Stamp of the Month and Some More

Hi all.  I can't believe it is October already.  It's time for the Imagine That Digi Stamps Design of the Month Challenge.  This month the image is called Mistletoe Kitty and she/he can be found in the shop, here.  I used alcohol markers to color the image and a die cut for the sentiment.  I added 3 sequins and layered on embossed card stock to finish it off.

I made the next card for my stamping club for the November meeting.  We are suppose to have the sentiment on the front of the card.  I wanted to make a rainbow card so used watercolor to paint the rainbow focal image, heat embossed the greeting in black over it and added a colorful die cut butterfly.  The background was done in rainbow colors with Ken Oliver's Color Bursts.  I just love playing around with them!

Another thing that I love to play around with are the fairly new Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Bird Crazy stamp set.   They are soooo cute and fun to color!  I have been using watercolors on them.  I just ordered the accessory stamps called Crazy Things that go with the set, so, I will be able to add things like hats, glasses, ties, balloons, bunny ears, and much more.  I can't wait to get them.  meanwhile, enjoy the first 2 that I have made so far...

While you are in the Imagine That Digi Stamp shop, be sure to check out the free scrapbook set that Kris is offering.  It is really pretty.  And, don't forget to enter the challenge to get your free digi stamp for next month.  If you played along last month, your Mistletoe Kitty is free!

Till next time...

Leesa's Dust Bunnies

Hi all.  Today I am showing a couple of cards that I have been working on lately.  The first one is called Leesa's Dust Bunnies.  It comes in a set called Leesa's Cleaning Day from Imagine That Digi Stamps.  It can also be purchased by itself.  Just click on whichever one you want to purchase.  This digi is so cute it makes me not want to clean my house so I can have those adorable dust bunnies!  She was colored with alcohol markers and the sentiment is also from the set.

The next cards are ones that I made as a special order for a client to give to her friends for
their birthdays.  They both love to play golf so I came up with these 2 digi images.
They were also painted with alcohol markers.  The backgrounds are dry embossed.

The inside of this card says...way above par...

They were such a hit that I have several orders from other people who want to send some
to their friends. The great thing is they are each personalized with the recipient's name.

That's all for now.

Till next time...

Imagine That Digi of the Month

Hi all.  Today I am posting my card that I made for the DOTM.  It is called Maggie's Apples and Maggie is a sweet cow!  Last month's players received this brand new set, to play in this month's challenge.  If you missed that challenge, you can get this set FREE with your $10 order in the shop.  Or, you can buy it at a reduced price all of this month so you can come and play!  Everyone who plays by September 28th will receive a free set to play in next month's challenge.  I colored my "Maggie" with alcohol markers and cut with out with a Spellbinders die.  I used some of the Imagine That digi paper and added a bow.

Don't forget to check out the DOTM challenge page and see how easy it is to win a new set to use for next month's challenge.  We have also just started a new program called Cherry on Top.  Someone will win a new set, if their challenge card is chosen by our design team.  You must play to win!  Keep watching the blog after the first of next month to see if you are the winner.

I will be posting some other new cards that I have made, soon.

August 21, 2015

Hi all.  I have a few cards to show you and one for the Imagine That Digi Stamps design team inspiration.  The first card is just that.  The set is called Chef Freddy.  I colored the image with alcohol markers but put him on the inside of the card.  For the outside of the card, I cut some circles and framed him so his face showed through the frame.  I used some of the designer paper from the set and added a die cut happy birthday and a bow on the top.  The sentiment on the inside is from the set.

My next card is an Oriental one that I did with embossing paste and a brass stencil.  I used white paste and Inktense blocks to scrape some black and some red color so that I could emboss with 2 different colors.   This was one of my first attempts at stencil embossing.  I am really pleased  with  the way it turned out.  The Kanji symbol means love.  For the background, I did another new technique where I dry embossed the black background with an Oriental design and covered the debossed side with silver Gelato and got the great metal effect.  I used red embroidery thread to finish it off.

