Hey Friends!! You all have tempted me enough to try out a mixed media project. So here it is!! My first try at MM. Though I had very limited supplies as compared to what I have seen my crafter friends use in their projects, I still wanted to give this project a try. I tried out the layout with whatever stuff I had at hand, just to see how I fare in mixed media.
I am not going to say on how this turned out to be. I need your honest comments and feedback. Do let me know so that I can improve further on this.
I was inspired by Riti Poddar's video tutorial for Crafter's Corner blog and I had wanted to try it out ever since. I must say she is a pro at it and she made it look so interesting that I couldn't help trying it out myself.
I have used various mix of things for my project. The base is a 8x8 mdf that came as a cake base. The flowers are handmade and distressed using Wild Honey and Evergreen Bough distress inks. I used white lace and colored it with distress inks. The wooden button, heart charm, Love alphabet stickers are from my stash. I have also used some mdf penants and birdies which again I have colored to match my project. I had purchased some inks from a local shop and they came handy to color the mdf frame, and other stuff like penants, sequins, etc. As inspired by Riti's tutorial I built up the bg using some mixed PP scraps, washi tapes and stamping. I used mod podge generously to stick the papers for bg. Then I applied a coat of silver acrylic paint to add a sheen to my project.
I will be waiting for your feedback, friends!! Do let me know what you feel about this. I will be more than happy to incorporate your suggestions.
Happy Janmashtami!!
