Be Fearless

Hello Scrappers!

Hoping you are doing well and finding time to be creative!

I am back today to share a layout with you featuring a gorgeous chipboard word FEARLESS! I am so happy with how the page turned out and how easy it was to customise the chipboard to suit the grungy style of the page! Here is a look at the page...

To customise the chipboard I first painted it black and then rubbed some Metallic Lustre in Silver onto the piece making sure the black was still visible. I then outlined each letter with a white gel pen. Here is a close-up of the piece...

I hope my project has inspired you to get creative and to check out the 1000s of chipboard pieces by A2Z Scraplets! If you like this particular piece you can find it on the website HERE.

Happy scrapping!

Katherine :-)

A photo is a moment captured ...

How true is that!

Hi, Deb here with you today. Over the holidays I've managed to scrap a few pages which is nice. This page is of my daughter ready for her first formal in Year 9.

I made the background paper using watercolour paper and mists. Once dry, I then went over it with our Honeycomb Stencil by simply tracing the shapes randomly over the page.

The chipboard title 'A photo is a moment captured' is coloured using a gold paint pen for a rich and definite gold colour.

Another closeup showing the chipboard, paper and stencilled background.

Little bits of bling everywhere.

Materials used:
A2Z Scraplets
Doilies from various sources
Petaloo flowers
Sequins
Gel pens
Colour sprays
3D stickers

Until next time

Keeping it simple .....

Hi, Deb on the blog today with a couple pages to share. I'm enjoying doing some super simple layouts at the moment. The lead up to Christmas gets busy but I find scrapping some pages so rewarding and relaxing at this time.

The first page I've done here is a of one of my grand-daughters. A simple pic of her sitting on the lawn one day during the school holidays. I have used the new frame 'Fancy Frame' which I cut down to fit.

A close up of the painted frame. I have used Pearl Dabber Paint - this would be my favourite of all the dabbers about. I love it!

 Materials used:
Cardstock
Little Birdie Flowers and Butterflies
Kaisercraft Bling

The next page is a fun one using one of A2Z Scraplets Custom Designed Page Frames. Again I have left it unaltered and journaled around the edges.

Until Next time,
Happy Scrapping,
Deb

wow the year is flying

Hi
Caz here with you today to share 2 layouts that I have recently created using some yummy A2z scraplets.
The first layout is of course of my grand daughter. I used the word Could you be any cuter?

I love this word and it fits perfectly with the pic of my grand daughter

I just used a light pink Kaisercraft Paint on the scraplet.

Products used were:
A2z scraplets chipboard
Prima and Kaisercraft flowers
Lindy's stamp gang mist
White Bazzill
Prima embellishments
Kaisercraft pearls

Now my second layout is a bit different.
On this layout I used the following scraplets:

Lots of different coloured mists and texture paste was used on the background. Once again I just used Kaisercraft paint to colour the scraplets.
Products used were:
A2z scraplets chipboard
Bazzill
Tattered angels glimmer mist
Kaisercraft paints
sequins
Texture paste
scrap patterned paper

I cannot believe next time I post it will be December.
Are you looking forward to the festive season?
I sure am.
Till next time
Happy crafting

Christmas is on it's way!

Hi Deb here today. OMG it's getting close to Christmas again. Where did the last year go??? This sudden startling realization lead me to dig out a photo of the first tree we put up in our new home. With kids and fur babies about it pays to keep the decorations simple and/or out of reach!

I have used a couple of the new chipboards from A2Z Scraplets's November release, 'Trimming the Tree GR' and 'Geo Trees'

Trimming the tree is very simply painted with an Adirondack paint dabber. Love these, so easy and so little mess to clean up. I've then just given it a covering of dimensional magic to for a bit of 3D and gloss. This is a really great medium for chipboard as you can add bits and bobs to it - glitter, beads, small metal pieces, whatever will fit will stick.

One the trees I have tried something a bit different. Puffy fabric paint and glitter. I applied a thick layer of paint then sprinkled glitter randomly over it. Not covering it completely to allow the paint itself to puff through. Being impatient I didn't bother to let it dry properly before I heated it gently, carefully controlling the 'puff' as I did. I love the effect if has given on the trees.

Materials used:
Bella papers
A2Z Scraplets
Little Birdie Burlap Doily
Christmas Paper clip

The next page uses one of the Christmas page frames. These are a quick and simple way of putting a page together when you have a few to do.

With this one I have left unaltered and simply written the journalling around the edges.

Cardstock

Could you be any cuter?

Hi Deb here with you today. Life has been crazy busy and my mojo has taken a bit of a battering. What do you do to get it going again? I revert back to doing some clean and simple pages and that will usually ignite the spark. It's no fun sitting there with some time to scrap and nothing is working.

This week I looked back at where things were a year ago and found these photos to do. The first is Miss Molly or Satan's Daughter as she is often called. Who would have thought this cute little bundle would turn into the most stubborn but still lovable feline.

I dug out some older papers and bits and bobs plus some of the newer enamel dots that are about. How cute and quick are they?!

I used the 'Could you be any cuter' chipboard from A2Z Scraplets and painted it roughly with some pretty pink pearl paint. Say that quickly! This gave it a bit of texture for a bit extra.

 Materials used:
Bella papers
Amy Tangerine dots
Magic Scraps Flair button
Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze

This next page is another super quick one. I used mostly Smash type pieces for the page. The number sheet is actually a page for a booklet but a few strategically placed embellishments cover the pre-punched holes nicely :)

Again I have used the Glimmer Glaze to splatter across the background to take the starkness away. I have used the A2Z Scaplets chipboard 'Sweet little moments' and painted it with a metallic fabric paint. The effect is similar to liquid pearls.

