Afternoon Tea

Hi all on this fab Jubilee weekend,
Just though i would pop by and show you what
we got up to yesterday.
Beth had broken up from school a day
earlier than Jack so we had a girlie
day baking.

In the afternoon the sun came out so we
decided to have afternoon tea
in the garden.

I wanted to road test my new Tea coszie
anyway.
It's quite a simple one just knit every row
changing colours as you go.
I used up some of the wool left over from the
spring blanket i made.
The pattern is out of the new
Although the one in the book had
5 pom poms around the top.
To be honest i couldn't be bothered making 5
so i just added one.

I wanted to use my new car boot finds
as well.
This pretty table cloth i got for £2 it's got
coloured daisy's on it and is the perfect size
for my square outdoor table.

I also picked up this fabulous Royal
Albert cup and saucer/plate. I have never
seen anything like this before and just fell
in love with it, so had to have it.
It's the perfect size for homemade scones
which i must say were yum.

I had a go at making scones a long time ago
it was that long ago i can't remember but i
don't think the were very good.
Anyway i had just picked up a copy of a new
magazine out called Landscape and there
leafing through the pages
i came across some scones (that look delicious)
with the recipe so i had to try.

Fantastic, delicious, perfect
and really easy to make.
I'll not be buying shop bought ones again.

Have a super long weekend
take care

Eclair's as promised

Hi there here you go then
they turned out alright.
I made 6 Eclair's and used the rest
of the mixture to make
profiteroles.
They just need cream and chocolate now.

I also made some cupcakes while
the oven was on.

I am really chuffed they
came out well and they
taste good as well.
Though not good for the waistline.

Crochet Bag

Good Afternoon hope you are well.
I'm going to share with you today my latest
crochet project, i have just finished it
last night.
I wanted to have a nice bag to put
my crocheting in,
instead of the plastic carrier bag
i normally use.
So what else could i do, i had to crochet one.
This was quite easy to make as it is
squares crocheted together.
The hardest part was lining it, but well
worth it.

I had quite a bit of wool left so i made a matching
cupcake pincushion and topped it with a little
rosette and leaf.

It's great now i have a posh bag to
put my next project in, what can i make next
hummm!
i think i might make a scarf for winter.
So watch this space.

Thanks for looking

Camper crazy

Hi all hope you are well, It's a bit
sad here today, the kiddies Hamster
Mel isn't doing very well (old age)
i don't think she will be with us much longer,
So they were feeling sad this morning, bless.

on a lighter note i have had
a play finally with my camper van stamp i
got ages ago, it has never even been out of the
packet so i think it was about time.

Over at I Heart Promarkers challenge this week
they have a theme of Travel/ Transport. so that was
my excuse to have a play.

I have used a mixture of Pro and the new Flex
Markers to colour it in i hope that still counts.
The background paper is an image
i got off the internet.
Sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.
Magnolia doily flower.
Martha Stewart branch and flower border punch.
Inked around the edge with Warn Lipstick distress ink.

I am also going to enter it into this weeks
Creative Inspiration - Anything goes.

I felt like having a bit of a bake yesterday,
i got a new nozzle and wanted to try it.

The nozzle is great, looks so professional,
it's a Wilton Rose 2D.
all i did then is give them a sprinkle
of edible glitter.
No doubt they won't last long with my three.lol.

Thanks for looking today
Take care

I have just checked on Mel now
and she's gone to heaven.

The muffins are chocolate marble cakes with
chocolate butter frosting.
  We made butterflies and
blossom flowers out of icing and sprinkled
edible glitter on them.
Beth then decorated the cakes.

going to have one in a bit with my evening brew
can't wait they smell sooooooo good.
Have a great bank holiday weekend.
Thanks for looking and i hope we
haven't made you to hungry...Lol.

Ribbon Cupcake pin cushion

Hi all hope you are well, i have
been crocheting again and  i
made another cupcake pin cushion,
this time i have topped it with Cherries and
curly leaves.

I have added a matching ribbon and
had a go at singeing the ends to make it curl,
but i'm not sure it looks right, but anyway
i'm going to enter it into the challenge
over at the Ribbon Girl.
They want you to create a new
project that features ribbon.

My ribbon is from the Ribbon Girl.
Wool and pins from stash.

Sneaky peek and Gala

Good afternoon all hope you are well,
Just popped on to show you a sneaky peek from
Teddy Bo and Co for next Tuesday
12th July.
It's Bea on a cloud.
Which gave me the opportunity to finally
use my Grand oval dies from spellbinders,
I've only had the 2 months.
I made an oval easel base card.

Using my copics i tried a sepia look
to the colouring but I'm not sure
if i like it or not, it's harder than you think
just using one colour although a bit of
red did creeped in.

The papers are from Raspberry Road.
I have used Vintage photo distress ink.
The flowers and leaves are made using
the wavy rose die from Marianne Creatables.
I have also used a sentiment from LOTV.

It's our village Gala today and i have just been
to the end our our road to watch the procession
go by. Beth is in it with guides they are dressed up
as characters from Nursery Rhymes
Beth is the baker from Pat-a-cake Pat-a-cake.

I have just popped back home to
Publish my sneaky peek and thought i would share
a few piccies of her as well.

She has had me making crochet cupcakes
for her to carry, I have sewn them onto a paper
plate so they won't keep falling off.

Been scouring the interweb for patterns
with a bit of playing around
came up with these.
She was well pleased,
i don't think I'll get them back.

Oh well just enough time now to have a brew before
i have to go to the playing field to pick her up.
I'm sure she will want to go on the fun fair.

Thanks for looking

Surprise

Good morning all hope you are well,
Thought i would show all you lovely ladies out there
what i made yesterday.

When i was out doing the food shop this week
i was having a browse down the book isle
when my eye caught sight of a pretty
pink book.
So on picking it up to my delight discovered it
was a cookery book.
Even better was the fact that it was a
cake cookery book.

So of course it made it's way into my trolley.
Having the kitchen to myself yesterday i had a
play, started simply with the vanilla cupcakes
and change the frosting to a chocolate one.

I did make 12 but as soon as the kids got home from
school, well you can imagine.

I thought i would give one to my Mum so
Beth and i made this box to put it in.
We used another one of those cute
Tatty Teddy bears with cupcakes.
Beth coloured the image in with Polychromos pencils
and blended with sansodor.
I made the box using my scor-pal,
put a false bottom in and cut a hole
with a nesti circle for the cake to stand in.
Edged with Spun sugar distress ink.
made the Flowers out of punches and the rose out of
a Marianne creatables die.
I also used a Martha Stewart
heart scroll deep edge punch.
The sentiment is computer generated and cut
out with a Go Create tag die.

Hope I've not made you dribble on your
keyboard, yumm! they do taste good though.
