Sorry, I know pretty much all my posts lately have been about cakes. But that is pretty much the only thing going on in our lives right now. I'm still working. Anthony is still working and going to school. Nothing to exciting happening.
So here are a couple more cakes i've done recently.
This first one was my dad's birthday cake. Quick sidenote: my dad is awesome!!! Not only does he have a great sense of humor and an amazing love for his wife and children, but he can build ANYTHING!!! I think my sister said it best when she said "My dad can beat up your dad...and build his own canoe". Yes, my dad is currently building his own redwood canoe.
This is my dad's canoe.

So this next cake has by far been my biggest cake that i've made. Which translates into the biggest headache a cake has caused. This cake was 16 inches square. It started off a pain in my side, but by the end I was quite pleased with it.
I had my second PAID cake job this past weekend. One of the head honchos at work liked the cakes that I had done so much that he wanted me to make a cake for his family birthday party. They have four people with birthdays in March and he wanted one cake for all four people. One was a runner, one liked hockey, one liked golf, and one was an Oregon State Ducks fan. That was pretty much all he gave me. This is what I came up with:
The only thing on this cake that was not made out of fondant or gumpaste was the stick of the golf flag.
I made a pattern for these shoes based on the booties pattern I found for the baby shower cake. What else do you do for a runner?
This hockey goal was kind of a pain, but I think this was my favorite section of the cake.
I am planning on getting a business set up and am in the process of getting business cards and a website set up. Sometimes the cakes can be frustrating, but by the end when they get done and they turn out well, it it very rewarding.