The last card that I am showcasing is made from a Zentangle Inspired Art (ZIA) piece that I did.  I tangled in the digi image, cut out the larger heart shape and mounted it on a black tile (card stock).  I punched the design and added some black paper behind the punched front and the black bow on top.   I realized that I have so many Zentangle projects that I really didn't know what to do with so I thought I would make some of them in to cards.

Be sure to check out the Imagine That Digi Stamps Designers Choice Awards.  We have our first winner!

Christmas in July

Hi all.  Today I am posting the July SOTM Challenge DT card.  The name of the set is called Treat Stand which happens to be on sale right now!  After printing the image, I cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers and glitter gel pens and popped it on a die cut.  The background was done with a plastic wire distress tool.  I used a glitter designer paper for the background, an embossed card stock, a ribbon and glued on a red base to complete the card.

Don't forget to go to Imagine That Digi Stamps and play along with our challenge.  Remember, this is a progressive challenge.  If you played last month, your digi image will be free.  If you didn't play, you can purchase the entire set on sale in the store.

Stay tuned next month because we will have a little surprise for you!

I am going to show some other cards that I have been making lately.

This was made for a friend who happened to be born of the 4th of July.  I gave a technique class
at my club on how to make a ribbon wreath.  We made a bunch of different ones for Christmas, Chanukah, winter and so on.  They all seemed to really enjoy my idea.

 Another watercolor card.

The bokeh background on the top of this card is actually a removable bookmark.

I made this card for my husband's birthday.  He loves elephants.

This was from a card sketch on Splitcoast Stampers

Experimenting with stencils and Gelatos.
This card has been entered in the following challenge:
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes With Optional Twist

I hope you enjoyed seeing my cards.

April D.O.T.M.

Hi all.  Time to showcase the Design of the Month (DOTM) at Imagine That Digis.  The set this month is called My Sailmate.  If you played last month, then you will be able to get this whole set for free.  Also, if you didn't play, not to worry, you can purchase the set here and when you submit a project using one of the images, you will automatically receive the next month's set for free!  As long as you play, you will continue to get your free set.  There are so many images that are included, as well as sentiments, you are sure to find something that you will love to use.

For my card this month, I did a total change from my "normal" cards.  This one is truly a mixed media project.  I printed the image on white card stock and on a print out of one of IT's designer papers so that I could paper piece the mast sail.  I made waves with a quilling technique in blue & white.  The boat was colored with alcohol markers.  I painted the water with Inktense blocks and water and added white gel pen to make the waves in the water.  For the sky, I used what is called a Bokeh method which I did by using a small ink dauber and pounced the different colors of the sky from the darkest, down to the lightest.  After that, I used a soft white ink and pounced again with the dauber.  This technique gives an out of focus look.  I think my card is interesting.  Definitely not my usual stuff!  Hope you enjoy it.

Come and play with us in our DOTM challenge.

Until next time...

New Month, New Cards...

Hi all.  Well, March did come in like a lion, so I am told.  However, here in FL, I think we hit some record highs!  We had our coldest weather at the end of February but when March came, it suddenly turned into Spring.  I know you folks up north will be blessed with better weather, soon.  Meanwhile, I have been working on some card that I would like to share.  The first one is the D.O.T.M. (design of the month) which means a new challenge at Imagine That Digi Stamps.  I am very excited to show you this card.  Kris did an amazing job, designing these digi stamps.  Remember, if you played in the challenge last month, you can have the free digi to use in the challenge, this month.

I used a combination of glitter gel pens, alcohol markers, sponged ink and some die cuts.  The background is designer paper from the set.  It is called Pretty Peacocks and I definitely think they are!
Check out all of the other great digi stamps while you are there.  By the way, there is also another challenge that they have every month where you use any Imagine That Digi stamp.

The next card that I am showing is a card that I made from an adorable clear set that came with the January issue of Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine.

