To get my way, I would run from her to him
He’d make me laugh just to comfort me
Then finally make me do just what my mama said
Later that night when I was asleep
He left a dollar under my sheet
Never dreamed that he would be gone from me
If I could steal one final glance, one final step, one final dance with him
I’d play a song that would never, ever end
‘Cause I’d love, love, love
To dance with my father again
Sometimes I’d listen outside her door
And I’d hear how my mother cried for him
I pray for her even more than me
I pray for her even more than me
I know I’m praying for much too much
But could you send back the only man she loved
I know you don’t do it usually
But dear Lord she’s dying
To dance with my father again
Every night I fall asleep and this is all I ever dream

What Happened After the "Ever-Afters" of Ariel, Jasmine, Belle and Pocahontas?

My Facebook is overrun by this viral video that was posted merely two days ago.  So in order to satisfy those who haven't seen it.  I've posted it on my blog.
So who needs YouTube when you got PAINT, right?  At least that's what the protagonist, Jon Cozart calls himself on YouTube.

If you want to know what happened to Ariel, Jasmine, Belle and Pocahontas after their "ever-afters", Jon will sing it to you in this cute parody of Disney animations.  Enjoy.

The Biebs Being All Sexy and Douchey

I thought I'd post these "sexified," gif pics of Justin Bieber, because everyone knows all you gay boys have a secret crush on him.  Even though it pleases you to say he looks like a lesbian.

The Joys of Being a Parent: A Father & His Kids Cover Depeche Mode's "Everything Counts"

There's no better way of starting my blog this morning, than to blog about this father and his two kids performing a cover to Depeche Mode's "Everything Counts".  Absolute genius I'm telling you.  The father is using an 80's keyboard, a xylophone, a kazoo, tambourine, Coke bottle and his voice.  His daughter is using a recorder, a rattle, windchime and her voice. And his son is using a toy keyboard, maraca, cheese grater and his voice.  And it actually doesn't sound bad, it's great!  I love it!

This is what my segment "The Joys of Being A Parent" is all about.  Fathers and their kids, Mothers and their kids, and children in general.  We were all there at some point, and when a parent shows this much interest in their babies as this man does, there is nothing but happiness and joy when I'm blogging about it.

A YouTube commenter said it best when he wrote this:
Actually, this video shows a lot. He invests time teaching his kids music. I am impressed with how he has, obviously, motivated his kids to take an interest in making music. When I taught high school I noticed that an overwhelming majority of kids spend most of their time plugged in to their mp3 players, but have no interest in making music. Of course, many more things come into play when talking about someone’s parenting skills, but based on this video, the dad is pretty impressive. -lagaviotanum1

Petie Pizarro Wins First Round of Cover Wars 7

Petie Pizarro's vocal talents outweighed those of Nick Pitera by a mere vote.  In a vote of 8 to 7, Petie will be competing against this week's round 2 winner, and what a challenge he's up against.  As I mentioned in my initial blog, all these artists are truly amazing, so if you want Petie to win in the finals you'll need to vote.

Cover Wars 7

This has got to be the most difficult Cover War to date.  I spent 2 hours on Sunday listening to over 100 covers of Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory," and I never grew tired of listening to it.

All the artists in this month's war deserve a standing ovation, hell they each deserve a Cover Wars Album, they are all absolutely amazing!  I cried as I watched a cover of a boy with Cerebral Palsy and it made it even harder for me to pick these Top 12 people.  He didn't make the top 12, but I will tell you this... the courage alone was enough to make anyone vote for him.

Cover Wars 6 Winner Abraham Lim

What a Hot Fucking Mess! This Is Definitely a Cover of California Gurls Gone Wrong!

I just changed the title to one of my most popular series.  LMAO, just kidding.  After hearing this outrageous cover to Katy Perry's "California Gurls," I came very close to doing it.

Geezus, this boy needs some help, and I thought I was bad. "What a Hot Mess!"
This video is awesome only because it is 8am in Jersey City, sitting on a bus filled with people on their way to work and this guy is belting Katy Perry California Girls with a disc man in hand. It was pretty much the best bus ride ever! - YouTube Description

I'm sorry, but if I was stuck on the bus with this guy on an early morning ride to work, I'd either commit suicide or throw him off the bus. "Awesome", really?  Okay, okay, it is a little funny.  Still a hot mess though. :-)

Thanks to my Facebook friend, Michele, I was singing the damn song all day. My co-workers were wondering what the hell came over me.  Check it out, hopefully you won't succumb to the powers that be, the Wal-Martians!

The song is titled, "People of Wal-Mart" and yes, you can buy it on iTunes!  The artist, Jessica Frech has even included the lyrics on her YouTube page, which I have kindly added after the jump.
