Anniversary Frame with Quilling

Hi. I am so happy I am back to quilling with these last few orders that I received. The client wanted a big frame with 3 pictures and a personalised message and lots on quilling along the pictures. This is what I came up with. The moment I got this order I knew I wanted to pick up pastel shades. The picture along after framing is not captured very well as I was in a hurry to ship it.

This picture will give you a much clearer glimpse of the frame. I wanted to give a nice background to the frame and not just quill on a plain paper. So I decided to use some pretty pattern papers. I took a print-out of the wordings that the client had sent.

The client specifically wanted these quilled birdies from my 'Love birds card', in the frame. A close up of the quilled birdies all glittered up!!

Quilled Name Plate

Hi. I made this name plate on order. The color theme suggested was Red and Gold and the technique required was quilling with beehive. I have used 2 shades of red. Not sure if its visible through this picture. One of the WIP photo below shows it well. I have not incorporated too much design into this so that the names can be read clearly. I used a handmade paper from a local shop for the base. I painted it with bronze and golden paint to make the texture stand out and I really liked how it enhanced the overall look.

A look at some work-in-progress images.

Do you see the difference in the bg color here. The bright bronze and gold makes it stand out.

This is my first attempt at a quilled name plate. Do let me know your frank feedback on this.

Edited: Thanks for your feedback friends. No, this is not my handwriting. I took a print out and traced it on paper as printing on handmade paper is not possible.

Quilled love birds

Hello everyone!! This is my first post for this year. But I have lots of cards ready to be shared :)
Today I am sharing my most recently quilled card based on Pritesh's challenge, which was to make a valentine day card. The condition is not to use reds, pinks and hearts.  using nonntraditional colors. It really got me thinking and this is what I came up with. The branch is hand drawn. I added a half moon with glitter balls as stars, to depict moonlight.
 A close-up of the moon...
 And the birdies..
Hope you all like my card. Unless you leave a comment, how do I know? :))

Quilled garden

Hi guys, this is by far the most complicated and time consuming card I've made till now. I like to keep my cards simple :) For this card I literally had to conceptualize, plan and then get to work, unlike most of my other works, where I just get started with what I have in store. This card took unusually more time also because I was down with viral fever since a week and was low on energy :(. I made this card in bits and pieces. Normally when I start with one card, I finish it the same day.
The starting point for this card is the ICR5 challenge where we were supposed to interpret rain in our own way. My interpretation is this card: where green becomes greener, bugs, insects come to life and birdies take shelter in trees :)

The twist in this challenge was to also deck up either the inside of the card or the envelope.

 A closer look...
I really loved playing with the inside of this card. I used this dancing bug to depict the joy rain brings to these li'l creatures :) And to literally make it dance, I attached it to the card with a spring. (Pic below) It wobbles when you touch it :) Hehe I'm so loving it!!

Then I added a pocket with two tags for writing personal messages.

Hope you like this card as much I liked making it!! :)
