"Shine" Scrapbook layout for September challenge with Louise

Hi Crafters

I'm sharing my take on this months challenge "Shine"

We'd like you to create a Christmas page without using traditional colours.
I chose mint & silver.

The chipboard pieces are
Shine word and Bec's Christmas tree shape

For the Shine word, I added first a coat of Colour Blast embossing powder in "Steel" and then a coat of "Snow White"

For the Christmas Tree, I added a coat of white gesso, then coloured with my Tim Holtz Distress Crayon, then added a coat of Colour Blast embossing powder in "Snow White" - for that little bit of sparkle.

I love how this layout has a definite Christmas feel (with that sweet photo) but there is no traditional colours.

We sure hope you can play along this month.

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone. How are you going?? Its such a crazy time of the year, so much on and happening. Shopping, cooking, kids, Christmas breakups.....

So im in the Christmas spirit today and going to share a few Christmas layouts with you.
This is the table all set up waiting for our feast of the day....lol

I just love this scroll that I painted with gesso. It was a double scroll and I have cut in half so I can use on a later project. You can find these here.

Woohoo the tree...I done this layout for the challenge of the month. I stencilled squares from the snakes and ladders picture and used the colours. Have you had a go yet??

These are awesome and you can find them here.

Well this is my last post for the year. I thank you all for taking the time to read my posts and hope you all have a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Enjoy the time with your families and I hope santa brings you everything you want.

A Christmas decorating canvas by Louise + process video

Hi Scrap Friends

Louise with you today.

I'd like to share with you a Christmas wall hanging created using some fabulous chipboard products.
I've also created a process video as part of my
12 Days of Christmas YouTube project.

"Tis the Season"

Here's a close up.

The "Sparkle" chipboard has gone through the minc machine and been treated with gold foil.

The flag banner received a coat of white gesso and gold embossing powder.

A lot of the extras on this canvas came from the Christmas decorating section of my local discount store.

I love the way it looks on the wall and the bells jingle which gives this piece an awesome festive feel.

You can find these chipboard pieces in the
Store here

If you'd like to see how I created this, please check out the process video:

Thanks for visiting.

New designs for December

Hello again fellow scrappers and chipboard addicts. I thought you'd like a sneak peak at what is coming next month - release date Dec 1.

Just in time to scrap your Christmas photos over the summer are the two little beauties.

We've also got some new stencils coming out. Love the fading brick wall and reverse stencil!

We've added a new range of designs to our massive library - the Mimi range. These fabulous and intricate designs are just beautiful to work with and we're very proud to have them available to you direct or through one of our retail outlets. See page tabs on blog home page.

A2Z Scraplets has always had a huge range of words and below are a couple of new ones added to the library. Our words are inspired by what I see every day people doing in their everyday lives, add to that the glimpses of adventure, tinges of love and family, seasons and special occasions. Words are about you, your memories, the scrapper, the mum, the dad, the family, fur family, the artist, the nature lover, and so the list goes on.

Until next time

Magic of Christmas

Hi, It's Deb here. I hope your Christmas has been good and Santa was kind. Some of us have traditions over the Christmas period and this is one of ours.

Today I am sharing a page about the gorgeous Myer Christmas Windows. Each year we try and take the grandchildren down to see them. For this page I have used the Magic of Christmas 3 Word chipboard from A2Z Scraplets. It has been inked and coated with sparkly dimensional magic. The tags are where my journalling is hidden as well as being part of the embellishment of the layout.

Here's a close up of the title.

Materials Used:

K & Co 3D diecuts

Kinder Kid

Hi, Deb here with you today. Wow, it's been a while since I posted on the blog. Life gets hectic and we've had a break away from work recently (I'll share more of that later) but I'm aiming on setting aside some ME time to craft. Afterall, that's what A2Z is all about, enjoying something we all love and will be treasured for generations to come.

A few years ago I spent Grandparents day with my grand-daughter at her Pre-school. If you haven't got to that stage in life yet, it's wonderful!

I used the Kinder Kid title and colored it all in with gel pens. Nothing special, just kids gel pens from the supermarket. I then simply outlined (thanks to DT Karyn) the chipboard. It does not get much simpler than that and with the colouring trend at the moment why not give it a go!

Until next time

How was Christmas???

Hi Deb here with you today. How was Christmas??? Have you recovered? Another busy day over and now on to the New Year. I've got a few days holiday so am aiming on doing some scrapping in amongst children and grandchildren.

I've managed to get a few done over the last few weeks too and have a couple to share with you. The first one is all about the 'Body Slam'. Anyone with boys can probably relate to this one!

I used a stencil for the background. Firstly, I simply drew around the template of bricks with black pen. I then used gesso and moving the stencil over, spread that across the page. Once dried, the photos were laid on top, the journalling printed up on the computer, cut and pasted on.

To get the finish on the chipboard I have simply inked it with pigment ink and sprinkled embossing powder generously over that and heat set.

Materials used:
Cardstock
A2Z Scraplet Chipboard
Stencil
Black Fine Liner
Gesso
Pigment Ink
Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powder

Chewtime is about our new 'rescue' dog. He is the most gorgeous little fellow, full of life and loves his cuddles as well as a good chew on something. Thankfully that something is now bones and chew toys! We only lost one pair of thongs :)

The title for Chewtime is a simple ink and Dimensional Magic finish. It gives a lovely smooth and glossy surface that really highlights your chipboard embellishment. You can use it over any medium, experiment with pens, inks, chalks or whatever you have and use.

Materials used:
Kaiser cardstock
A2Z Scraplets Chipboard
Basic Grey Papers
Studio Calico dots
Chalk Ink
Dimensional Magic

Until next time,

Counting down the days ...........

Until Christmas.

Hi, Deb with you today. Things have been super busy leading up to Christmas. Getting the presents organized, the food list done, finalizing orders, some new releases and school holidays have hit. I'll be downing tools for a couple of weeks to spend time with the family and catch up with everyone.

Today I have a few Off the Page things to share. Some more things we have been doing with custom designs. Firstly, I have made some invitations for someone very special. They wanted something simple but different. We used Timber veneer for the invitation itself, engraving the information.

The RSVP and Wishing Well were kept super simple.

The outer cover of the invitation was designed into a half doily in order to mount the invite to the back and fold the cut out over the top. Lastly, it was all tied together with twine, ribbon and a charm.

The next project for completion was some Christmas decorations for the tree. We have numerous children and grand children in our family and this year, I designed some ornaments with their names on. These are cut out of 1.8mm thick chipboard for a sturdy, durable memento that can be kept from year to year.

These are so easy to decorate. I have simply painted the back and front a couple of times. Then when dry, applied a coat of dimensional finish and covered liberally with glitter. Shake off excess. That's it!

I have used a variety of colors, glittering to match the paint.

These look stunning hung on the tree.

Lastly, I have been making some 'home decor' type wall hangings for the girls. Using some string hearts, a variety of threads and laser cut chipboard names, I came up with these gorgeous hearts.

Again, the chipboard has been painted, 3D'd and glittered. Just enough sparkle for some special little girls.

Close ups of the finishes on the names.

That's it for another week, I'll see you again next Sunday for my final post before Christmas.

Until next time,
Happy Scrapping
Deb
