productive holiday....

Good morning all! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday yesterday. We had a very productive day yesterday, all weekend actually.

I am the type of person who isn't all about the fashion or having the best, most expensive decor in my home. I am picky when it comes to certain things that go in my home and a dinning set is one of those things. The reason for this is because my family and I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and dinning area of our home. Mr. B and I have always been real big on everybody gathering at the table for meals and that is partly why the furniture in there is important to me. Friday I stopped by a yard sale that was being held by some friends of ours that attend our church. After going to church with this family I never knew that they collected antique furniture. I bought a dinning table, buffet, and china cabinet from them and oh my my these pieces have been taken care of because they look new. There were three chairs that came with it but I told her to keep them for the other antique table that she has for sale, we need six chairs and I am not willing to mix match. Mr. B is on the look for chairs in raw wood, he wants to stain and finish them himself.

Yesterday was a day for getting those things done that are on our "one day when we have time" list. We accomplished much throughout the day, I got all of my house work done yesterday so today I am free to do what I want to do.

I was disappointed with the Tennessee/UCLA game last night, the referee's made some bad calls that really cost us, I am just glad that we didn't lose by major points.

Well, I guess I will go now and surf the net for a bit. Y'all have a great day!

Hi Breazy!

Wow, what a find. Too bad they didnt have 6 matching chairs. See, that would have driven me crazy, leaving the matching chairs there even if there were only three.

Now youre going back after em aintcha?

Cool score on the furniture. A lot of mine is secondhand, but I chose it bit by bit over time and got things I was really happy with. It's nice to find something you really love and that suits your home.

Congrats on your antique find!! Those are always fun. Sorry about your game, but you will have no problem beating UAB in a couple of weeks. :)

Isn't great when you find something you need at a good price? Sometimes it seems like you just missed it because someone bought it just before you got there. I don't blame you for not wanting the chairs.

BTW, I posted the meme.

Congrats on the score of furniture. I like antiques (and not just autos haha) and hopefully I will get back to focusing on getting a house built so i can start gathering some. Its just sooooo much more apparent the time and workmanship that used to go into furniture (and everything for that matter)

Best wishes for the weekend!!

Sometimes you can find the best things are yard/garage sales. I love going to estate sales as well. I've found a few good finds there myself.

I'm with ya for the furniture, for me it is definitely QUALITY. I don't want to have to replace it in 5 years...whew!!

Hope you had a great wknd...I am so happy that football season is here.
