The Great Smoky Mountain National Park

This was the first of the day. We had just entered Cades Cove and these 6 deer were what we saw first. In the picture there are only 4 deer but to the left are two more.

I snapped this picture right after we entered the park. I wanted to capture the fog lingering around in spots on the mountain and the clouds above.

I couldn't resist this one. It looks out over the land and to me is very peaceful. I wish I had actually got out of the van to take this one because the glare from the dash in the windshield shows in this one.

This little doe just happened to look straight at me as I was snapping. As soon as I lowered the camera I thought she would run but she didn't, she put her head back down to graze in the leaves.

These were the last 4 deer out of 26 that we saw that day. They crossed the road two cars in front of us then stopped to play in the field for a moment, at that time Mr. B got out of the van and snapped this picture.

In this picture you can see the house there. That house is the original house that stood back when all the people lived in the Cove. To the left of the house is a Corn Mill where they make corn meal. My mom's dad worked in the mill until the late 70's or early 80's. Today they still make the meal there but it isn't a fully functioning mill as it use to be.

This picture shows the peaks of the mountains with a little snow on them and the sun is peaking through the clouds which actually highlighted it as I was looking at it. The camera just didn't capture how beautiful it really was.

This picture really captured the blue hue of the mountains and if you look real close, you may even want to enlarge, you can see the little bit of snow on top of the peaks.

This is one of the last pictures I snapped Monday, I loved the way the sun was peaking through the clouds to touch the mountain in various places.

In the Spring or Summer we are going to go back and go up into the part where my moms mom was born and grew up, it is called Parson's Branch but it is closed since there have been high winds and some trees have blown down up there. The road to get up there is a one lane gravel road.

I am sorry it took me so long to get these pictures posted but I have been having a huge problem with my allergies and I just haven't felt well.

Y'all have a great weekend, be careful and God Bless!

Long time blah blah...

It has certainly been a while since I've been here. Sometimes I think about deleting this blog and being done but I also think I am goin...
