Happy Dance!!!

A new baby is finished. Well the stitching is. I plan on making this into a pillow, which was my partner’s idea! I just have to wait till I have the pennies for the material.  I would love to say thank you to the 2 very kind ladies that sent me the key chart for a new baby after I had lost mine. Without their help I wouldn’t have been able to finish. I randomly emailed around 9 people I have never spoken to before and asked for the colour symbol part of the chart and I received emails from these 2 lovely ladies. If you every see this you are both STARS!!!

So the million pound question is...da da da...what do I stitch now?

I still have black rose to finish, tribal dragon I could start in a week or so (I’m just waiting for the hand dyed fabric to be delivered). There’s elegant kimono but it’s just not calling to me. Call of the wilderness isn’t tickling my fancy and hidden spirits isn’t screaming” finish me finish me”. I have a few small Xmas kits but there my travel pieces so I don’t want to spoil my travel time. I was thinking that black rose would be best but I need to lengthen the fabric as I started too high. So I might attempt that in a little bit.

Don’t forget I have a giveaway going on it will run till the 30th. If you wish to enter then please comment on the giveaway page. I will be adding a few more little bits to the giveaway. Once this giveaway has ended I will be holding a xmas giveaway which I must admit I have already started collecting for (please don’t tell my partner :P )

I have had my new framey thing turn up. It’s a q-snap frame. I saw that quite a few of you use them and I have to say it is heaven! So easy to hold light, chunky. The only problem is getting the fabric taught but my wonderful other half has that duty now

Finally a decent update!!

I apologise for my lack of chatty-ness lately. Information overload! Details can be found here
So onto the stitchey bit.
I have been making progress as you may have seen from the pictures. “Hidden spirits has been progressing well. I’m still not bored of it yet, which is a good sign. She is almost complete and will only take a little more time. I have decided to call her Mai as it is a Sioux woman’s name. It seems a bit nasty to keep calling her she or her. So Mai it is from now on. Hehe
I haven’t touched “elegant kimono “since I got “hidden spirits”. Well once to move it into the cupboard! *hang head in shame*. I will be starting it again when I have finished the cougar and Mai on “hidden spirits”

Not long now

I have an update!!!!
I have been mainly working on the top of the kimono. I have run out of the darker green I need for the leaves. They are all in my Hoover. So I shall go buy some soon. You can see the basic shape coming along. I’m so excited.
Here is a pic

whooo....

I am now a proud member of International stitchers. A stitching site started by Lesley, she is my partner this month. I’m so excited. This will be my first swap, ever! After I have confirmed she has received her item from me I will post pictures for everyone to see.
Heaven and earth designs are amazing. I have browsed through their website a few times and recently made an account. This may not sound like a bad thing but it now means I can buy things. And keep track of things I want.( 127 items in my wish-list) all I can say is hubbys in for a expensive xmas. Hehe. I think I could quite happily stitch Heaven and Earth designs for the rest of my life and still not get through all my favs.

Progress!
And a fair bit of it. Go me! As you can see 3 flowers a lot of diamonds, and leaves. I’m starting to hate leaves. I have also re-prepared the fabric as was having massive problems with the tension. Ironing has got rid of the horrible rings that my old frame had left.

I have added a few more links to the unusual designs page. They might not make much sense at the moment I’m hoping to put them into some sort of list over the next few days.
I was wondering has anyone cross stitched on silk. I have a red silk dressing gown I was thinking of maybe in the future using the elegant kimono design I am working on as a back piece. Does anyone have any hints or tips?
Elegant kimono is coming along ok I haven’t been able to work on it as much as I had hoped lately.
Progress
If you have anything you think should be posted on the Inspiration, Unusal designs or Hall of fame please let me know and ill include it when i update

My new frame arrived!!! Instructions would have been helpful but I managed to piece it together. I have been using it for 2 days now and it has doubled my stitching time. My posture is better and I have a free hand so I can treat myself to a cappuccino and still carry on stitching.
I mucked up on “Elegant Kimono” so I had to undo about 500 stitches while whimpering into my cappuccino. It was so frustrating. But I managed to catch up very quickly and have replaced the stitches I took out. So it’s all good. The colours still amaze me. I think it will always. Even after it’s framed.

Elegant Kimono

Yesterday my new project came through. It’s from dimensions and is called “Elegant kimono” I choose it as I loved the colours. I started stitching yesterday afternoon as my son was at nursery. And then continued later then I hoped last night. Its just the colours are sooooo pretty I don’t want to put it down. The colours don’t really show up properly in the photos but they are fantastic