I stamped the image on watercolor paper and used my new Prismacolor watercolor pencils.  It was my first try and I am rather pleased with the outcome.  I just love the die cut grass that I used on both of these cards.  The die cut is from My Favorite Things.

I hope you enjoy seeing my cards.  Please let me know that you visited by leaving a comment in the comment section, below.  It really means a lot to me!

February Digi of the Month

Hi all.  I am a bit behind on getting my Digi of the Month (D.O.T.M.) DT inspiration card done.  I have finished it and would like everyone to get a chance to play in this month's challenge.  If you played last month, you should already have the new stamp set called Mailbox Kitties.  If not, you can purchase it from the store.  The price has been reduced from $3.00 to $1.95.  In fact, all of the older stamps have been reduced!  There is even a new category of $1 digis.  Now is the time to go to the store and pick up the ones that you don't already own.  My DT card for this month was done a little differently from what I usually do.  After I colored the image with alcohol markers, I fussy cut it and made several layers to place the image onto.  I used a lace heart doily, a couple of layers of cardstock, one of which I dry embossed with my heart embossing folder.  I used my new ribbon from the Dollar Tree and added a couple of threaded buttons.

Don't forget to play along with our Feb. Digi of the Month challenge.  Please be sure to check out the other designers' projects while you are at the site.

Till next time...

Valentine Mouse

Hi all.  I am back this month with a new card for Imagine That Digis design team. I have been in the hospital (again) and I am a bit behind, but I hope to play catch up this week.  I also plan to post the digi of the month card very soon.  You will have all month to play.  My new card is called Chloe's Balloons and can be found in the store, here.  I colored the image with alcohol markers and pieced the balloons with some of the Valentine designer paper in the store.  More of the designer paper was also used for the background.   In addition,  I added a heart shaped doily and some tiny pearls that I painted red with a Copic marker.

Here is another Valentine card that I made as a sample for a Zentangle® card class that I am teaching.  I tried to use a lot of the elements that I will be bringing to the class.

To see more of my Zentngle Inspired Art (ZIA), check out my Zentangle site:

Remember to be on the lookout for my card for the digi of the month (DOTM).

Football Humphrey

Today I am showing the card that I made for the Imagine That Digi stamps progressive challenge.  Today's card is called Football Humphrey.  I made all of the Humphrey images so I figured I would do this one also.  The file can be found here.  I colored Humphrey with gel pens and alcohol markers. He was fussy cut and pop dotted on to the background that I found online.  It was mounted on navy blue card stock and then mounted onto the card.  I did the hand sticking around the blue card stock.  hope you enjoy the card.  It is great for the football lover.

Remember that you can play along with our S.T.O.M. also known as the progressive digi challenge.  The details can be found here...

I'm Back!

Hi all.  Sorry that I have been MIA for a few weeks.  I was out of the country on a cruise (to renew our vows for our 15th anniversary).  Then I had to head down to Moffitt Cancer Center for some tests and my treatment.  The Dr. said that everything was pretty good and in my case, that is good!  Anyway, I am back with December's challenge card for Imagine That Digi Stamps Progressive Challenge.  The set used for this card is called Joy.  I colored it with alcohol markers, used die cuts, a punch, designer paper and ribbon to finish it.

Be sure to play along by the end of the month and next month, you will get the January freebie to use.  If you have played in the past, you should already know how this works.  Be sure to check out the cards that the other Design Team members have made.

Nuts About You!

I just love these Humphrey images from Imagine That Digis.  This one is Humphrey holding an acorn.  I dry embossed the background with a leaves embossing folder.  I cut out the image with a Nestabilities Die and Then cut a frame with the same shape, only larger.  I added 4 brads and that was that.  Hope you enjoy it...

It's not too late to play the Progressive Challenge over at Imagine That Digis.  The theme this month is Breast Cancer Awareness.  The digi that we are using is adorable!  Check it out!
