Sunday, February 21, 2016

Hi all.  I have several cards to post today.  The first one is for the Imagine That Digi Stamps design team.  This cute image is perfect for a belated birthday card.  I colored the image with alcohol markers and layered it on embossed card stock with a layer of pink.  I added the ribbon that matched the colors as well as the country theme.  This image can be found in the store, here.  It is called A Little Behind and there are some other cute images that are included with it.

Here are some more of my cards that I have been working on lately...

This card folds out and there is a battery operated tea light behind the window.

One of my many Bird Crazy cards.

I thought this sock monkey from Bugaboo Stamps was so adorable.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my cards.

Till next time...

Happy New Year!

I can't believe it has been 2 months since my last post.  The Imagine That design team was on hiatus and I am now, just getting back in to the swing.

My first card is one that I did for the IT design team.  I just love the way that Kris draws her cute animals.  This is no exception.  I decided to keep this card CAS (clean and simple).  I used colored pencils to color the image and added some home-made "enamel dots" that are actually perler beads that I melted down so they would look like the enamel dots which are very expensive to buy!  I used the png image so I was able to put the happy birthday on the balloon.

This set can be purchased in the Imagine That Digi Stamp store, here.

I am adding some other cards that I have done on, lately. Some of them are Christmas cards...

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my work.  Thank you for looking.
I would love to get your comments!

Till next time...

Leesa's Dust Bunnies

Hi all.  Today I am showing a couple of cards that I have been working on lately.  The first one is called Leesa's Dust Bunnies.  It comes in a set called Leesa's Cleaning Day from Imagine That Digi Stamps.  It can also be purchased by itself.  Just click on whichever one you want to purchase.  This digi is so cute it makes me not want to clean my house so I can have those adorable dust bunnies!  She was colored with alcohol markers and the sentiment is also from the set.

The next cards are ones that I made as a special order for a client to give to her friends for
their birthdays.  They both love to play golf so I came up with these 2 digi images.
They were also painted with alcohol markers.  The backgrounds are dry embossed.

The inside of this card says...way above par...

They were such a hit that I have several orders from other people who want to send some
to their friends. The great thing is they are each personalized with the recipient's name.

That's all for now.

Till next time...

Christmas in July

Hi all.  Today I am posting the July SOTM Challenge DT card.  The name of the set is called Treat Stand which happens to be on sale right now!  After printing the image, I cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers and glitter gel pens and popped it on a die cut.  The background was done with a plastic wire distress tool.  I used a glitter designer paper for the background, an embossed card stock, a ribbon and glued on a red base to complete the card.

Don't forget to go to Imagine That Digi Stamps and play along with our challenge.  Remember, this is a progressive challenge.  If you played last month, your digi image will be free.  If you didn't play, you can purchase the entire set on sale in the store.

Stay tuned next month because we will have a little surprise for you!

I am going to show some other cards that I have been making lately.

This was made for a friend who happened to be born of the 4th of July.  I gave a technique class
at my club on how to make a ribbon wreath.  We made a bunch of different ones for Christmas, Chanukah, winter and so on.  They all seemed to really enjoy my idea.

 Another watercolor card.

The bokeh background on the top of this card is actually a removable bookmark.

I made this card for my husband's birthday.  He loves elephants.

This was from a card sketch on Splitcoast Stampers

Experimenting with stencils and Gelatos.
This card has been entered in the following challenge:
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes With Optional Twist

I hope you enjoyed seeing my cards.

A COUPLE OF MY RECENT CARDS...

Hi all!
I have been trying to keep busy lately with my card making.  I thought I would show you a couple of my latest cards... The first one was stamped with a very large butterfly image and heat embossed with ultra fine black embossing powder.  I colored it with only 2 Copic markers.  I placed the card front on my Cuttlebug plate and taped each die cut so they would not move.  I cut the entire thing in one passing.  After that, I used pop dots, graduating each layer so that I ended with 5 layers of pop dots on the center piece.  I love the effect of this technique.
The second card was made for my sister's birthday.  I used a digital image and colored it with colored pencils.  I die cut the image and also cut a piece of black card stock with the same die.  I cut the black one in half and made a partial frame with it.  I wanted it to give some contrast against the pink, embossed piece of card stock.  I layered them on a white card base.
I hope you enjoy seeing what else I do (when I am not doing design team work!  ;-)

Until next time...

