Sukkersøtt - skisse

It's Easter and I finally got some inspiration to decorate an Easter egg. And if you're sitting there wondering how this egg could fit for this week's sketch challenge at Sukkersött, it's completely understandable! *lol* But, I'll explain to you:
Here is the sketch - made by Kristine:
And if you look close, you'll see that the beautiful self portrait picture is a tiny card - based on the sketch! I know, I'm way too smart... :)
The picture is mounted on pink cardstock. The texts are stamped (from our newest designs) and glued on to the picture. On top of the picture I've tacked a piece of an overlay. Voila - I've used the sketch!

I'll show you another egg tomorrow, 'cause I have two sweet'n young friends of mine that deserve a tiny surprise for the holiday :) One pinky pink girlish today and one more boyish tomorrow...

Sukkersøtt - Clean & simple

This week's Sugar Challenge is a r*e*a*l challenge! In times when most of us is hooked on the vintage feeling whit all it's embellisment and layers, this week we challenge you to go Clean & Simple! Yeah, I told you it's a challenge, didn't I? *lol* Making a card without inking all the edges or using beautiful laces and Prima flowers.... I'll sum up in one word: TOUGH! But it's actually fun, too! Stright lines, bright colors and simplisity. I ended up making 3 cards :) And they give me the Spring feeling! So, have fun and enjoy the challenge!

All the stamps are from our newes designs, and the rest of it are from a Bad Girls kit.

Tusen takk, Siri :) This week's Sugar Challenge is to make a card where you use laces and flowers to frame the motif. We (the DT) got a great kit from Papirloftet, with papers, stamps, lace and flowers. Thanks, Siri!
Ha en fin-fin helg! Wish you all a great weekend!

It's Friday and time for a Sugar-challenge, and this week our guest artist Monica wants us to create a gift sertificate wrapping for a wedding. Mine is not at all very inovating... I used a piece of cardstock originally used for ribbons, paited it blue, cut out a "wrapping" with mye Spellbinder dies, wrapped it 'round the gift sertificate and mounted it all together with a ribbon. The cardstock has a hole at the top, so it can be tied to a gift or a bouquet of flowers...

Its Friday and time for a new challenge at Sukkersött. This week we challenge you to make a birthday card where the date is a made as an inportant part of the decoration/embellishment. And, if you want to - include a gift certificate.

I made a card based on the cardstock cylinder that's in the middle of a roll of toiletpaper. And, as you can see - still using the red/pink scrap... I'm actually worried those pieces will last for ever... The piece with the date is from our own Cut out cards. I've made the tag double, to make it possible to place a gift sertificate in between. Or you can use the space to write some nice words...

Sukkersøtt - selvlaget mønsterpapir

The text on the ribbon is rubons.

I've hand stiched with silver thread.

Anita Thorsen is our Guest designer at Sukkersött this week, and she's challenging us to make our own patterned paper. Actually she doesn't allow us to use any not selfdesigned paper at all :)

This is how I made it:
I used white paper, masking tape, ink in soft pastell colors, a background stamp, a swirl (from Stempelglede.no) and a text from ClubStamp.

First of all I have to give Anita some credit, because she's the one that inspired me big time this time. Thanks :)

I placed the masking tape and used the background stamp.

Then I stamped the swirls with a slightly darker colored ink pad.

To make the stripes more visible, I used a sponge along the masking tape edges.

After removing the tape, I stamped the text. (It was supposed to be in light blue, but since I'm the worst stamp cleaner ever, it turned out a bit darker than planned... *lol* I hate cleaning stamps...!)

Voila - my homemade patterned paper is finished!

and all trimmed for my card.

This week Sukkersött challenges us to make Vintage stuff. Cards, altered art, boxes... you name it. Just make it Vintage :) My entry is a selfmade box, made of an old book cover.