Materials used;
Cardstock
Kaisercraft Paper
Smash embellishments
Glimmer Glaze

Until next time'

Weird and Wonderful

Hi, Deb here with you. For this post I thought I'd share another couple of pages I did while on a break.

This first page is using the new "Weird and Wonderful" title and is perfect for this photo. I wonder if anyone else has 'one of these in their family'?

Being a girly page I decided to use a simple finish that still had a bit of pizazz and bling - simply paint and glittered dimensional paint.

Using a stencil and embossing thread I added a word that describes the subject to a T!

Materials used:
A2Z Scraplets Weird and Wonderful
Purple paint
Glittered Dimensional Magic
Stitching template
Thread
Bo Bunny Papers

The next page is one of my grandchildren making biscuits. I love the look on the youngest one's face! Again, this one was done on break with limited supplies - the challenge to make the most of what I had with me.

Firstly I spread some gesso on the paper using a business card I had in my purse. The rest is layering and adding little elements from my embellishments stash that I had with me.

Naturally there is still chipboard on it. I'm finding the pack of Chevron strips very useful. I cut and inked a couple of pieces to add to the layering effects on the page.

To finish it off just a little more I think I might add the title 'masterchef' and a centre to the flower.

Materials used:
A2Z Scraplets Chevron Borders
Flair
gesso
Ink
Papers

Until next time

Scrapping memories ......

Hi, Deb with you today. I came across this photo amongst some others of my school many years ago. It brought back memories and I just had to scrap it to share it with my family.

I have inked and embossed the chipboard pieces. Using a brown ink and unevenly scattering embossing powder over it to give a rustic look.

A close up of the embossed clock. I have used an old PSX powder which was still in excellent condition!

 Close up of the flourish

 Materials used:-
Kaiser School Journal Card
Remnants Flowers
TH Metal tag
Key Charm
Spellbinders Die
TCW Stencil
Paint
Embossing Powder
Pigment Ink
Burlap

White Tigers in chipboard...

Whether or not these beautiful big cats will be around for my family's coming generations is unknown. However, scrapbooking our photos preserves the memories of the things we have seen in our lives.

I have used a couple of chipboards on this page - Chicken Mesh and Engraved Tiger

The close up of the tiger shows the finish achieved by using paint dabbers to color the very detailed engraving on the chipboard.

The Chicken Mesh again, has been simply painted with a white dabber paint.

Memories ...........

Deb here with you today.

How do you sort your photos out to scrap them? I wander back and forth from the past to the present. I have so many to do that I guess I just choose what inspires me at the time.

The first page is one of a portrait of my youngest daughter. The photo was taken about 15 years ago and is fairly dominated by purple. I decided to run with the color and enhance it rather than try and make it passive.

I used two new scraplets on this page 'memories' from the Rustic Moments and Memories set and 'Flourish 105'. Memories is simple painted while the flourish has been given a covering of gesso, paint and pearl paint.

The next page is a simple, fun one of a day out with family Go Karting.

The title 'GoKart' has been painted and outlined with black pen.

 Until next time,
Happy Scrapping

13 A2Z Scraplet techniques.....

Hi everyone, its Kerry here today to share with you some techniques to use on your A2Z scraplets. Do you have a pile of them and just dont know what to do with them or want to do something a bit different but dont know what to do??

Well read on and i hope to give you some inspiration to use up your A2Z Scraplets.

There is so much you can do with them, i done all these last week and even as i was taking their photos today i thought of another that i had to quickly do, and as im writing this im thinking of another i wish i had put in.......but will maybe do that one on my next post.

One of the first techniques to show you is to emboss them. Dry emboss anyway. Do you have a cuttlebug or something similiar like me sitting there collecting dust?? You can put your scraplets through it. Now you may need to use larger scraplet pieces for this and use a folder with a small pattern but i loved how it came out.
Imagine a swipe of ink or colour over this...

I really love this technique as you get two uses from the one piece. On some cardstock spray with your favouite spray over your scraplet...Your scraplet now has instant colour...

take it away and you have a gorgeous background starting on your page.....

One of the easiest and quickest ways i use scraplets is to give them a coat of paint. Using some paint dabbers make it so easy and no brush marks....

You can colour in your scraplets. I used a Faber Castell pitt pen....you could also use copic markers..

I love this quick and easy way as well. Swipe some creamy shimmery ink over them......

For this star i inked as well but gave it glossy finish with some dimensional magic......

I painted this star and when the paint dried i stamped over it...

Ahhhh some crackle paint. A bit longer technique because you have to wait for this to dry. But is very effective. I rubbed a bit of whit ink over it as well to give it a weathered look and make the cracks stand out...

Im so in love with this embossing powder. Just stamp your scraplet with versamark ink sprinkle some powder add heat and voila!!!

This was one of the first techniques i used when i started scrapping many moons ago. I covered it in paper. I covered the piece with glue stuck the paper on, cut the edges with a knife and inked the edges. I added a button to give it something extra.

One of my most used and fav is to use it as it is. They are really great on there own and stand out easily. I am currently working on this layout.

And one last one. Wrap some twine, wool or cotten around your scraplet......

Which one was your fav? Which one do you use the most?

Now i have all these pieces to use!!!

Thanks for stopping by and reading
Kerry xx
