The Tragic Tale of the Irish Dancer & Her Incontinent Mother

March Madness has officially descended up on our world as we are just days away from St. Patrick's Day.  Irish Dancer Girl will be shamrockin' all over the city of Tucson (Irish Dance style) for the next week to spread leprechaun love amongst the citizens.  While going over the performance list this morning, my mind wandered back to a time in the not so distant past where my sweet girl gave me a lovely surprise just before her very first St. Patrick's Day March Madness performance.  Thought it would be fun to take a stroll down memory lane with ya'll and give you some giggles.  Sit a spell while I weave a tragic tale of the six year old Irish dancer and her incontinent mother. One fine March day in 2009, Cat and I began our school morning cutting out shapes and chatting it up like two old ladies at bingo night. I had to (ahem) “use the little ladies room” for the 400th time in 20 minutes, and in the interest of safety, (because I’m one of those annoying over-protectiv

Wordless Wednesday (almost): Who Are The "People" in Your Neighborhood?

Cat made some new friends in our neighborhood yesterday.....new friends wearing fun summer fashions.... Cat sharing a laugh with the ladies....I kept telling her to ask them why they weren't wearing their Old Navy Town Gowns, but she wouldn't do it....so I asked them myself and they said it was "casual Tuesday".....I said I thought it should be "Town Gown Tuesday", but they just shoo'd me off to the "2 for $5.00" flip flop sale..... Of course, Cat wants to adopt this puppy....the Modelkins family didn't want to give him up....Do you have any interesting people in your neighborhood???

Not Me Monday! The Rebel Edition

Join in the Not Me! Monday fun brought to the land of Blog from MckMama over at My Charming Kids! And we're off! *I did NOT squeal with delight and do a happy dance when my nephew (who is by the way, the world's best nephew) called to tell me he was accepted for the Canandaigua Braves Traveling All Star Baseball Team! I did NOT get all warm fuzzy! Way to go, Alec! (I did NOT get seriously peeved at his mother (my sister) for not having her camera to photograph his homerun that won the game on Saturday either....uh yeah...I'm talking to you, Aunt Oooo...what are ya gonna do about it? Spit on me from NY? Take your camera next time!) (Hear the crickets chirping??? This is the spot where I would NOT have a photo of Alec hitting that awesome home run....just sayin, Oooo...Oh...and Nana and Papa...Boo Hiss on you for not taking your camera to New York!!! Am I the only person in this family who takes a picture of anyone???) *While running errands yesterday, I did NOT say to my kid

Weird Kids, Wordles and Gifts for You! Woo Hoo!

Wordles Welcome to the Weekend! We are rockin' our Wordle in honor of Shan's Week-end Wordles ! This is Shannon's Wordle Launch Weekend so go and give her some linky love! She's also known as Baby Roca's Mama at My Last Shreds of Sanity ! The kids and I had a bunch of fun making wordles this week! She's ready to show you how to rock your wordle so get on over there when you're all finished up here! Weird Kids I'm speaking of my weird kids, of course. Last night as we were tucking in for bed, I said to Miss Cat, "Don't let the bed bugs bite!" An evil grin appears on her cherubic face and she says, "I'll kill the bed bugs, put them in soup and use them in my chicken stir fry!" HUH? What the heck kind of crazy games does she play when I'm not around???? I'm kind of freaked out by this little angel! This is the same weird kid that publicly humiliated our family at Olive Garden a few months ago during our delightful lun

Makeup Monday Madness (aka Can Ya Help a Sister Out With a Camera?)

Hello, family and friends! I am back after a 'no post' weekend! A first for me! I must say I felt weird and vulnerable not exposing myself for two whole days. Not to worry, I'll be exposing myself all week long! Today, I would like to share a bit about one of my BBFF's (bloggy best friend forever), Baby Roca's Mommy over at My Last Shreds of Sanity . Yesterday was her 38th birthday and I'm sure she wouldn't mind a few belated Happy Birthday wishes from friendly bloggers like yourselves! If you haven't yet had the pleasure of her acquaintance, please drop in for a visit! She is charming, witty and giggles are guaranteed! She loves Rick Springfield and she has a very cool leg lamp widget from A Christmas Story too! She is having Shan's Week-end Wordles over at her bloggy beginning this weekend so swing on over to see all the fun goings-on over there! I think Week-end Wordles are a great way to do a weekend post without frying your brain too much! Th

Rodeo Runaway

We live in the Wild West....the frontier....the land of cactus, cowboys, coyotes, bright blue skies and wanted fugitives.... It seems that our beautiful Princess Catherine has decided to run away and join the rodeo. Looking back I can see that there were clues all week long...I can't believe I didn't put them all together until it was too late! Clue #1 Catherine spent a lot of time twirling a long gray satin ribbon with a loop on one end while wearing her cowboy hat. "Whatcha' twirlin' there, girly?" I asked completely confused. "My lasso! I'm gonna be in the rodeo this week!" she said with a twang. Clue #2 I found a pink handled revolver (huh?), pink holster (where did that come from?) and pink cowgirl hat laying on her bed...next to that were her brother's old chaps and sheriff's badge. Clue #3 Witnessed her with her "trick pony" riding and ropin' all over the house....(ok...she was on her stick unicorn, but the rodeo move

Now I Know I'm Old + Best Weight Loss Motivator Ever!

First off, how many of you saw these guys yesterday? That's right, baby! We got us some Sleestaks ! As I wandered through my family room past the cavemen grunting and pointing at the bigger cavemen tossing around a pigskin on TV, I decided to take a load off and sit for a minute. Imagine my PURE delight when I saw the commercial for the re-make of "The Land of the Lost" starring Will Ferrell!! The cavemen on the couch couldn't understand my excitement...duh, Dawn, they're cavemen...but I jumped up and began blabbering all over about Sleestaks, Will, Holly and their little freaky caveman friend, Cha-ka (who reminded me alot of the smaller caveman on the couch..). That sent me down memory lane reflecting on all the great Sid & Marty Krofft creations that I would spend every Saturday in the 70's watching on our TV. Do you remember any of these??? (Now, if you are a young whippersnapper, you will now completely understand the title of my blog...you will be th