Imagine That Digi Stamps Progressive Challenge

Hi all.  I am back to work with the Imagine That Digi Stamp Progressive Challenge.  The name of the  set is called Poolside Penguins.  It is so adorable.  I'm glad that I didn't miss this one, while I was on hiatus.  I colored the image with Copic markers and paper pieced the swim trunks with washi tape.  That was a first for me!  I did some embossing for the water and cloud background.  The water background was actually cut up from a folder that had fish in it.  I didn't like the look, so...I cut them out and pieced it back together, without the fish...

Now it's your turn to use this free image, if you played in May.  If you didn't, you can purchase the entire set for $3.00 in the store.  Then, if you use anyone of the images in this month's challenge, you will be eligible to receive the challenge digi for next month, for free!

Don't forget to leave me a comment.  I need some lov'in right now!  I have had a difficult couple of months!  Also, be sure to check out what some of the other design team members are doing.

Till next time...

Floating By...

Hi all.  Today, I am spotlighting my inspiration card for Imagine That Digi Stamps.  I used the image called Honey & Boo Balloons from this link and the designer paper from Bella's Beauties Birthday Bubbles.  I colored the image with colored pencils and gamsol and stamped the background with a sponge.  Then, I spilled most of my gamsol all over the whole image!  Ugh, what a mess!!  I wasn't sure if there was any hope in being able to salvage it.  After letting it dry, I recolored with Copic markers.  You can see where the colors ran around the entire image.  Since I had spent so much time working on it, I decided to post it anyway.  Hopefully, you all can get the idea of what I was trying to do!

Don't know why this image is so fuzzy!

Fly on over to Kris's store and use this coupon code to get 40% off when you spend $10 or more.

Snow Globe Angel

Hi all.  Today, I am showcasing Imagine That Digis Progressive Challenge.  The set is called Jenn & Friends.  I decided to make an easel card with this cute image.  I used a large snowflake brad to hold it up.  I used purples and pinks so it wouldn't look too Christmasy.  I wanted to use it for a winter birthday card.  I really like the way it came out and the colors really pop.

 My easel card set up.

This is the file from Imagine That Digis Progressive Challenge.

I hope you like my card.  Please check out all of the other design team member's cards.  Then grab the digi and play along.  When you join the challenge, your next challenge digi is always free!
Please leave a message on my blog.  I always like to know what you think!  Thanks.  :-)

Goodbye to The Cutting Cafe Design Team...

Hi all.  Well, it is with great sadness that I must say goodbye to Regina and all of my fellow design team members at The Cutting Cafe.  I have been a designer with them for 2 terms and that is the limit allowed.  I have learned so much and had such fun on this team.  Regina is such a great person!  She really cares about all of her designers.  I will miss you all!

For my last project, we were able to pick anything in the store!  I wanted to something that was not Christmasy and something that would be fun to create.  I found the perfect project!  It is called Fun With Owls and boy is it!  I spent a lot of time on this card and I really wanted it to be special.  Don't you just love the googly eyes?  Each Owl was colored and fussy cut and adhered with some tiny pop dots.  The branch was hand cut and the leaves were cut off of a die cut of a vine and I just cut the leaves off and glued them onto the tree.  I used a clear glitter pen, but unfortunately, you can't really tell so you will have to take my word for it.  Tee-hee.  I hope you enjoyed my farewell card.  Be sure to check out The Cutting Cafe and see what everyone else chose to do.  I am sure you will love all of the wonderful projects from the very talented design team!

Next week, I will be showcasing a card for Imagine That Digi Stamps.  We had most of the month off, but we will start doing our progressive challenge in the beginning of January.  Keep checking back to see what I have to show.

Happy New Year to all!

Till next time...

Birthday Sea Horse

Hi everyone.  This week, I am getting away from holiday cards and I am going to showcase Imagine That Digi Stamps Progressive Challenge digital stamp.  This month we are doing the free digital stamp set called Birthday Sea Horse.  I think it is a she horse so I made her into a girlie card.  I also used the Birthday Bubbles n' Things papers which can be found on the web site.  I wanted to make her bright and colorful and added some embossing glitter around the image die cut.  I hope you like her.  It is a fun set to make for a child's birthday, girl or boy.

Be sure to go to the challenge blog and learn how you can get this set
(and a new one every month for free)!

Next week, I will be going back to my holiday cards.  Enjoy!
